GODDESS!.......GIRRRRRRL! You're amazing!

You have earned the strut, my friend!

This workout AIN'T FOR THE WEAK! And by doing it five times a week, even with weekends off, and only 20 mins per day, and you get results like that! That is a huge testimony to its effectiveness!

I just finished my third workout, and this time moved to Level 2, but bumped down to 5lb weights. (I began with 23 mins of Turbo Jam -- mistake!)

Can you say "CPR"?

This workout makes it too difficult to keep good form with higher weights. I'll stick to lower weights with JMS, and save the pyramiding-heavier weights for other UB workouts. I think the PACE of this workout, combined with using UB/LB simultaneously, is what kicks our butts!

This challenge is a badge of honor....glad to be a part of it!

Thanks.

I did two weeks of level 1 then moved on to do two weeks of level 2 and now I'm completeing my second week of level 3 this week.

I'm thinking of maybe alternating between levels 1, 2 and 3 each day starting next week, just to change things up a bit.

Glad you're getting the dvd. I think you'll really like it. Jillian really works you but it's worth it to see the results.

Thanks Watch-me-shrink! I agree it 'ain't for the weak.

Cheers!

Welcome! I love the results of this workout, and you will too! It's not a bulking up workout, you will build muscle, but you're doing lighter weights with many reps. I have been doing this for about 2 1/2 months (not everyday, probably 2-3 x a week) and I'm at a level 2. I use 10 lb weights, so nothing super heavy. For some of the exercises they're really hard (I'm a shoulder wimp, anything isolating the shoulder is going to be a tough exercise) but overall it seems good.

Twyla, I'm glad you're here too, I was always so impressed with your before and afters. SUch great work!

I did it for the second time yesterday and am actually looking forward my today workout. I must admit you really feel the burn and it's short so times flies and it doesn't get boring. The moves are fairly basic but all your muscles are participating. Will post my results. A wonderful workout!

Thanks for the welcome, Thinner.

And I echo your comment on the delts...I use lighter weights for delts, they're tough!

Well serves you right for using 10lbs weights.

Honestly I'm still in awe that you can handle 10lbs with this workout. Good on you. I seriously hope I can work my way up to at least 8lbs in th not too distant future.

So I've wrapped up six weeks of Shred, thus ending my thirty days and I have to say all the pain was worth it. I love my results. I'm still going to do Shred but will be alternating it with something else each day starting next week. Not quite sure what though.

level 1 first workout done I am so out of shape it is not even funny during the jumping jacks my legs did not want to leave the floor, my 6 yr old was next to me and doing just swell and I was dying it was killer. I really think jillian should be more flexible and not laugh about her lack of flexibility for a trainer its pretty pathetic imo and she should know how important it is to prevent injuries jmo. I do not have any workout shoes so I had to wear DH's who is 2 sizes larger and my feet were hurting so until I can get to the store I will be postponing the workout to prevent injury. keep shredding ladies

I don't think it's pathetic that she's not flexible, trainer or not. Simply put, some people are just more flexible than others. If she were a gymnast, then yes, I'd expect her to be flexible. And she does mention that you should be careful when doing the moves correctly to prevent injuries, how to prevent leg and ankle injuries. She is also very particuluar about point out how you should bend, keep your core straight etc.

TOUCH'E!

Girl, I soon found out that 10 -lbs ain't gonna happen with Level 2....Should have made that more clear. Hercules, I'm not! That's what I meant about this pace, combined with cardio. It's one thing to lift with 10-15 lb weights in basic sets or supersets of circuit strength training, but it's not as doable at this pace, at least not for me.

So at Level 2, I'm using 8 lbs, and the last couple of reps on the second set of one or two segments, I'm not keeping up with THEIR pace, just doing my own to perfect form and prevent injury.

MELISSA....get those shoes and rejoin us when you can. H20's results are inspiring....let's grab some of that glory for ourselves, K?

And as for Jillian's lack of flexibility? One word: (Wanna guess what it is....???????????????????)

I am doing the Jackie Warner Workout right now. LOVE it!!!!!! I plan to switch to 30 day shred in about 3 weeks. That will give me 30 days to complete it before hubby comes home for his 2 weeks from Iraq. I haven't told him I lost any weight after the baby. I've lost over 80lbs since he left. Surprise. I am hoping this will firm me up now.

Oh WOW! That is awesome. Your hubby is in for a shock. A good shock. Good for you. Bravo....

Watch-me-Shrink: I was about to start calling you G.I. Jane....lol. And doing Shred level 2 with 8lbs is still awesome nonetheless..

I agree with you, the cardio between strength circuits is what really makes this a killer.

I guess I just expect trainers that are that fit to be able to do it all, your right its not pathetic its just very surprising to me that she is not flexible and it also makes me feel like if she is so fit and strong and inflexible then there is no hope for me to ever be either. Callan definietly helps in that area but I still cannot do straddles or splits or high kicks but at least now I can touch my toes straight legged that is some progress.

Am I right that I should have proper fitting shoes or is it not a big deal? I just know that the sharp pains in my feet were telling me to stop. I dont suppose house slippers would suffice lol? I a loving this arm muscle burn and I swear my arms feel different already I am excited about this workout! I cannot even do 5 pushups without my muscles shaking so I look forward to the progress. I am using 3lb weights after carrying around my baby and toddler I thought I could handle more but 5lbs killed me.

lbecker~ I am so happy you get to see your dh! for getting healthy while he has been gone, how long has he been gone? tell him thank you for his service.

I think it depends on the work out on being flexable or not..
someone who weightlifts may be alot less flexable then someone who does yoga.. does that make one fit and the other not fit? nahhh!
I think thats why its good to mix up your workouts on occasion.. different workouts do different things for your body, some rip up, some lean you out, some lenghten your muscles..

I think wearing a pair of shoes that don't fit could lead to a bad injury, I'd say you are prob better going with no shoes then with shoes 2 sizes to big.. ..

and im so with you on the 3lb weights.. I have a 2 yr old and my arms kill me after using the 3lb weights! lol
and atleast you can do a pushup.. I have to do the whimpy girly pushups.. hahha

All this time I thought I was doing 10 lb, but all your comments about how 10 lbs was so hard got me thinking...I'm not in the best shape (I do level 2, but still can't do a "boy" push up). So I looked at my weights, and it says 10 lbs for the PAIR

Sure enough, when I put it on the scale it was 5 lbs each...kinda deceptive labeling I thought. Oh well, I bow to those who do 8- 10 lbs weights
