Just post your goal for this week...starting with today, and be sure you take your measurements and weigh yourself. Don't post weight and measurements (unless you want to). That is just for your benefit. Then, start walking! |

Good Morning Everyone
![]() I just finished my 2 mile tape. This evening i think i will put the same tape back in and instead of doing 1 more mile i will try for 2, but we will see how it goes. Would love to start doing 2 in the morning and 2 at night. I have been signed up on these boards for several years now. In the begining i lost some weight, but like a real dummy i didn't stick with it. I have done this several times through the years and i am sick of it. I want to lose the weight once and for all. About a month ago i started doing the WATP tapes regulary again, but i still haven't got the eating part to where i want it to be. All you guys have done so great! Will you post some tips and such that has helped you, and hopefully they will help me as well. Post menu's as well if you want, i need all the help i can get lol. Thanks Bunches! Happy walking everyone! ![]()

Good Morning!
Sorry I've been MIA since Friday...busy weekend! My goal for this week will be 20 miles. Of which I've completed 4 so far. Not sure if I'll sneak any in today but thankfully I'll have 5 more days to get it in! Welcome Mel. Morning and Evening work out great for me too. The only tip I can give you is to just do it, don't make excuses and if you fall off, get back up and keep going. This is about changing your lifestyle; there are bound to be bumps and mistakes so don't take it too seriously and you'll be fine. As for menus, mine typically consists of eggs, meat (beef, steak, chicken, pork), salads and veggies. I find keeping it absolutely simple is best for me, but it may not work for you so you just need to devour these boards and find what gets you going. Good Luck and post here often! KUTGW Everyone!

Thank you for the replys Skoolmarm and GGWilson! I will do it this time! One day at a time. I just have to remember it's not a race. I also have to get my water up there again, I used to do really well with the water, but have totally slacked off fromt hat as well...but no more!

OK...Now I am excited. I did my 1.5 miles, yesterday. When I measured yesterday, I had lost almost 3/4 inch in my hips and 1/4 inch in my waist. So, a total of amost an inch.
Then, I got up this morning and I had lost about 2-pounds. ![]() |

Thank you!
Oh, I meant to tell you that one of the things that is really helping me to lose weight, is Egg Creams...I KNOW...I KNOW. People are complaining about all of the "Egg Cream" talk on the board. BUT, I have one for breakfast and one for lunch. Sometimes I'll have a handfull of peanuts or a small salad, as a snack. Then, I have one of my favorite low-carb recipes (from this board), for dinner. My carb cravings are down to ZERO. There is no way I could've gone to bed, before, without scarfing down a bowl of cereal or ice-cream. Then, when I started low-carb, I always had a bowl of my low-carb cheesecake mousse (or something sweet). Now, it's been over 30-days, but I have absolutely NO DESIRE for anything, after dinner at night. It's great!

The first link is the old "egg cream challenge"...long thread, but lots of good info, and recipes. The second link is the new "egg cream challenge". They are really NOT yucky tasting...even though they sound like they would be. They are actually VERY delicious.

Watch overdoing and replacing too many meals with the egg creams especially if you are exercising. It is a healthy meal replacement in moderation-2 a day is pushing it because if you are exercising your calories can drop too low and you start cannabalizing lean muscle mass which is not what you want to do-you want to burn fat and build muscle. Kind of like a lc Slimfast WOE-not healthy in the long run or good for keeping weight off. For a good explanation of the effects of exercising and the building of lean muscle mass while losing weight I recommend reading Tom Venutos "Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle" (BFFM) or Lyle McDonalds "The Ketogenic Diet". I have a protein pickme up shake in the morning but 2 hrs later I eat-whole foods. Everything in moderation as the old saying goes.
![]() It is a Callanetics day for me but I did complete the 1 mile Muscle Walk with weights-hoping to get endorphins going for pms symptom relief. Have a great day everyone! ![]()

Melle- Thanks for that
; but i have to say it tugged on my heart string's a bit!! Thank you so much.....![]() I want you all to know you inspired me in a major way, it took me so long to lose that 80 pounds; i thought maybe i needed to get the lap-band or the gastric bypass, to actually see result's, then i read everyone's thread's, journals or blog; stopped feeling sorry for myself and feel in luv with low carb all over agian; i'm a better person now, not because i'm 85 pound's lighter, but because i'm healthy, i'm stronger, and i now understand how and why i got here in the first place, I learned so much from LCF! Sometime's i forget i'm not eating this or that; and i might accidently go to put it in my mouth, and then i stop; and assess the situation...i.e 'chip or cookie, candy, etc,; and at that moment i cant go back, their is no going back, i have people like you that count on me, and i'm here; i'm here for all of you, I might not be an expert, but i have learned a thing or two from experience!!! -Nic |
