Question for someone? When doing evolution, on the leg exercises where you are standing and you do one leg to the front, then the side, and then the back, is your standing leg suspose to hurt and burn? I have to take a breather because the standing leg is hurting so bad. I have checked and I don't have my hip swung out. I seem to be in alignment but it hurts so bad.
Thanks for any help.

1 hour super C.

Twila, I will never thank you enough for bringing the Callanetics in my life. My body is changing, my DH noticed, coming back after 11 days "business trip" how flat my stomack's getting and my buttuck getting firmer and higher. Thank you to all of you here too!

Oops...I also got in 2 hrs of C this weekend and am going now to 4 or 5 times a week. Wish me luck...I'll need it...something about having 4 kids doesn't let you get to exercise much LOL!

Sandra glad to hear about your Mom, you are still in our prayers.

Question... the thigh stretch at the end of the original 10/10 (sitting back on knees with arms behind you) really kills my knees...is there any other way to complete this??

My standing leg didn't burn, but it did cramp up, which got a little better with time doing the exercises. Now that Sandra is back she'll have some great advice and also Noreen does Evolution so will have some tips too.

Alley - I'm glad you asked this question, as I've been wondering myself.

My standing leg always cramps and burns too - I'm quite overweight, so I'm sure it's the extra load my leg needs to carry... what I've started to do lately is hold my supporting chair in front of me (instead of on the side) so I can transfer some of the weight to my arm on the side of the supporting leg. It helps a little, but I still need to take breathers.

I'd be interested in Sandra's ideas on how to modify the leg exercises. It may just be that we need to take lots of breathers until our legs get strong enough to support our weight.

I was doing a combo of 10/10 Evolution & sometimes Super C, expect when i started my Callanetics Teacher Training i restarted with 10/10. I didn't keep track of how many hours before i moved on to Super C, i just moved on when i felt no longer challanged by 10/10.

Thanks. Just checked out your before and after pics - your results are great! Think I've a long way to go before I no longer feel challenged by 10/10 But I'm loving it. It works so fast, don't know why I ever stopped

Thanks, lildragonfly! It is getting better. I'm still not as high energy as I was pre-induction, but it's definitely a huge improvement from yesterday. I was able to complete a Turbo Jam Cardio Party today. I had to really push myself, but I did it.

Sandra - welcome back - hope all the thoughts and prayers bring you and your mom even more comfort!

Today was a cardio day - WATP w/weights.

Alley and Lowcarblulu - my standing leg also has a burn. I seem to remember Sandra answered that on either March or April, sorry can't remember which. It was something along the lines of that the standing leg was indeed getting a fair workout holding the rest of the body while the other leg lifted, so it was to be expected. For me, it's one more example of how my exercises can get cut short because of the weakness of some other muscle group (usually it's my neck causing the problem)!!

Noreen - congrats on 180 hours - WOW!

Hi workingmom - I started 4/15/06. I know it's taken me a while because I had several hits & misses but never lost faith that I would succeed. Thank you for asking!

Sandra - glad to hear your mother is doing better. I too believe in prayer and will continue to pray not only for her, but for you and your entire family.

I have the 3-20 minute DVDs and usually do them in order of stomach, legs, hips & behind. I found that I struggle with the last series, so last night I did them in order of hips, stomach, and legs and found it much easier. As Twyla was kind enough to post a couple of weeks ago, doing the thigh stretch laying on the floor on your side is just as effective (if not more so) than sitting on my heels. Actually, I was able to sit on my heels more comfortably last night but not yet to the point of being able to do the thigh stretch. I'm glad there are many modifications that are offered because they are keeping me motivated to continue!

Hour 14 completed last night!

Just completed Quick Callanetics Stomach. It was really tough as I've been so lazy for the last couple of weeks! But I'm back on track now.
