Morning to all. Countdown to workout time.

Sandra, well wishes and prayers to you and your family.

Shooting for 3 Super C's this week, which, though typically fall on M,W,F, will be T, W, & Th of this week.

Incredibly busy the past couple of days. No way to catch up on this thread. I'll just try to jump in and swim.

Later.

Its been a long time (since september ) I havent posted or exercised due to pregnancy! So its been three months since I had my DS very happy to be a mom but not very happy to be out of shape mom!

So I restarted callan today I had to wait three months because I had c-section but feel ready now. I am still nursing so I wont be able to diet drasticly but looking forward to be in shape again.

Very excited to be back!

Lynelle,
I know what you mean. I think that you are probably just getting better at the form.

Another hour of 10 in 10 completed, that makes 5 for me. I can tell the difference in my clothes but not in the mirror. My pants aren't as tight in the thighs.

Hi Everyone,

I've been following you all for a while now. I am inspired by each of you. I completed my 10th hour of 10 in 10 on Saturday. I feel so good. My energy level has increased dramatically. I'm using a pair of size 14 jeans as a gauge of progress. Two weeks ago I couldn't button them. This weekend I was able to not only button them but also zip them up. Yes! My goal is to be back at a size 12 by Memorial Day Weekend.

1hr 10 in 10 this a.m.

TOM is about to go so I'll do progress pix soon.

Prayers for Sandra and her mum. PlanBen: congrats on converting your partner! Let me know if you come up with any modifications for him, because my husband had a lot of problems with flexibility and range of motion in the stretches (and I was wondering how much of it was "a guy thing")

My apologies to everyone, because I"m reading and following along, but this thread moves so fast, I can't keep up with most of it.

More later if I can...

Poor flexibility is definately a guy thing. The men in Callan's original videos are obviously ballet dancers and most men would never get that flexible in a million years! I am trying to work out a program for men that will include the stretches that are particularly good for men. Some of the more yoga-based stretches in Evolution are very difficult for men and some of the ones in 10/10 are impossible (but easy for me ). So I'm mixing them up to come up with something good. Give me a bit of time to work on it and I'll let you know what I come up with.

One more hour of 10/10 done. I didn't get to do Callanetics over the weekend, and boy, does it show... The routine was more difficult to complete than when I do it every other day, but I was able to complete all of my abdominal exercise without any breathers, but one at the very end. I'm excited to be able to do 100 pulses on 3 out of 4 abdominal exercises!

Hey you know what? Forget your behind, you are a total peach!

I will pass that on to my husband, because he felt like the world's stiffest, clumiest oaf after his first hour of 10 in 10. Do you have a dance background?

Take care,
Suzan

super callanetics question...

i just completed my first super c . didn't complete all the reps of some of the new exercises (i was afraid she was asking for 100 open&close, so i pooped out at 15 in anticipatory defeat), but did pretty well.

noreen, twyla, ben:

are you guys able to roll yourselves down one vertebra at a time with your hands crossed behind your head and come back up again?? how long before you mastered THAT?

Yes I did have some dance training but I started Callanetics about a year before that. I have Callanetics to thank for my flexibility. I spent one summer doing the Beginning Callanetics video everyday. When I started out I was that stiff and clumsy oaf but by the end of the summer I was super flexible and as light as a feather

The stretch that really got me flexible and loosened me up was the one where you are sitting on the floor with your legs spread out in a V. I imagine then when your husband tries this he will not be able to get his legs very far apart and will need to have them bent. His back will be very rounded and he will be falling backwards. Am I right? That's how I started. So I would put my hands on the floor behind me to stop me falling back. Then I would gently push myself upright until I felt a really good stretch. No forcing or bouncing. I would just hold it and try to get my back straight. Within a few weeks I suddenly noticed I was sitting up straight without support and my legs were starting to straighten. Then I started to push my torso a little bit forward. I never gave up and I did it every day.

Below is a picture of me a couple of years ago in Death Valley. I love showing off my Callanetics flexibility
