Love the "Little Britain" reference! (we own the entire series on DVD)

Did another hour of Evolution this morning. Sandra you were absolutely right about keeping the length up through the crown and keeping tall off the supporting leg. I was able to complete the leg exercises without supporting my weight on the chair in front - did the exercise just like on the DVD, arm on chair at my side. Took a few breathers but it was a lot less uncomfortable than before.

I also found that I'm doing fewer mods on other exercises. Like on the behind ones I supported myself on my elbow instead of the beginner's pose (flat on my arm) like I'd been doing... and the final ab one kept my legs outstretched for the most part (I'd been bending the knees and crossing ankles). So I'm getting stronger!

Way to go - once you experience the difference by staying stretched out of the pelvic floor there's no going back to old habits.

Great that you clicked in my Little Britain humour - how talented and funny are those guys?

Kathy,

Well done - it does feel different doesn't it? You may find that everything will feel much, much deeper and you might have to take more breaks but that's the best way to work. As you progress and become stronger it becomes more and more important to check your position and only work in your peak/best position.

Move in to position

Take a deep breath and as you exhale:

Relax in to the position

Keep counterpulls in place

Pelvic Floor tight

Then start your pulse

As you pulse continue breathing deeply and relaxing into the position and lengthening out of the pelvic floor.

Bummer!

But since you all are the experts, I guess I better heed the advice. So, I'll be back in about 3 weeks.

Thanks for caring.

hi all finally done sessions 19 taken me about 4 weeks to get here lol was supposed to measure myself again at this point but i have the dreaded TOM so cn as im abit bloated i think ill wait but the good news is im seeing such a difference in my shape right now im at the point where my abdomen looks bigger than before but ive got a lovely well defined nipped in waist so just waiting on the lower abs to catch up.

My arms are also looking better than they ever have and thats even when i used to do body pump and my boyfriend is totally loving my bum lol noticed a reduction in cellulite on the legs but not much change in shape so ill hafta work them a bit harder might start doing Super C for the legs as mine are quite strong

I think i mite take some pictures in a day or two and post them when i get back from holiday, going on holiday in 2 weeks and i plan on doing callanetics when im away so i should definately see some visable results within that time.

Hope everyone is doing well

For those of you wondering about the "Little Britain" reference, we do get that TV show here in the US on BBC America, if you have extended cable or satellite, check your channel lineup. The show is hilarious along with other shows on BBC America and some of the best murder mysteries!!

Michelle8,
the pelvic floor is like any other muscle, you have to train it and it does take time, just keep engaging the pelvic floor as much as you can and you will find that over time you will be able to fully engaging easily.

Another hour done! I have my 10-y-o doing it now too. She is slim but was getting a tummy pooch. It was gone in 3 hours. She only does half the reps. Amazing stuff!

MG - WTG on those legs, Sis!!!!

Back from my trip. Though I carried my DVD player with me, the opportunity to work out never panned out like I planned. I even brought a bathing suit with me but the sight of myself had me running out the door in horror (just kidding - LOL). I did notice however, just how much cellulite I had on my outer thighs and my inner thighs were rather wobbly and gushy (as Callan would say). I know it's just the shifting from the exercises but it was not a pleasant sight.

Anyway, glad to be back to my routines, which include Callan, of course!

Just a friendly reminder to everybody to drink your water.

Water helps to flush away our burned fat, which is stored by the body for energy.

Drinking lots of water helps to improve muscle tone. All the hours of Callanetics or weight resistance training will be meaningless if your muscles are suffering from a drought. Muscles that have all the water they need contract more easily, making your workout more effective, and you’ll look much nicer than if you had flabby muscles under sagging skin.

If you do nothing else today, drink lots of water. Then make it a habit.

DRINK UP!

Thanks, Twyla! This reminder was exactly what I needed today! Although, recently I have been pretty good about drinking my water, today I sort of 'forgot'

Hour 19 of 10/10 is done!

My lower abs have just started to really pull in. Things changed really fast as soon as I followed the advice in CallaneticsEvolution. In the DVD Sandra says take a deep breath and on the exhale pull your navel down to your spine. It seems to make your tummy go flat a lot quicker.
