You should feel it.
So I tried this in the office in my spare time and I noticed that when I dont engage/lengthen I can do these with ease. But when I engage the PF it makes it harder and Im not able to lift my leg as high. So basically if you dont engage the PF then it will be easy? Is this correct?

And right now Callanetics is my #1 priority as far as working out.

For some reason I am so scared to do this because Im scared that I wont loose this extra fat that I am carrying around. How much time do you put into cardio?

Yes. Don't worry about how HIGH the leg is lifted. The form, the counterpulls, and the PF engagement on this particular EVO segment is the key.

I'm quite the blabbermouth today, folks. Just overlook me if you can.

TC, the December thread (2005) that I posted, I mentioned in there that at that time, I was doing cardio about 3 x a week, Callan 4-5 x a week, and upper body weights 2-3 x a week. I was reshaping LIKE CRAZY.

Strict eye on nutrition/WOE as well, of course.

One more down! Maybe I'll make it to my first 10 by the end of the month. Not seeing a whole lot of change yet.

I'm a little concerned that this doesn't feel very challenging to me. I did a lot of the iBallets and they're tough. Even Bar Method makes me sweat a bit. I just hope this is working! I'm trying to do the counterpulls...the PF stuff and follow Callan's instruction. Yeah...

Hi I heard of a spa technique called Dry brushing using a brush over your skin, it claims to get rid of cellulite by moving toxins out, etc
maybe you could try this along with everything else you are doing

Another hour 10 in 10 done. I am getting to the point where I start to secretly peep into every mirror I pass...stuff is happening!

I measured calories, and I burned 240 in the 50 min the workout took me. The 50 min afterwards needed 200. So I guess the body keeps a higher metabolism for a bit afterward too, which is nice.

One thing though, does anybody else have their neck get bulkier? I think my shoulders look like they hunch up, which is horrid. I think Sandra said something about that, but I can't find it. Anybody remember what she said?

WHERE ARE THE BEFORE AND AFTER PICS? Thanks, I know I was in cap lock but my previous post wasn't answered. I thought maybe this would get your attention.

Also, do most people do the callanetics to video/DVD the latest ones or the old ones? Just curious. Thanks

Are you doing Super Call? I'm a big iballet fan too. Some of them are really tough! The new 32 is very similar to Sc w/ some great music. Just keep engaging your pf like your suppose to & it will make a DIFFERENCE! It may take some time but it will work. The motivation & insight here is priceless. I wish I lived in London. Callanetics sems really big there!

HEY, VICKI! I CAN HEAR YA NOW!

These are a few links off the top of my head. Noreen may see your post and post hers, which are great too, but I don't know where they are at the moment.

Could we get some before and after callanetics pics?!

Emily, ditto what Maria said.

You may be ready for Super C, based on your current fitness level.

Get ready for a little more challenge, girl!

Typically a cardio session lasts about 45 minutes. Sometimes I go a half hour, sometimes I'll go past an hour, it depends. I try to make the most of my time by doing something strenuous. For me, it wasn't a dramatic difference to reduce my cardio 5x/wk to 3x/wk as long as I was doing Callanetics. You should try it, the worst that could happen is you'll maintain your current weight for a week or two.

I agree with what Twyla suggested... You may need to evaluate your diet. Your profile shows you are eating low fat but have you considered low carb eating? I highly recommend it, honestly it has changed my life. Personally for me low fat = no weight loss.

Just bought my first Callanetics tape!

Hello everyone, I just bought my very first callanetics tape and am anxiously awaiting delivery....I was reading some of the posts here and was wondering what "negative" changes occur while doing callanetics? The "its gonna get worse before it gets better" part? just wondering if some of you might share your experiences? Thank you so much.

Vicki - thanks for asking for before and after pics and twyla thanks for posting. i've seen them before, but it was nice to look at the inspirational transformations again.

sweets - i'm on hour 13 of 10/10 and am experiencing some of the worst before better changes. everything seems to be getting pushed to the middle of my body (chest down to waist/ legs up to waist) and the cellulite in my legs is a bit more pronounced, but I'm definitely seeing muscle tone too and I was noticing my waist is beginning to indent in more and my hip area is once more becoming more like a hip area and not like hip/bum.

I'm keeping with it because from the previous posts this is normal and as I continue it should all begin to smooth out. I also feel so fantastic afterwards and even though it is a long workout (60 mins -45/50 after skipping exp/talk/pics) I do not watch the clock and my other workouts i constantly watched the clock. Hope you enjoy
