Indeed it does. I'm more toned and in shape than I have been in years - all from doing Shred. It kicks mega butt!

I did it again....I think I need heavier dumbbells, but problem is i SERIOUSLY cannot afford any...I have wrist weights that are perfect heaviness but there's no time to put them on between cardio and strength

What poundage of wrist weights are you currently using? I've always used 5lbs and find them to be a killer with certain moves. I'd like to upgrade to 8lbs but can't find them anywhere so I'll probably have to settle for 10lbs, which are are a little heavy.

I had to stop doing this because the cardio portions were causing severe pain in my right leg (knee surgery 10 years ago)

I am crushed I loved doing it but the pain was too intense. It didn't start until I was doing level 2 for about 3 weeks. Now it's too late to go back to level 1 even that kills me.

I use the leg weights (velcro wrap around kind) and just hold them in my hands. Sometimes it takes a little maneuvering, but I am always able to do it in time.

WOE: IF- with 30 day shred workout
Lovin the 30 day shred

I have been doing level 1 for a week but have had to take a break in between. This workout kicked my butt. I workout 6 days a week and thought how hard can 20 mins. be!
Well I sore from this 20 mins. for about 3 days. using 5 lbs weights only.
I want to lose some body fat but I don't know if I should low carb like I did in the past, I lost 48lbs with Atkins 8 yrs ago. Am looking to lose about 20 lbs still, had a child 3 yrs ago. I would love to know if anyone knows which eating plan works best with this workout.

Thanks

ok so I bought her book today and intend on doing the 30 days diet & workout. I may die half way through.lol but I hope I can keep my motivation up. Still need to read the book and do measurements to track my progress. I am excited to see some results finally. I have been stalled for a while now.

Toni, what does her book say on diet? Is it lower carb? Lower fat?

Hey guys
I'm hoping to be strong enough to at least ATTEMPT this again today....
Anyways heres my question. If I'm doing Callentics as well as this (I created a personal 'bootcamp' ) with the Callanetics as my strength workout, would shred count as cardio or strength? My guess is cardio but I thought I'd ask the experts
I'll let you know if I manage to complete shred today!

This is a TOUGH workout.

I consider myself an Inter/Adv exerciser...I usually do Cathe, The Firm, Joyce Vedral, Turbo Jam, TLT, ETC. These workouts usually run about 45 Min..

SHRED WAS THE HARDEST 20 MIN OF MY LIFE!!!!

I only tried it a few times but Level 1 kicked my butt and I BARELY got through Level 2..scared to see what Level 3 is like!!!

I'm off for the summer but when school picks back up I'm going to do a month of Shred before work b/c it is so short.

Im interested to see if I get better results from doing Shred or the longer workouts I'm doing now!

meal plan for 30 day shred

ok so I have read the book & I am classified as a balanced oxidizer.
It looks like for me I am to follow a sort of zone 40, 30 30 break down.
I am officially starting tomorrow since this is a long weekend here in Canada.
I am enjoying the workout but need to follow a stricter eating plan.
I plan to have Kashi go lean for b-fast with some protein & fibre. Lunch will be less carbs & no carbs at supper. I will follow ideas she has sugg. but I can't follow it to a T I am kind of a picky eater.
I am doing the full 30 days even if it kills me.lol
I will check back to let you know my results as I am doing my measurements & weight today.

onto level 2

Wow I wasn't even finding level 1 easy but onto level 2 I go. Only done it 2 times so far, very hard on my knee (was hit by a car as a child & find it bothersome at times) It bothers me when I have to do the beginner moves since I have been working out for years. I am hard on myself. I am working out early in the morning and it seems to be working great. I am looking forward to seeing the results.

Sign me up too!!

I've been doing cardio only exercises for awhile (using treadmill) and was reminded by a DF that I would really see better results with strength training mixed with cardio. I remember earlier this year using JM 1 for 3wks and saw a dramatic change inch wise. I had only lost a few pounds but people were commenting that it appeared I'd lost a lot more weight. So I decided to try JM again (using OnDemand) and noticed that only JM2 and 3 were available. I did 2 beginning Wednesday..it kicked my butt . But have been doing it everyday since then..and love it!! I think i too will do 5-6 days on..1 off and see how it goes. I use 5lb weights.

I decided to read through this thread after doing The Biggest Loser Cardio Max yesterday. The sides of my waist are SORE and like Mintyshake, consider my self to be a Inter/Adv exerciser. I am going to check out JM Shread based upon the results in this thread. I am excited. Great gams H20! I also like Jackie Warner's upper body workout. I am hoping to love JMS as much as everyone else does. I need a change.

I am starting shred on Friday/Saturday. Will try to do 4x/wk using 2 4kg weights. It better bring inch/weight loss b/c the way I see it I will end the shred rotation by mid october and I am attending a wedding probably at that time.

any of you had success losing inches and/or weight with shred?

Well i am still on level 2 and it is very strange but I am up a few pounds on the scale but feel like I am toning up like never before. I should really throw out the scale and go by measurements only. I am still struggling with the whole eating thing but I workout almost every morning. I would probably be cut under this layer.lol Anyone have any sugg. on how to lose fat in a realistic way?
