Noreen, awesome results! I'm waaaay away from starting the Super C yet (with only 5 hours of 10-in-10 under my belt), but your progress is SO impressive!
Ladies, I have a question for all of you: what do you do on your OFF days? I am currently doing the 10-in-10 3x a week, and am looking for suggestions for the other 3 days (Sunday is my day of rest). I just received the Walk Away the Pounds DVD and the Yoga Booty Ballet DVD, and waiting for my Turbo Jam discs. Does anyone do them? Do you like those?

Pelvic floor and tipping pelvis
Quote:
Great question as I come across this all the time in class. Engaging your pelvic floor muscles and curling/tipping up the pelvis are two totally separate and distinct movements. I just want to clarify that you try to avoid allowing engaging pelvic floor and curling to merge in to one. This does become easier with practise and the more you allow yourself to relax in to the exercise. Just think of it this way - when you want to hold in wind and wee would you curl your pelvis? Okay, if it's a bad case of wind you might contract your buttocks a bit more than you need to and that is what we'd call 'over engaging the pelvic floor'.So, when you engage your pelvic floor your pelvis remains stable your pubic bone is aimed straight down neither forward or back. You are just 'lifting' your PF muscles up from between the sit bones in to the pelvis - like the bud of a beautiful flower opening. I hope that helps ![]() Sandrax |

Hey noreen your results are quite amazing, im only a newbie and only done 4 hours of 10 in 10 so it will be a while yet before i can move on to super callanetics but i can't wait until i can, in your opinion should i wait until i think i can do all the exercises and have positioning correct before moving on??
And Sandra with regards to the PF muscles will it become easier with time to engage the muscles and complete the exercises its just as the minute i hard it hard enuff to do the exercises let alone think about anything else and should i still get results initially if i dont engage all the time? Thanks Trish x |

work on your form in 10/10 perfect it and get at least 60 hours before moving on to Super C. Its quite challenging Super C, when you feel no longer challenged by 10/10 then mve on to Super C |

![]() Just for the record I want to say that I didn't go back to SuperCallanetics or any particular DVD I just got inspired from this thread and decided to join the challenge by actually completing a workout. Callanetics teachers don't work out along with their students. We just demonstrate and then work with the students. Actually, we spend a lot of time crawling around on our knees So, finding time to work out can be tricky sometimes. Demonstrating does help keep me in pretty good shape but definitely not my best shape. You guys have got me back to working out regularly and I'm loving it so thank you Also, it's good for my students to see how my body has changed by just completing a few workouts (6 to date).Sandrax ![]() |

Absolutely it will become easier As your body becomes stronger you will find everything will become easier, the exercises will feel more intense however but you'll be more in control so to speak.I wouldn't worry too much about the pelvic floor in the early stages. It's more important that you get the body moving and the muscles working. When you're more comfortable with the program and ready to take things a little further when Callan instructs "tighten your behind" try to tighten only the base of the behind only. So, aim to relax the upper part of your behind and lower back more. Most important - Please, please don't stress about the pelvic floor as long as you follow Callan's instructions you are going to see results. You'll know when you're ready to delve deeper in to the pelvic floor issue and you have heaps of help on this site when you are ready.Sandrax |

Me again - I just wanted to add that when you engage your pelvic floor and it rises up in to the pelvis the hip bones will open and widen creating a gentle stretch sensation of the lower abs. So, the pelvis doesn't move out of alignment but the hip bones do open. The more relaxed you are when you engage the more aware you will be of this. I hope I haven't confused you Sandrax |

1 - THANKS for all of the great tips! I had similar questions but figured they'd been asked before and it was just a matter of time till they got asked again! I'm going to print it ALL up for my little exercise binder.2 - LOL re the wind & wee explantion! That's pretty funny! ![]() 3 - How FUN to "meet" you on the Evolution DVD last night! ![]() It was my 2nd Callanetics workout, I did 10/10 on Sunday. I enjoyed it although it kicked my arse! My muscles were burning during the workout and very sore today! I told hubby that you were in this Forum and he said "OH, so you know a celebrity now?" I said YUP! ![]() XO, HB

Tomorrow I'll try to engage my PF and see what happens. I want to lose about 4 inches off my hips! Noreen, thanks for the pictures!!! You must fit into kids clothes, no? I can't imagine what size pants would fit a 27" bum... how tall are you again??? *lives in a dream world where she wakes up with a 30" bum* lol!!!!!!!!!! |

Third hour done!
![]() My reps improved this time! AND I managed to lift my leg on the straight-leg hips and behind exercise! I seriously think I'm getting more flexible and coordinated! I did turbo jam 20 minute workout after callanetics, and it was FAR easier! My body feels wonderful from the inside out and my mother commented that my shirt was looser! ![]() xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox |

I've been MIA, been sick, sister had surgery and just otherwise incapacitated. I've gotten 6 hours done this month (16 since I started in March). My goal is still to hit 12 hours this month. So if I do it every night I can make it! I'll have to catch up with the posts later as it is late.

hello again i was just wondering i was reading in the book and callan says she sees so many people sweating at gyms ect and there no need so does she mean that you really only have to do callanetics
does anyone on here only do callanetics or does everyone do other stuff aswell if you only do callanetics do you still get any results or do you still have to do loads of cardio to see results ? |
