So I did level 2 (I still need to buy the DVD) and it was sooo much easier! I feel energetic now! I dont' know if it was because I ate a protein snack before. ACtually, I think it was, because 2 days before I didn't and it was killing me.
Hmmm, is there a lesson here? I'm loving it, I'm a big girl, and I'm seeing definition and toning. If I can see it, anyone can see it! Love it! |

H2OGoddess, I quit for Shred, my knees where killing me, craking all the time, I realised that I couldn't do it anymore. I am still faithfull to Callanetics, HIIT on my elleptical and Cathe Friedrichs " I also can not do the lunges with weight on Cathe Friedrichs
" . I am sorry Goddess about that but I tought I should listen to my body. |

WMS: good to have you back. Hope you enjoyed your vacation. : ) Glad you're still Shredding whenever you can.
lovenuts: Sorry to hear about your knees. Shred does involve a lot of lunges etc., so I can see how it could throw your knees out. You definitely did the right thing in listening to your body. The last thing you want is a serious injury. Hope your knees start feeling better soon. ![]() |

I am going to be starting Shred today. I was planning on yesterday, but it was DS's birthday and just too exhausted after the day to do anything.
Today is going to by my Day 1. I'll post again after I finished the workout. |

I am still shredding away, DF has been doing it with me. I tried Level 3 just to see what it was like and I quite like it. I tone things down a LOT (no jump lunges for me) but it's good to do the different workouts for variety. I like the core rows in L3.
lovenuts: Could you do a static lunge instead of alternating lunges or the jump lunges? Definitely don't push it... knee injuries are the worst!! Skip 'em if they're bugging you. |

Gigi, I've modified most all of the jumping and lateral cardio to other forms of cardio, regardless of what Level I do. I have a bad knee too, and I avoid all jumping, lateral jumping, and many of the lunging type stuff. This is why I invested in an elliptical....it's a great way to get in cardio w/o stress on the knees. Even when doing Turbo Jam, I do modified cardio in place of the jumping or skip/running that is demonstrated there. PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOUR KNEES. You're wise to refrain if you're feeling weakness and/or pain.

I'm still shredding! Gonna do Level 2 here in just a few minutes. I've been doing the Jackie Warner workout also. I found myself dreading the Shred workouts...I have to push myself much harder to get the motivation to do it now! |

I think because it's so intense, it's easy to say forget it. But I've noticed that if I just do it, while intense, it's over quickly. It also is never as bad as I seem to remember. I find myself looking forward to the Tae bo days as opposed to the shred days! |

I just did level 2 again today, and for some reason it kicked my butt! I don't know if it was me this morning or what, but I literally was dying. I haven't felt like that in a while, but I felt so weak, during the first weight segment I was ready to call it quits...and I never feel that on the first weight segment!
I don't know what was wrong with me, my body just felt like it was going to collapse. I did push myself to finish though... |

I think I am going to attempt to do Level 1 tomorrow. Kind of nervous about that, though, haha. I downloaded it and have had it on my computer for a couple weeks now, but felt a bit intimidated, but now that I've actually watched it, it doesn't seem too bad. Pushups are the only part I'm kind of 'meh' about.
Out of curiosity, how long did it take you guys to start seeing any kind of inch loss? Like after how many workouts? I figured if it doesn't kill me too bad, I could do it every other day, and cardio on the other days.

I did it for the first time yesterday and the sweat was pouring off me..
I think I actually wanna go out and get spandex shorts (god help me) and pls dont tell me im the only one lol.. but I notice my booty does this clap thing when i do jumping jacks that REALLY bothers me lololol... all my pants and shorts are now to loose on me so when I do them they kinda fall off and my booty does this clapping thing hahahaha.. I deff wont do the workout infront of hubby, he'll take that and run with it like the wind! lmao Im debating doing it now, or giving my self a rest.. Im walking to my mother in laws later so i dont want to over do it.. she lives like an hour walk away

I have officially completed level 1. It wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. I was just sweating like no other. The only part I actually struggled with was the push ups, but I saw that one coming. I've never been good at doing push ups.

Even better is I notice almost every workout how much fitter I am getting! The first time I did L1, the pushups killed me and now I do every rep. I couldn't get through a whole minute of ab exercises (esp. bicycle crunches) - I have a really weak core. Within 5 or 6 workouts, I was doing the whole minute without stopping. I am getting so much stronger! I think this workout is really, really effective and I have been pushing myself hard. I just got another Jillian Michaels workout and am going to try some new stuff but I LOVE Shred.
