Thanks yellowhair11! Is the "barre" portion of the set easy/hard/heavy to set-up/fold-up/put away? I have some nerve damage in my hands/arms and want to be sure that I can handle the equipment on my own as that's really the only piece that I'm interested in - thanks!

PS - Do we share a mutual love of the number 11? Is your favorite time 11:11?

Newbie here. I was directed here from a fellow poster on the SB boards. I currently do not do anything for excersize. (Besides working f/t, taking care of 3 girls (twins included), & running a house.) I just haven't found the time to excersize. But, I would like to get on the callanetics wagon train. I'm sorry if this has been posted prior, I didn't have time to read all 49 pages. Is there a video that you would recommend for me - a beginner? Thanks.

I would start with the Look 10 Years Younger in 10 Days dvd. I have Fibromyalgia and arthritis and am able to do or adapt the exercises-it's great for a beginner.

Hi Serf; Twinmom; Trish22!

I am new too! I now have 2 hours of Callanetics under my belt (since Sunday).

I did 10/10 (on Sunday) and then Evolution (yesterday). I think they are both great places to start and I plan to alternate them. Beginning Callanetics sounds good too. I also ordered Quick Stomach.

You can get New/Used copies at Amazon.com

I REALLY FELT THE 'BURN" DURING EVOLUTION LAST NIGHT - WOW !!!

XO,
HB

NOREEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you serious?? LOL! 10" off your hips.... your hips are the same size as your waist???? How is that possible in ONE MONTH??????????????

*cries*

lol! I used to do callanetics 6x a week, for a good 1 1/2yrs.... and my hips never went below 35...... how am I ever going to get below 35" hips????????????

And what I wanna know is........how am I ever gonna raise my butt to be above 'the bottom line' ?????? I was looking this morning after my workout, and my butt is so so soooooooooo below the bottom line, it's really upsetting. I don't know if it's all fat - some muscle.... but how will it ever lift that high? I'd say it has at least.... 4-5" to lift.... I can't see that ever being possible!

Another hour done.

Twyla thank you for the modification advice. I will try that tonight. BTW, does anyone else LIKE watching themselves in the mirror while doing the exercises? I have a portable DVD player that I use and I set it on my dresser. I face the mirror for the exercises (except the stomach and other floor exercises) but like to watch the movements while I'm doing them.

This is the most number of consecutive hours I've done in a long time. I have quite a ways to go, especially in the bra roll area, but with all the stress I've been under lately (I have a 10 page paper due tomorrow) I need the 'me time' that gives me the sense of empowerment and control. I ALWAYS feel better after Callan, especially when I do the exercises when I am so not wanting to do them.

I am so very happy to see this board jumping this month...hope we don't lose people along the way!

Kathie,
Yep, all in 1 month! Keep in mind that i went from 10/10 to Super C & started doing Super C 3x a week that's when things kicked in to high gear!
Also engaging my PF made a world of difference! It's awesome the power of Callanetics! Love it, love it!
When you engage your PF it opens up everything and the muscles work sooo much more deeply and kick everyting into high gear.
Try scaling your workouts to 3x a week and engaging your PF. Kathie and i'm sure that you will see a dramatic difference.

Do a search in this month's thread there is plenty of info on PF or ask Sandra next time she stops in.

Noreen - that is inspiring! 3x per week doing Super-C? In one month? Were you doing anything else to supplement?

I did my first Super C Hour today. Jeeze Louise! That's a whole different intensity level. Everything is tired, even my fingers! My goal is to do 15 hours of Super C by May 24th or die trying (ok, not really DIE).

I want results like Noreen!
