SandraHanna - Thank you so so much for helping with my question about bending and twisting. I am determined not to give up Callan. I know the surgeon is concerned that the battery may rub my hip or rib bones, causing discomfort, but I just can't stop now. I am sure I will be calling on you more in the future! Please know you are greatly appreciated on this thread and a blessing to us all. Thank you.

But what I was making reference to specifically was Sandra's response to another challenger's asking if it was okay to do Callan on consecutive days. And Sandra was basically saying yes, but to take two full days off per week from Callan to allow our muscles to heal/recover.

So bottom line, one full day of rest, no workouts at all, might be doing our bodies a favor.

Im guildy of this too!!! I know Im supposed to take a full day off because I havent in forever. But in the back of my mind Im thinking...."ok I can fit in a 20min session of turbo jam after work" lol. I have to stay focused and remember that my body needs a rest. Thanks Twyla

Oh yeah today will be 1 month I have been doing Callan and 20hours total completed!! Go Me!!!

Another hour complete. I think I am all about cranking out an 5 hours of Callan a week. I force myself to take the two days off. I suppose I am looking for the instant gratification of seeing results. I have spent so much time longing for results from dieting and other exercises. Now, I found what I was searching for in Callan. Needless to say, Twyla was a huge inspiration!

I will definitely try that. Thank you! I just hope I can still get decent results even though I'm unable to do some of the exercises.

That book is AMAZING! Some of the exercises are included as a bonus at the end of the "Beginning Callanetics" DVD. I can't remember which ones but I think it's some of the stretches.

Just thought of something else: I used to go to a callanetics class a couple of years ago. Some of those with bad knees did the leg exercises on a fitness ball - they still had great results.

Thank you! I agree, her Southern drawl is very soothing.

Sarill9- I practice Kripalu Yoga every week. I'm excited to see how Callanetics will help with my asanas.

I'm still sore from my first workout yesterday, particularly in my arms, thighs and stomach. I decided to rest today, and I am going to my yoga class tomorrow after work. I'm then going to do my second hour of 10 in 10 on Wednesday. I'm really looking forward to it! How many other exercise programs can claim that??!!

2 more hours of 10 in 10 completed.....1 hour yesterday...1 hour today, I'm really feeling it in the legs this afternoon and someone mentioned the fat under the arms....mine seems to be going away I can't wait till everything meets in the middle because my midsection-lower abs-inner thighs is what needs to go.

I cannot believe that there are 35 pages of Callan info! That is absolutely wonderful!

Been away for several weeks because of death in the family and my father had a leg amputated. I did another hour or so but can't remember the exact count, so I'm just picking up where I left off.

Talk to you soon,
Bronwyn

Thyckecutie- I absolutely believe Callan can give you a 6 pack. When I was doing it pretty regularly last year I had, if not a 6, at least a 4 pack! Umm..now a little more like a slushy in my ab area- but hopefully that will change with time!

So far have completed 6 hrs. this month. I would have done more but in the beginning of this month I was in Mexico on a business trip and didn't exercise at all.I will be consistent now that I am back in the swing of things.

I feel so wonderful after doing Callanetics. I have been rotating 10 in 10, Cardio Callanetics, Callanetics Evolution and Quick Callanetics Hips & Behind.

1 hr. of 10 in 10 completed today.

It would streamline Callan categories, i.e., FAQ's, form, options, newbies, veterans, before/after pics, etc.

Great idea.

This would be an awesome idea!!! Unfortunately there is nowhere else to get such great info or be part of a Callanetics Challenge. I guess we are the keepers of this secret.

I just got some bad news at work (ok, in the big scheme of things it's not life shattering but still...)

I recently started a new job and one of the things I loved about it is that my boss allowed me to go to the gym on my lunch break. So I've been doing 30 minutes of light walk/running 3x a week during lunch- and then Callan at night 3 or 4 times a week. Well, he just told me today that the partners aren't liking that and that I may have to drop the gym routine. No, my firm doesn't give a hoot about work/life balance. I really need this job & I am new there so I can't really make a fuss...

So my question is, what if I was to just do Callan 5 or 6 times a week & no cardio? Believe me, I definitely understand the importance of cardio but I get home SO late at night from work, I really can't muster up the energy to do it (weekends are out of the question unfortunately). HOWEVER, I can muster up the energy to do Callan before bed. I am absolutely completely willing to do that.

As I mentioned, I would like to lose 3 inches on my hips/butt and 3 inches on each thigh. Is it possible to do that with just Callan?

Hopefully in about 6 months after I prove myself there I will be able to resume the gym/lunch/cardio routine- because I really do know it's fantastic for your cardiovascular system among other things, but for now it's not looking like it's going to work out anymore.

I would love to hear your thoughts.

hi,

i started doing callan after stopping the treadmill because of hip pain (and that was after 2-1/2 years of treadmill 6 days per week). so no cardio for about 5 months, and i've gotten much better results with callan alone than i was getting with cardio alone. you and i both know in a perfect world we should do cardio, but when life happens, i can tell you that callan alone gets results.

i just today started cardiocallanetics (just finished, actually!), so i'm hoping i'm back in the swing of cardio again. my results should come even faster now. never fear, you'll get back to it.

what do they mean, telling you what you can do on your
