Thats how it is for me sometimes. I wonder if you burn calories when doing Callanetics?

Im kind of in a bummer mood today. No matter how much I try I cant loose any weight. I weighed in at 175 this morning and I feel horrible I guess I will try even harder but when will this end, so frustrating I feel like my metabolism doesnt work or is super slow

Sorry just on a little vent...

Why don't you throw away your scale? Seriously, countless people with awesome before-and-after pics say they haven't lost a pound. Muscle weighs more than fat...so WHO CARES what the scale says?? Keep doing what you're doing and I am certain you will soon be admiring yourself in the mirror and taking lots of compliments from others. Please don't judge yourself by the numbers on the scale!!

By the way, I don't even own a scale.

Hour 3 of 10 in 10 completed!

It's getting a little easier, I was able to complete about half of the segments without keeling over for a break. Maybe someday soon I'll be able to do them all.

Don't pay any attention to the scale, its perfectly normal that when you 1st start Callanetics your weight will increase by as much a 6-7lbs. You are building muscle, muscle weights more the fat, very shortly you will find that your clothes fit looser and you will look in the mirror and see a tight, toned and strong body. it happens when you least expect it.
So throw out or at least hide it the scale, let Callanetics work its magic on you!

I haven't been doing any cardio . I know I should, but I haven't. I have been looking into adding CardioCallanetics to my collection as well.

Some of the ladies do Callanetics 2-3 times a week and work on cardio on those other days. Not sure, I am sure they will chime in and let you know.

I am sure that you do see a difference. I didn't think I had improved much, but pictures tell a different story. Have you taken measurements or before pictures? If so, do a comparison and it will tell the truth. I am sure a difference has been made .
Thanks JayTee!!

I have taken measurements. If I didn't scare myself so much looking into a mirror, I would take photos! Actually, since I already feel this, I'm thinking I might. Since I've banished all full length mirrors from the house, I'll have to be creative about standing on a chair or something - hopefully I won't fall!!

I agree with the ladies that have already commented on you vent. I know how you feel. I actually stepped on the scale and the friggin thing said I wore 205 . I cursed it and put it back under the bed. I don't believe that I have let myself gain this much weight after shedding 30lbs 06-07.

I told my DH the thing was broken. I have no plans on getting back on a scale for at least a couple of months or until I see dress sizes decrease.

Be encouraged. The exercising is working . The scale is a beast and I don't know why they make the dang on things anymore. I guess that was my vent

Do It! I took pictures and thought okay I see some change. I posted my pics here and everyone saw stuff happening that I didn't notice. If you don't post them keep them for your own viewing.

I agree, I'm looking at the scale, either. I'm measuring success by how my clothes fit. I've only done 3 hrs, but I put on a pair of pants this morning that I remember were tighter a couple weeks ago, and was avoiding them. I tried them this morning, and they're not so tight through the waist. I was thinking there's no way this is going to work for me, but it seems that it is!

Also, I love the thigh stretch at the end of the program. I know I kind of bulked up from doing the Firm step, but now I can tell my thigh muscles (quads) are smoothing out a bit.

I wonder if any kind of program with weights, lunges, etc. might act against the lengthening effect of Callanetics? Since those kinds of exercises contract the muscle, would that hinder Callanetics work? Just wondering...

I was wondering the same thing??? I think thats why I took The firm out my cardio plan because they are always doing tons of squates and lunges w/weights. This toned me but also bulked me up. Im trying to just stick to plain cardio dvd workouts less intense in this area and not do any toning on my thighs since they bulk up easily. I do use weights for my arms only but I would like to know the answer to this as well
