My cat decided to take a nap on my stomach while I was attempting to do the ab exercises yesterday!

Sandra, I've tried your technique for the hips/bum and it feels so much better than hanging on to the back of a chair!!! So, what is your story? Did you get that bod from Callanetics? Your knowledge and encouragement on this board are very inspirational! Thank you!

That's great that position works for you. I find it fabulous for pulling in the hips.
As you pulse keep stretching out of the pelvic floor through crown and knee or heel and you'll start to feel the stretch up through the hip. It feels wonderful and speeds up the pull in of the hips.

I only do Callanetics. I use light weights for the arm exercises and push-ups, I love push-ups

I'm been a Callanetics addict since 1987 and teaching since 2001. I don't do any other exercise program. I have to sell the program so I have to show a body that is pure Callanetics. I'm 52 years old and I wish I had this body shape, tone and strength when I was in my 20's. Better late then never though

Sandra, you look amazing!

Sandra,
You look awesome! You make me feel ashamed, but inspired at the same time since you're 52 and your body looks so fantastic with Callanetics, at 50 I have NO excuses.

Wow Sandra

I just finished Callanetics Evolution for the first time. My abs are on fire right now. I kept waiting for the ab segment to be over and you kept on and on....

I really liked the workout. I have done alot of workout videos and I am very impressed with your presentation! I know it is very difficult to come across so poised. Fabulous job.

Never got around to doing 10/10 last night, I was just wiped out and felt like I needed a rest day. I did do HIIT on the Treadmill at the Gym
Tonight is 10/10 for sure...I can't wait until my Super Callanetics Dvd gets here...I am also going to order Evolution today as well...

What does everyone use for their leg exercises if you don't have a barre?

Have a great day!!

Sandra - wow!

Sandra, you seriously have an amazing figure and exactly the type I aspire to, fit and healthy with muscle definition, but still feminine and not bulky!

I am only 25 so it puts me to shame that a 52 year old woman has the figure of my dreams. I have been slacking a bit with my callanetics as struggling to find time for cardio and callanetics, but this is just the extra motivation/inspiration I need with only 6 weeks until my wedding/honeymoon!

Thanks for all your tips as well, I have been lurking and taking them in. I am another one who keeps contracting her PF at various points during the day!

I work out in my living room. I use a chair for the leg & hip/behind exercises. Its ok for the leg exercises but its not sturdy at all for the hip/behind. I usually place my hands on the middle of the chair and not as high as they do in the video. Any other suggestions on what to hold on to. I was using my sofa but its very low. I dont know if where you place your hands make a big difference or not. Or is at as long as you are hanging on to something????

I'm very glad to hear that, as it's so rewarding for so many people! And my god, you look fantastic! There's hope for me yet, though I don't know if I could ever quite get to your level, but I'd be satisfied with less

Another hour of evolution for me - trying to get deeper into the form, I seem to be slowly improving, though the abs was tougher than before (maybe cos I'm improving, lol!). My tree trunk thighs are starting to show some definition.

That's a total of nearly 7 this month, and a total of around 8 since I started in late May. I'll see if I can hit a grand total of 10 (at least!) before the end of the month.

Sandra you look AMAZING!!!!! Huge motivation for me those pictures of you, to stay on track and continue the work that I am doing so faithfully every other day. Bravo Sandra, you really really really look younger than you are, and you are beautifull.

One hour of Super Callan done today

oh my goodness Sandra, truly amazing. You have the body of a 20-30 something. But I must ask, prior to Callan what would you classify your body type? Pear, Apple or "boyish" slender? I personally have a pear shape and ALL my fat seems to settle into my butt/thighs. I have a shorter torso and have never had muscle definition in my abs. I even played soccer for 16 years and have always suffered from fat deposits in my butt/thighs. I'm really, really hoping Callanetics can erase all that for me and I can look like Sandra.

ThyckeCutie - if you go back a page or so, you'll find the pictures of Sandra doing an alternative version of the hip/bum exercise, with her arm resting on the floor. I've been doing it that way and it's much less awkward.

Sandra,
Oh my goodness. I bought Callanetics Evolution a few weeks ago. I was so impressed by the instructor's calm and soothing voice and how much detail she went into; I really felt like this was a genuine person, not someone going through the motions. I saw this link and it took me a while to make the connection. I am in awe of how truly helpful and inspirational you are. Not to mention sweet and caring. I will be checking back a lot and doing Evolution tonight!
You have a phenominal body, my ideal at 24, so I can't fathom that you are the age you claim.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart! You have given me the motivation I needed to trim up! I so easily get discouraged, this is such a lift!

sjaschen, if you're starting at 24, keep up that motivation. I can tell from a 32-year old, it is sooo hard to get your 20s body back so quickly!

that's why I'm curious to know what Sandra's body type is normally. I would give anything to have her figure, but I'm not sure I'm built for it.

What's up with my ugly bum?

I was mortified but I had a feeling that it would pass and kept on working out - I still felt so much stronger and my back felt fantastic (I have scoliosis).

We are toning from the inside out so keep this in focus. Everything is being pushed outwards which, for most of us, isn't pretty - but only for a while.
Everything does come together. It really depends on you, how often you workout and how close together your workouts are.

Sandra x

Sandra,

I wanted to make sure I understood your post from earlier. Since starting Callanetics just a few weeks ago (and reluctantly absent from it over the past two weeks b/c of a hospital visit) my body feels MUCH better, and noticebly tighter a few days after the DVD. I thought I was going crazy though, because my rear view startled me. I have noticed what appears to be more cellulit-y fat nastiness. But my body feels so much better. A few coworkers made comments about how shapely my legs looked after only doing the workouts twice (I'm 5'11 and mostly legs, so they're noticable) That is wonderful, but my main problem area is my massive hips/bum area. It looks yucky to me. I think I should stick with Evolution, I just wanted to make sure I hadn't completely lost my marbles. This cottage cheese must disappear!!!
Thanks again for your wonderful words of wisdom!

Another hour of Super Cal done!

For some strange reason my hamstrings were really tightening up on me??? This never happened before. Could it be from the PF contraction?

Can anyone elaborate on the newer version positions? Are the positions more like pretzel work variations? Is it just the foot positions? Everyone keep up the hard work!
