Does anyone know a short killer upper body workout? I want something I can do with Callan. I use the firm now and they use weights which is great but all the workouts I have is basically a total body workout. Im just looking for a good short upper body workout to follow 2x a week

I started with Kathy Smith, Lift weights to lose weight. She has a 20 min upper body and then a 20 minute lower body. I like her, and she moves it quickly with room to up the weights after 6 weeks

I use the upper body workout from Power 90 and 10 minute trainer. Its with resistance bands and weights. I love them all . My upper body is what I have to work on slightly harder so I have to make sure I incorporate some sort of upper body strength training.

Agreed, throw scale out! This is only thing a scale used for.

From memory Callan never once mentions keeping the pelvic floor engaged during 10/10 - she wanted to encourage everyone to do the exercise in a 'relaxed manner'.

Sandra--I'm glad you specifically addressed this because last night I was doing 10/10 and started to engage the PF before the abs work. Callan does say "don't tighten the behind..." so I released the muscles. I'm glad to know I can keep the PF engaged and it won't hinder my abs workout.

It's so funny, once I do a particular dvd, I enjoy it so much I am hesitant to switch to the other dvd for the next exercise session (ie 10/10 and Evolution). But once I switch I am so happy I did because it feels so great. What a way to keep exercise interesting and fun! I highly encourage those who have done 10/10 a bit to try Evolution, you will love it.

Thanks for posting the pics Noreen - there really is a difference - very inspiring - especially since you've been doing this so long and your body is still changing and shaping

Just finished another hour of 10 in 10!
This is 3 days in a row - going to try to do 2 more days in a row after today and then take 2 days off.

For all you SUPER C fans:
After how many hours of 10/10 did you switch to Super C?

PS: Seeing everyone post their hours is really motivating! Keep up the good work!

Noreen--Honestly, you look great in both pics! I can see you are smaller in the first pic, your pockets are higher up on your bottom lol. If you don't mind sharing, what size are those jeans cause that's what I want to look like.

knee placement on hip and behind

Which book do you think is the best? Or do they all give great information??

PLEASE NOTE:

When you are pulsing the knee it shouldn't be downward. The leg naturally rotates 'outward'. So the knee will either be level with the foot or slightly and I mean only 'slightly' higher than the foot. This takes it to a deeper level to work the base of the behind and butt muscles even more.

If you are working with 10/10 as you roll the hip forward the knee does turn in towards the floor bringing the foot up but once the knee has lifted it should bring the knee level with the foot. When you are ready to intensify slowly and in a teeny, tiny movement - turn the knee outward towards the ceiling. The hip should not roll back with this movement.

Try this yourself - turn the knee down towards the floor as you pulse, then turn out to bring it level with the knee; it should kick in deeper around the base of the butt.

I read all the posts and I felt that you may start to get confused when I then added my bit.

Perhaps if a new DVD is ever released, it should be named The Callanetics REVOLUTION. That should cover all bases.

I brought my Evolution DVD with me to the office today, and I may sneak in a segment or to while on my lunch hour via my laptop and behind closed doors. Should rejuvenate me for my afternoon in court...I'm in a boring jury trial, and it may just be the thing I need!
Thanks Twyla

I also have to say that your responses are wonderful. Whenever I read your posts they leave me with nothing to add. Just perrrrfect
