i have a total of 18 hrs. I will measure when i get around 25 hrs, i measure by bodyfat. I want to start supercallan when i get 30 hrs in. At first i wanted to start at 25 hrs, but i dont think i have my forms perfected enough, so i think 30 would be good for me. I want to lose around 8% of bodyfat, if you convert that to lbs, it would put me losing around 20 to 24 lbs of fat. When i started callanetics i was 23% i want to be at least 15%. What are your goals?

If you keep at it you will see results, at first i was doing t-tapp, after 7 months with little results i decided to give callan a try. Sooooo, glad i did. My husband just keeps on and on, on how my body is changing, if he's happy then i'm happy. I have really started to see alot of results after i increased my water intake and eating clean. I drink 2 to 3 quarts of water aday.

Hang in there and keep us posted.

The Firm

Have any of you ever used The Firm tapes? I saw the infomercial (I'm such a sucker for infomercials...) this morning. It's the one you pay two payments of $29.95 for and includes the hand weights. I thought of combining that with Callanetics.

Yes I have them. I like them and my workout regimin is combined of Turbo jam, Callanetics and the firm. I like the firm because it gives you a great sculpting workout. Hi def sculpt is the one I love for sculpting but Hard core fusion is a killer and cardio overdrive is a good one too. I hope to see results soon because I am working out 5days a week plus Callanetics 3-4x in additional to that. I need to work on my eating though. I have been slacking off the last few days but Im ready to get back on the right path. You can find the set cheaper at walmart though but it doesnt come with as many weights. I had my owns anyway

Thanks for the info! I'm going to check ebay or Craigslist to see if anybody has gotten tired of theirs yet.

It's good to vary the exercises and the way of toning. I think one is just as powerful as the other, traditional or evolutional, they both are created by women of genius!
Off to order Evolution!

Agnes, you & your advice are invaluable! Thank you soooooooo much for your support in this thread!!!

Legs

Thank you very much for the answer Agnes. Please could you explain it some more? What is meaning of "snaps"? My nature language is not English so I apologize that I didnt understand all.

And you mean to focus on proper alignment always when I am standing?

Thank you
Betty

Hey Everyone! Sorry it took so long to get the link. Here is where I got the link from.

"my sister showed me the link and i have to warn you when you click on the link, like a bunch of chicks to meet are on the screen and i had NO IDEA where to download it on the page, so it’s weird, but it’s in the upper sort of right side on the page and it says to type in 3 letters (that they give you) and then click the download button. i guess the images that are on that page are their way of advertising. but at least it is the video for free! let me know if it works for you and if you try it out. i am going to do it tonight…and let me tell you, this morning i felt incredible, i could feel the stretches and just felt stronger. and also, i couldn’t do them all, especially the ‘behind’ exercises, but i am going to just build up my endurance (hopefully!)

I started today with Quick Callanetics/Stomach.

It was TOUGH, that's for sure.

Do you really relax your muscles while you're doing these things? I could not relax the other muscles almost at all.

I can testify to the effectiveness of not worrying about number of reps, but concentrating on form. Last week I followed 10/10 and started out with 25 reps, yesterday I did the Evolution version, upped the reps to only 30, but slowed down the count and concentrated on form and relaxing the parts I wasn't working and feeling it in the parts I was. Last night I woke up in the middle of the night and boy were my butt cheeks sore. Today I'm okay walking around or sitting, but going between the two - man oh man!

I just walked 3 GLORIOUS miles on the trail around my development. It is so nice and sunny outside, I love it!
I plan to do another hour of 10 in 10 tonight to redeem my not so good weekend of eating.
We did some yard work around our pool this weekend and I can't wait to get in shape so that I don't feel embarrassed in a bathing suit this year.
I hope you all had a great Easter !

I just completed hour 7 of 10 in 10. I think this was the hardest hour for me so far. I don't know what I did differently, just felt like it was whooping my butt all the way through tonight. I know I will sleep good now.

I absolutely CAN NOT do the hip and behind exercises. Every time I get into position, my left leg goes into charlie horse cramps. Is there anything I can do to substitute?

Are any of the newer DVD exercises different and might be of help in the areas I cannot do?

So, tomorrow, I'm taking off, off, off.

Then, my plan is to do 1 hour every other day and do 1/2 hour on the other days and take Sundays off.
I've done Callanetics on and off for about 15 or more years. The butt and hip exercises have always been the most challenging for me. At first I literally could not even get my leg up at all (let alone the 3" she says to start at) and this was while I was playing JV & Varsity sports! If I consistently tried and visualized myself doing it while grimacing and leaning ALL the way over with only my arm closest to the the leg I was trying to move on my chair. Keep at it and like Callan says one day magically you'll be able to do it! I also had some cramping issues with my foot when I first started. I think getting your pelvis tilted and engaged correctly really helps with this. Hope that helps some.
