THesedays, glad you've achieved such quick results...even w/o the form down to a T!

Paula, I just hang onto the side of my sofa (I don't have a bar) for the floor stuff, and use the island cabinet for my standing ones. If you use a chair, weight it with dumbbells for stability. If you have a stairwell in your home, you can stand to the side of the stairwell and find the step that's closest to your height. I tried that once.

P-Benj., that class sounds like a lot of fun. I would LOVE teaching Callanetics.

I found I'd better mark a spot or get lost in the doors!

Just finished my 6th hour!! My jeans are looser and I still have no "befores" Anyway, I am happy with the great FAST results and each time I do it, I can feel it deeper and my form gets better and I can relax the other areas easier!! I love this!!

Just finished hour 15. Time for shower now. I may sneak a few more abs in before bed though. I honestly love the feeling i get after callanetics. Its utterly addictive.

6 hours complete! Whoo hoo! I plan on measuring again after I complete 10 hours and see how I did. Like I said in an earlier post I increased just a little bit, but in her book she said that may happen and to hang in there, so I am. I'll keep you posted!

i've been doing 10 in 10 for about 5 months or so, feeling pretty comfortable with it. i just previewed super callanetics -- yikes! it looks yeeeouchy! i'm going to give it a go tomorrow, but i have the feeling it's going to knock me down a peg or two...

My thighs are really aching after the class yesterday. I think it was the Open And Close exercise. What a killer! I was walking down the street to work and my legs were all over the place. Love it!!

I am also addicted to Callan...meaning I WANT to do it everyday! It makes me feel great!!

I remembered to weigh this morning and I am at 162lbs. Not bad for Callan and TOM at the same time right? Callan makes you retain for a bit I heard?
Anyway, I am just happy with the shape I am taking

Hello, my name is Lisa and I'm becoming a Callan addict. BTW, my dh come home last night and said that my hips looked smaller! AND so far this week I am down 6 lbs! I think some of it have to do w/ Cleo's pizza. I'm eating so many more veggies where I used to eat lots of meat.

I overslept, so gotta be quick...

Snuckles...I don't know how I count and watch (well listen) to tv. I must be gifted!

I also use a ladderback chair instead of a barre. I do not do the leg exercises that she says you shouldn't do if you have sciattica. I did them a few times and my hip hurt soooo much!

Benjamin....Boy, I'm jealous of you! I'm no where near an instructor!

Siamese...Good for you! BEing an istructor will be awesome!

Paula, it's kinda spendy, but I bought the Fluidity Bar. The height is adjustable and it folds up for storage. I quite like it. It's great to have just for the stretching I can do on it not to mention Callanetics.

You know, I've been thinking about this too. My community has a new, large rec center which offers various fitness classes. They can't offer enough classes, they are so popular. They offer the standard kick boxing, step aerobics, yoga, and pilates but not this. I think I could get a lot of people interested in Callanetics if I were to offer such a class. Plus, they charge like $7 per person per class and it could be a nice money maker.

It was fantastic! I've been searching for so long for a Callanetics teacher in England and then when they updated the callanetics.com website I finally found one!

It was the same exercises that we know and love from the 10/10 DVD. The difference was that there was actually someone there correcting your position and making adjustments for your body type. I worked harder than I ever have. I think when you do it at home on your own you can get a bit lazy and take short cuts to make it easier on yourself. There's none of that in a class with a certified teacher. She never missed a trick! I learnt lots of things too. Like with the Underarm Tightener she made us pulse up and down rather than in and out. It's so much harder and for the first time ever my arms are aching.

It's a shame that I won't be able to go to her classes very often as her studio is quite far from me. It's worth travelling to get a class though, even if it's only once. You learn a lot of new things. It was nice as she was so enthusiastic about Callanetics and really loves to teach it. I was trying to persuade her to start teaching in Central London. She'd make a fortune! She also teaches about 7 or 8 men which I found quite surprising. I thought I was the only guy interested but she says there are quite a few men out there who love Callanetics.
