Antonya and Maryan

I know what you feel, because i am on my 30th hour of callanetic and i haven't lost inches anyway. On pictures, no changes, i seem like i was 2 months ago.
I want to trust all in this forum who tell me to keep on, i decide to wait and see some months again. And i'll try to change my program with callanetic evolution, to don't be bored of 10 in 10 only.

I just keep weight training for upper body, not for all body it's more important, i put the scales away for a while, and i do only callanetics 4 x a week, with resting days (this is confirmed by some bodybuilder teacher, who explain me this workout need rest, because the muscles keep working even after the training, and if we don't do rest, it would be perhaps for some of us more difficult to have good and quick results)

I know how despressed it could be to see our body become bigger, but i decide to be patient, to do well my callan workout...and see....

(Sorry for my english)

Marian,
Your workout looks good expect if i were you knock back the Callanetics to 3x a week instead of 5x. You wil see faster results if you do that, the muscles have time to repair themselves when working out every other day.

Hi Noreen,

Thanks for your input...I'm doing Callanetics every other day, and right now I'm in phase 1 of South Beach...I'm actually a little worried that I'm not getting enough calories, since my diet consists mainly of salad and chicken right now, with a little cheese thrown in. Maybe that's an issue...I used Fitday and it looks like a typical day is running around 1300 calories. I'm drinking tons of water.

I must say, I feel terrific, standing up straighter, and on my walk with DH and the dog last night I realized that the hill that usually has me out of breath was totally easy. So, I'm seeing positive changes already. I love doing the exercises and I love Callan, so I'm going to keep with it for sure!

Wazo - are you sure you're not already just really toned, and that's why you're not seeing much results? 30 hours with no effect seems kind of odd. Maybe seek out a teacher who can assist you?

another hour, 2 for the day! This time South African callanetics, it's quite nice to alternate it with evolution. 9 hours for the month

5. Stretch out of the pelvic floor thru spine and out thru crown of head

6. Keeping your PF engaged and hip stationary lift right leg and foot up off floor

7. Move knee back an inch

8. Pulse knee back

TIPS

Keep shoulders relaxed with shoulder blades back towards hips and wide, upper back broad and relaxed.

Keep knee back avoid it coming forward of hip.

Relax upper behind - don't contract the muscles here you don't need to to tone the upper behind.

Keep hip absolutely stable and stationary as you pulse. Don't let hip move as you pulse just make the pulse from the knee.

Stay stretched out of pelvic floor - don't collapse body in to pelvis.

When you lift knee and foot try to keep your torso stable also, you want to secure your counterpull between the sit bones and crown which means not moving out of alignment when you lift the knee and foot.

Don't sit on buttocks you will be resting more on the bent leg out thigh, this keeps the hips forward.

Oh yes and BREATHE

I uploaded another angle of this pic with my 'show off' pic, apologies for mixing this up. I couldn't bring it back up for this post.

Good luck and let me kdnow if you have problems.

They are Dr Kenneth Grossman, 4 cd set, about $80. anout 30-40 min per session.
I like them. Currently me DD has misplaced the case with cd #1 and #2 we are recarpeting and that means packing the whole dang house up and we are in turmoil right now!

Plan to start 10/10 Tomorrow.

Ok, I know it is too late to answer the Illness questions from earlier, but my doc says any illness from the neck up (sniffles, allergies, cold symptoms) it is OK to work out.
Anything from the neck down~ Heavy hard productive cough as in bronchitis/ pneumonia or vomiting and crampy diarrhea (not just loose stools, but true cramping diarrhea) Or if you have a fever then wait until 24 hours after you are fever or symptom free in those cases to work out.

I was using allergies/colds which I seem to always have as a cop out. She SO set me straight

Hi!

Yes, the QuickCallanetics are just as good as 10/10 DVD's expect QC is shorter and may easier into your lifestyle if you are short on time.

I'm sure of nothing but i gain inches, weight (normal), and my body look the same. I feel the same than before Callan : well.
I was a sportswoman, and after some problems of health, i could not do the same sports. After I gained a lot of fat and cellulitis, i would find some workout adapted to me.
Fat and cellulitis are always here...but a keep on: wait and see.

Question...It depends on how much weight you need to loose...say 40 pounds before you see any visible results...am I right?

Good thinking....you're probably not getting enough calories. With callan, you're building muscle and your muscle needs fuel. I know it might seem hard with being in Phase 1, but just maybe consume more of what you're allowed to. The good carbs?

Also, Do you have an evolution DVD? (sorry if you said so somewhere, I missed it) Quite a few more exercises in Evolution with better explanations from Sandra. I'm already getting excellent results from Evolution, I'm in my 6th hour.

oh my goodness....the power of pictures. I just took some pictures and tried to evaluate them from the ones I took before. Unfortunately the ones I took before were at a strange angle so it's hard to tell the progress. But I will say this for sure. My right thigh has pulled up while my left is sitting a little lower. This makes sense because I always feel a long stronger on my right side. This proves that when I'm working my left side, I need to really take my time and work on my form. And, even better, my love handles are starting to disappear!! Really loving my results so far......

I am so glad you are having ths challenge. I haven't started yet, but I will in the morning. I have the AM/PM Callanetics VHS Tape as well as the beginner, and super. I like the idea of the AM/PM because I am very busy and have three small children. I have already lost quite bit of weight since the birth of my son 6 months ago. Now I know I need to tone my muscles so that I can really look good without my clothes on. Right now I am about a size 12. I am 5'11, so I look thinner than I really am. I feel sort of self conscious because of the stretch marks and flabbiness on my belly.

I actually bought about 15 excersize tapes at the Salvation Army to have a morning aerobics class at my school were I teach 10th grade English. I saw the Callanetics tapes just today and decided to watch them finally. The exercises seem very easy to do and seem to be exactly what I need. I ran track in high school and played basketball to stay in shape. I absolutely hated it! My knees had arthritis at an early age and always seems fat. I also have problems with my ankles because my arches are low.

I really look forward to this challenge. My goal is to do 5 hours by the end of this month. I will do the AM/PM tape every other day and maybe alternate between that one and the beginning Callenetics.

I wonder why everybody is not hip to this exercise. I know that alot of people would not need plastic surgery if they saw the results.

This will definitely keep me motivated. GOOOOOOOO Callanetics!!!
