Aww thank you guys so much.

I really needed to hear those things guys. The scale dont move for me but I know my body is changing. And I am my own worse critic so hearing your replies makes me realize that I need to quit being so hard on myself. And btw just so you know after my first month ( 9 hrs I went from a tight 12 to a 10 and the scale didnt move). So measure measure.

My goal is to have those abs of Twylas!!!!! She is my hero!

Hi Everyone! I just ordered 10 in 10 today from Amazon and the eta for arrival is 3/5/08.

I am so excited to get started on this program. I was wondering if you have found any stores to buy these DVD's in? I have only been able to find them online.

Thanks and look forward to posting more and sharing my progress with you.

Liz

Another one bites the dust...

Another hour done! Not to scare anyone, but I think I've gotten a little bigger around the mid section. I'm not too worried though - I read in her book that I may go up before I go down since I'm using muscles I've never really used before. Just thought I'd mention it just in case someone else is in the same boat - don't abandon ship!

I would love to get started on Callanetics.

I walk four miles a day, but need more.

Could someone please offer a suggestion as to what DVD I should begin with? Thanks so much.

You are all very inspiring!

I completed (not very well) 30 minutes of Cardio Callan. I am an uncoordinated mess. Along with the Fibro I have some sort of imbalance in my right inner ear and my husband had quite a laugh fest watching me try to do this while scarfing his pizza! I am going to concentrate on the foot movements and not falling over and eventually add the arm movements. I can now do all of the 10 in 10 exercises-some not as many counts but I can do them all now but this Cardio kicks my butt and is a little demoralizing.

Just checking in. Today was a 2.5 mile jog and upper body weights (my shoulders are still tingling!). I can't wait to do hour 8 of 10/10 tomorrow!

PrettyPaula, I'm no expert, but I would recommend two things. One is there is a Callanetics book called Callanetics for Your Back. The four reviews on Amazon are pretty positive. You can get a used copy or maybe try to find it a local library.

Also, I swear by a therapy method called Egoscue therapy that helps with proper alignment (not unlike Callanetics). You can check out some information on www.egoscue.com and if you call into the syndicated radio program on a Saturday morning, Pete Egoscue will send you one of his books for free.

This therapy helped me with years of foot pain from running. I went through 4 pairs of custom orthotics, but they never helped. After doing Egoscue therapy, I now run in Nike Free shoes (a shoe that mimics running barefoot!).

Hey, people.

Checkin in this morning. Today was a Callan day, and I overslept .... ... hate that ! ........ so I did 25 mins upper body weights, and plan to do Super Callan right after work.

I have a confession to make. I've told a lot of "newbies" in the last few months that when I began Callanetics, I rarely did it more than 3 x a week, or, basically I did it every other day.

Upon reading my posts of those early days of Callan, it appears that for the first 4-6 weeks, I did it 4 times a week, if I could squeeze it in, and then I began doing it an agv of 3 x a week. So yes, I lied. Apparently I did it four times a week for a while.

So for inquiring minds of newbies, for faster results, yes, you CAN do it more often. But I still firmly believe our muscles need to rest and repair. So I would not recommend more than 4 x a week.

Also, because it does not offer much for upper body, I would highly recommend upper body strengthening workouts, and some cardio -- along with a clean, focused diet -- for best results.

Whew. Confession is good for the soul!

Wow! Ya'll are a bunch of chatty peaches! All the great results are so motivating!

I didn't have a great weekend food-wise as I went to my brothers wedding...but I got in a 2 mile run and a 3 mile hike and back on clean eating. This month I want to complete 16 hours of Callan, do arm w/o 2 days/week, and iBallet 3 days/week. I also jog 2-3 miles 4-6 days/week.

Ya'll realize that it's March and that means it's...81 days til Memorial Day weekend! That means shorts and bathing suits! Personally, I need to work my arse off and lose some fat! I hope we can all do it together and look amazing this summer!

Today:
B: 1/2 grapefruit and egg whites and sausage omlet
Sn: shake
L: chicken and greenie beenies
Sn: LC yogurt
S: leftover roast and veggies
Exercise: jog 3 miles + 10 in 10 + arms

Ya'll have a PEACHY day!

Twyla,
I tend to agree with you on that one, when i 1st started it was 3x a week, then upped it to 6x a week BUT it was not the full hour, i changed things around. I worked with the book, Super C, Callanetics Evolution, 10/10 making sure i did not do the same thing day in day out.
Right now i'am trying to find a happy meduim,, maybe i'll do Callanetics 4x a week, maybe 3x a week.....

Yeah ....I'm going to get in at the beginning of a challenge for once ...ha ha

Just got my 10 / 10 dvd last week and did the work out on Wed and Sat. So Sat counts as 1 hour in March ..woo hoo

I've decided to do Tues, Thurs and Sat.

Still not sure if I'm doing the exercises completely right as I really don't "feel" anything after completing the leg / behind exercises.

But I'll keep trying

It's one of two things: Either you're already very toned, strong and flexible; or, you're not demonstrating proper form.

Please tell us your typical workout schedule for the last few months. That should shed some light!

Also, at only your second hour of Callanetics, are you able to complete ALL reps of EACH hip/thigh segment with ease and absent of difficulty? If you answer YES to this question, you're SO ready for Super Callanetics, girl!

Good evening.

I'm Vickilynn and I'm here because Marsha (Lildragonfly) , Lisa and Freeing are my buddies from another thread and I wanna be like them in the results! I ordered the Callanetics 10/10 DVD from Amazon, and I hope it's the right one to start with.

I have some physical challenges but I'm hoping I am do the 10/10.

I am 52 and I have a HUGE belly so I'm hoping and praying the 10/10 will target my belly.

I'll just sit back and watch you guys. Just wanted to say Hi
