Vickilyn,
I didn't get the book and I did okay. But as you can see, sometimes people need a little more instruction in addition to Callan's directives on the DVD, and the book can come in handy. Why don't you just go with the DVD for now, and if you think you need extra help, order the book? Also, some libraries have the book, so you might want to check there. ZINNY, between the massage and the priority to eats, hopefully you'll see some pleasant surprises. ![]() |

Twyla, I'll put in my time
I really like Turbo Jam. It was a lot easier to me b4 starting callanetics. My legs seem to be like lead the day after callanetics and that's the day for Turbo Jam.Happy B-day Zinny! |

I am extremely weak and tired today-I had a major hot flash about 10 minutes before I left work that made me nauseated.
![]() I completed my 7th hour but had excrutiating charlie horses on my right side and couldn't do any of the hip/behind exercises on that side-I was also too weak to do the pelvic rotation. I pushed through and finished and concentrated on what I could do today. |

I have just finished reading all the post and would like to join your Challenge! I ordered 10/10 from Amazon so I will start when it arrives.
~I'm thinking 10 hours for March...does this sound resonable starting this far into the month? |

Need to get to bed, but quickly read everyone's post (oh yeah, there's so many of us, hurray, hurray!) I ordered a DVD from Amazon today that has 5 Turbo Jam workouts on it, and the company I ordered from had a *bonus* of another DVD with 3 more workouts on it. I made sure one of them was Turbo Abs. Did CallaneticsEvolution this afternoon and just finished a two-mile Leslie Sansone walk/hand weights. Snuckles, it didn't take too long to get enough posts...jabber quiet a bit (for me) on this thread. This is just way cool encouraging! Measured today, two weeks from when I measured last. Didn't lose as many inches, but the two big ones I did were from my waist and lower abs.
I've got some pictures I took myself...love the body with the big flash for a head. I'll take some more as I go along. One thing I am noticing...commiserate with me here...my stomach is where I hold my major weight. It's always been fairly firm fat. Now, it's like it's separating from the tighter muscles under there and is just sitting there all liquidy/gooshie. Anyone else? I'm assuming this is a great thing and it's getting ready to leave me for good. Ya think? |

![]() Yup, they are old books, but goldies! Without a doubt get the 10 years younger in 10 hours, a wealth of info, tips in it. Oh, you don't NEED to have a book, but i like to read and see what i'am about to do. It helped me improve my form even further |

Good Morning - walked 30 minutes on my treadmill and completed hour 3 of 10/10.
I wanted to thank everyone for giving me the tips on the butt exercises. Ummm....I was definitely doing it wrong because when I incorporated the tips to give me the correct form, I could barely lift my leg from the floor !! ha ha Does this mean since I wasn't using correct form for the first 2 hours, I should start over and count last night as hour 1, or am I still noting that I have completed 3 hours? |

Callanetics -- Not Just Another Workout Posted by Nefercat ... very, very well said: ".............and this probably will sound just silly, , but Callan just seems so nice at the end of a hard day . I get up at 5:00 to do aerobics before work, go off to work until 5:00, come home brain-fried and exhausted, and there is Callan telling me to relaaaax, let everything go except whatever muscles I am working on at that moment, let myself melt into the ground (all while acquiring a butt I could crack an egg on), I only have to think about one thing at a time... Callan knows I'm tired... I like the PM portion of the AM/PM workout. It's the exercise equivalent of someone putting your feet up on a footstool while handing you a glass of wine and giving you a neck rub, but so much better for you......." Ah, yes.

Backatchas:
Hapi, I'd say you're on the brink of something magical...all that "gooshie" stuff. Good word, BTW! You are working like crazy at this...it will certainly pay off.Lisa, you need to make sure you're drinking enuf water and/or consider a Potassium supplement. I remember when starting Callanetics I had some cramping issues, and once I upped my water and included Potassium (and yes, I thought I was drinking enough at the time.... ), they went away. Aloveforcandles.....(me too, me too!Completed a milestone this morning. 250 hours of Super Callanetics. It was almost celebratory as I was going through each of the muscle groups....can't explain it. Great feeling. ![]() |

Congrats Twyla on 250 hours!
We all hope to be there one day!Last night I didn't get anything done but jogging. This AM I WI and I am down 3 lbs! Today will only be 10 in 10 because Wed. is my busiest day. I have the book and tape. Personally, I like the book cause I can do it while watching TV or listening to music. 10 hours in March is very do-able. Have a peachy day! Lisa |

Hey ...I'm still waiting on my ruling ...ha ha
But ......Get This ......even with doing the excercises incorrectly, I was getting dressed this morning and looked over to the mirror and notice that my saddlebags look different. Hard to explain but in my saddlebag area I had like "overhang" looking ripples those are moving "upward". After only 3 sessions and 2 of those not really doing it right ........amazing |

The neck issues I had at the beginning are definitely getting better. I skip the first neck stretch, but I really do think that the fact I'm getting stronger is helping avoid the strain on my neck while I try to do the stomach exercises. I still need to support my neck for the last stomach exercise, but pretty soon I expect not to. ![]() Right now I'm doing an hour or so on the treadmill and then every other day following it up with 10/10. My belly is shrinking so I'll keep doing what I'm doing until the muffin top is officially GONE, then I'll try to encorporate the CallanEvolution and CallanCardio. (I still have a large be-hind and large legs to work on!) Twyla--Yay for you!!! You are definitely an inspiration to us all!!!

Hello all you marvellous callanetics fans!!
I completed my very first hour last night, my word, i enjoyed it, and found some exercises i could only do about half the reps of. But im sure that will increase. the only thing i have struggled with is the need for a bar??? i have NOTHING that could be in place of that and find it very tough to do the bar exercises? any idea? ive been doing ten in ten. and im going to get some more. ![]() |
