One more hour of 10/10 done. It was back to the normal today, motivation-wise. I think I figured out the root of my recent feeling 'blah': lack of sleep and rest! Ah, that one night of good sleep does wonders...

Up to 13 hours as of Wednesday night! When I put on my jeans today, there was a tremendous difference in the way they felt on me...just out of the drier and not snug!

Just did my first hour of CardioCallanetics. I have mixed feelings - this was definitely the "most different" cardio I've ever done. All slow ballet dance moves. I thought it was wasting my time but I was sweating when I was done. And, the whole thing is plieing (sp?) so is very leg oriented (what else should I expect from Callan?). Arms are constantly moving so my shoulders also feel worked.

It's following by an Evolution toning section:
Underarm tightener
Waist stretch
Legs - front, side, back
Slow motion plie
Inner thigh stretch
Kneeling hip and thigh - gotta be super C - ouch!
Twisted back stretch
pelvic pulses on back
Pelvic Scoop
Sitting Pelvic pulses
Thigh stretch
Ab prep - hip/back/neck stretch
Mid back stretch
Ab "waves" one set only
V leg abs
Pulse pushups
Lower back stretch
Shoulder blade stretch

So, I think I'll vary my cardio with one day of this, one day of WATP. I definitely couldn't do this on a day I did Callan as my legs would die!

I was planning on starting with the Beginner version and then moving on to 10 in 10 (possibly changing it up with Evolution later). I also have the book - I remember trying this back when I was in my 20s (about 15 yrs ago!) and it totally kicked my butt. I've had a son since then (he's two years old) and I'm definitely ready to get serious now. I'm not overweight, but I am not toned. Basically I would call it "skinny fat." I also plan to do P.A.C.E. for my cardio (developed by Dr. Al Sears) in between my Callan sessions... Does this seem right?

One thing I remember strongly was the wish for a ballet barre and ladder like shown in the book. I looked on line for portable ballet barres, but they are quite expensive. I was wondering if I could go into a hardware store and get a basic wooden ladder - and somehow use that against the wall. I just remember that using chairs was kind of hard...

Any thoughts about that? Also, do you gals have your significant other take your photos (egads) or do you set it up to do it yourself? TIA!

I haven't received my dvds yet... so I'm still trying to figure out where and what furniture I could use... Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I did my first lot of Callanetics on Wednesday night. I woke up on Thursday morning and I swear my chin/jawline area looked thinner already. It felt tighter after doing the stomach exercises, but this is amazing.
A male friend even commented that under my chin looked thinner, which made me feel great!

The boyfriend is doing the back stretches and has been shocked by how much better his back feels.

Off to do some more Callan

Kamalam:

I use a kitchen chair for my hip/leg exercises - just move it back and forth and hold on to the top. I use the back of my couch for the leg stretches. I think in the March thread options were discussed for bars - someone made one from pvc piping, and another uses a squat machine by putting a barbell on the ends.

If you are "skinny-fat" I'm sure you'll have quick results - good luck!!!

Congrats! I have a "turkey neck" and it's getting smaller - I'm so excited! I thought for sure plastic surgery was somewhere in my future, but now I think if I stick with Callanetics I'll be fine! KUTGW!

Checking in - I am doing my Callanetics (5 hours since May 1st), but with company in town, I was a little sporadic. Trying to catch up now by doing 1 hour a day instead of 1/2 hour per day.

I notice that doing my exercises is a lot harder when I'm not checking this board regularly and being inspired.

Beach Vacation is TWO weeks away!!!!

My weight is up about 2 lbs from vacation and company - so I am in attack phase! I will shift this weight! I will take progress pics when I am back down the 2 lbs.... And hopefully I will see a difference from last time.

Wow I am so lost on this thread.

1 hour 10 in 10 done.

This was my first session since Monday, so I am bummed I missed my midweek session. I just felt really lousy... weak and bad sinus headache and vaguely sore throaty.

I did do an extra round of inner thigh squeeze and stomach #1, but maybe I'll even try to squeeze in an am/pm or an extra split session before Monday rolls around again. I hate feeling behind.

KJ-- -- I am wanting to get my abs in shape so my clothes will look better off My husband and I are trying to conceive -- so, WHOOOP!! Maybe this will be more incentive to *try* harder

Twila -- I didn't get in my hour yesterday - -I have been sick with a fever and headache -- I think the headache is the lack of carbs that Atkins talks about - I also have a funky taste in my mouth. Temp is like 99.1 - 99.8 so I can't tell if that could be from the fat burning? Is this from Atkins? Oh - BTW - -my scale said 192 this morning! YAY!

I will do hour #8 today -- no matter WHAT!!

I'm so happy my back feels so much better.

1 hr of Cardio Callanetics and added Quick Callanetics Hips/Behind. To get those types of exercises in that Cardio Callanetics excludes.

I liked doing the Cardio Callanetics because my body was nicely warmed up for the callanetics exercises. The whole workout was very nice and relaxing while working you out as well. Its hard to find that type of combo.

I see everyone is still on this magical journey. Very nice.

Hi, I'd like to join your Callanetics challenge. I got the DVD this past week and have already completed 3 hours so far, today will be 4. I used to do this workout back in high school and had awesome results! I'm hoping to achieve the same.

Wuzzy, I plan on doing cardio too - I think I'm going to shoot for cardio in between Callan days - but this may be too ambitious. As long as I get in a few days a week I'll be happy. I notice most people are aiming for 3 hrs of Callan a week (or more!) - if it's anything like what I remember back from high school times... yikes. I don't know. It was tough!! But since having a baby (who's now two) I'm more motivated to get into shape. Plus, we're having a big family get-together end of July - that helps with motivation.

Hour 2 of 10 in 10 done.
That makes only 2x this week. I'd wanted to do it again during the week but had meetings every day until late. I admire all of you who can fit it in 5 days a week - although I was so sore after doing it last Sunday I wouldn't have been able to do it again until Weds - and then I was in the thick of the meetings.
How many times do you think I need to do it per week, minimum, to see results?
A
