Okay....so I decided to try level 2 this morning instead of waiting until Monday.
Annnnnnnnnnd....I was *almost* crazy enough to think that it was easier than level 1..... until I got to circuit 3. WOW! That circuit kicked my tail. ![]() Now mind you, I was still dripping with sweat within a few minutes into the workout. But, for instance, I found the walking pushups less intense than the straight pushups in level 1. Maybe because it seemed like the move was more about flexibility than strength to me and it only included a total of about 6 total pushups per session vs. the 15 or so straight pushups in level 1. I also thought the alternating front and back lunges w/ bicep curls were a bit easier than the isolated lunge dips w/bicep curls that were in level #1. However, I'm looking forward to mastering this level over the next 1 1/2 to two weeks - by doing each move to full capacity and possibly increasing my hand weights on a few exercises.

Someone in another forum (I think they said they were a member of Jillian's website) said they asked Jillian directly if it was ok to do Shred 5 days a week and she said it was ok because of the mix of cardio and strength.
Personally, I've been doing it 5 days a week - Monday to Friday and taking weekends off. I will be switching it up with another workout as soon as I find one comparable to Shred. |

Great work everyone. This video really kicks butt!!! I'm in pretty good shape and I find it a killer workout!!
I did level 1 with 8 pound weights the first night level 2 with 5 pound weights the second night level 1 with 5 pound weights tonight. I did my regular workout running in the morning. My goal is to include 4 days a week of shred to my regular running, yoga, and cardio combat workouts. Keep up the hard work everyone!! |

I had been really frustrated, because while I was feeling a difference in endurance, strength, and energy levels, I wasn't losing weight. I just upped my fats (while still eating fruit, and have found the weight dropping again. Yeah!

I've dropped a couple pounds since eating higher fat, but the problem is that I don't really want to give up my fruit or nuts. I'll let you know how it goes. I eat eggs sauteed in olive oil, and some turkey bacon (I don't eat pork). I just use more oil when I cook now. Not a lot, but before I was using chicken broth to sautee. We'll see!

![]() ![]() 9 pds in one week is really unbelievable. You have some diet or so?? My weight did not drop but my DH said my fat might have turned to muscles which is heavier than fat. So ??? michelle8 I am doing Shred 2-3 times a week and sometimes together with callanetics and i am seeing changes too! I think our body needs to rest. And I see that my body looks better after a day of rest ![]() |

Thanks for the encouragement everyone!
![]() I'm down 11 pounds as of today. However, I do have a lot to lose. I attribute the majority of the loss to eating clean after falling WAY off the wagon. However, I'm getting great definition, and inch loss, from my Shred workouts! ![]() |

Sure... B: I usually have an EAS protein shake or egg cream for breakfast -only because they are quick and easy. If I drink the EAS shake, I add heavy cream to up the calories and fat. L: Most often a salad - chicken ceaser, cobb, tuna or chef w/full fat ranch dressing. Sometimes I will eat those lower carb WW 'smart ones' lunches. They have some that are only 5-7 net carbs (chicken marsala/chicken in garlic sauce w/green veggies). D: Whatever meat we have for dinner (chicken, pork chops, fish, taco meat, hamburgers, brats) w/o breading and with a small side salad (w/ ranch, bacon bits, and sometimes eggs) or a green veggie. For meats, I'll eat them fried, broiled or sauteed with butter. Snacks/ dessert: My snacks are usually deli meat and pepper jack cheese roll-ups, sf jello w/ cream, or a few peanuts. I also have a square or two of lindt (I think it's 85%) chocolate daily- if I didn't have any jello. I get in about 64 oz of water -sometimes more, sometimes less - but I've stopped stressing about how much I have to drink and just drink to thirst. I also drink diet soda (usually white), sf koolaid, sf tang, and chew sf gum. I am not super diligent about counting carbs/calories. After starting and stopping so many times, I've just learned what works for me, and what I can and can't eat now to stay on track and lose. |

I did my first session of shred yesterday and it was a killer. I thought I was going to drown in my own sweat. My goal is to do it three times a week because right now my body is still in agony and I will need a recovery day in between workouts.
I was impressed with how it incoroporates every part of your body (legs, arms, abs). I enjoyed the cardio session. Eventually, I would like to start running. I think this DVD might help me acquire the stamina I need to become a runner. |

I don't do Shred everyday...only Monday, Wed, & Friday. I've always thought you had to let your muscles recover 48 hours. I use 10lbs & am afraid I'll injure myself. Those of you that do it several days in a row, any thoughts?
