getting regular...
![]() today i weigh in at the Y. i have resisted weighing all week. it has been my biggest temptation. even the chocolate cake i baked with my (newly) 7 year old on monday didn't tempt me! i didn't even lick my fingers! the funny thing about that is that i had chocolate icing all over me. i certainly did look guilty, but was totally innocent! okay, i have a weird thing going on. does anyone else have this?? i am feeling a bit sluggish... like maybe i am not getting enough fiber or something? in the morning, when i go to the Y, my biggest fear is that i am going to get the urge to go (#2 ) while i am in the middle of a really good sweat and that i'll lose my machine!i would just like to feel a little more regular. any suggestions??

That's what they all say!
![]() You didn't say how long you've been on LC or "backed up". Eventually, your body will get used to it and become regular again. In the mean time, Metamucil is something to try. Metamucil: Psyllium Dietary Fiber Supplement—a Healthy Choice Or something else over-the-counter. And make sure you're drinking plenty of water. Or if you can tolerate it, just a little bit of fruit. Like an apple a day. But that might knock you off plan. -Paul Last edited by ab1ht : 04-25-2008 at 06:04 AM. |

I've been LCing since 3/13. I've only been back to exercise for 2 weeks... so this is a recent 'problem'.
![]() My workout buddy at the Y also suggested the Psyllium... I'll definitely look into that. Water, water, water... I am trying, but somedays I do get less than the desired 2 qts. But I am getting better. ![]() Thanks Paul! PS... down 1.5 for the week... so the proof is in the pudding, so to speak, as far as guilt or innocence! ![]() |

Hi Joy - I third the suggestion of psyllium for regularity. Something else that helps is magnesium supplements. My pharmacist suggested magnesium and it's really helped me. Make sure you get the citrate or aspertate versions because they are absorbed by the body best. Start with 200-250mg per day, and then after a few days take one 200 mg. in the a.m. and one in the p.m. Good luck!
