WOE: Making Healthier Choices - Low Fat

My dvd just came. Soooooooo excited. I worked out this morning but Im surely going to try this tonight. I need the challenge and the relaxation anyways.

Has anyone lost more then 1-2 sizes on Callan?

I carry my weight well but I am looking to go from a 13 to at least an overall 8

Cant wait to start. All this helped!!

Cutie,

Loisng two sizes is definitely not the limit.

That all has to do with how hard you work your program...both workouts AND WOE.

The sky is the limit, girl.

When I began C, I was a Size 10, and in four months I was wearing Size 4.

You can do WHATEVER you set your heart to doing.

Thats great Watch-me-Shrink!! Im loving your progess and hope that I can have great results like you. What do you mean by both workouts? I will continue my regimine of working out 5 times a week. I was thinking cardio 3 times a week(turbo jam or The Firm) and callanetics 2-3x. I hope thats enough. I dont want to over due it. Im not on a low carb diet. but I am watching what I eat and kind of on my own thing of making healthier choices/eating way less then before.

By the way whats WOE?

Oops....let me clarify. I meant adhering to workouts AS WELL AS "way of eating," (which is what WOE means).

Way of eating, no matter what healthy eating plan you have chosen, is as important as the time you put into your workouts.

I think what you've chosen is perfect: Callan 3 x a week, combined with cardio. That's a great plan!

Hey Everyone!! I just payed for my 10 in 10 video and will hopefully begin next week. I have switched from Atkins to South Beach because my doctor recommended I not do Atkins after I fainted while getting blood drawn and then got really ill after they have me juice (loaded with sugar). Hopefully SB will be better for me. I look forward to sticking around this board and I will definitly be taking before pictures and measurements (although I'm not sure if I'll have the guts to post them. Maybe after some progress...)

Pleased to meet you...I'm 43 and in a size 18, as well. I have no advice, as I'm a newbie to Callanetics, but after the first hour, I felt "something" happening to my body. It was like an awakening. Although I have not been dilligent this past week, I plan to get back into it. I did only a half hour today.

We can do this!

to the other newbies, too.

LILDRAGONFLY - I just saw your pics in the ML! You look BEAUTIFUL! The difference is amazing! If your photos don't inspire us to continue with Callanetics, what will?

I have been kind of tired for the past few days. I re-started low carb a little while ago and that usually tires me out for awhile. I am going to try to get in some time on the elliptical today.

I did the weight loss (interval) program on the elliptical. I am all sweaty and my hamstrings feel like they might be a tad bit sore tomorrow.

Did my 1st hour of 10 in 10. Boy was it hard. I couldnt even do the complete warm up with out stoping. Its harder then I thought. I hope I did most of it right. The stretching was so relaxing. I swore I feel asleep during some of the stretches lol. I didnt know my body was soo weak but im proud of my self...what made is worse is that my son saw the counter on the tv and I stopped pretty early He goes "mommy whats wrong with you. You can do it. Those ladies are like 70yrs old. If they can do it you can do it" I had nothing to do but laugh but I explained that its not as easy as it looks. I hope I'm somewhat sore 2morrow. I put my body in positions I never been in before. My body was shaky the whole time. It felt like I was all out of position

What muscles are you supposed to feel doing the pelvic rotation/scoop?

Whoo hoo!

9 hours down! One more and I get out the measuring tape!!! I promised myself I would measure every 10 hours - didn't want to get crazy and measure constantly... it took years to break my scale addition, don't want to switch it to inches!

Hello to all the newbies! I'm pretty new to Callenetics too and I love it so far! I try to do every other day - but have done it two days in a row when my week has gotten out of control... Good luck and I hope you like it as much as we do!

Siamese - Ann Arbor, eh? Sounds good to me!

HarleyGirl--I'm glad you posted that because I was wondering about that myself, I just did Cardio Callanetics for the first time today and I agree. I guess I'm used to being drenched in sweat from my intense treadmill workouts. Maybe I'll do a half hour on the treadmill after Cardio Callan??

Anybody else want to share their experience with this?

Alania,

How are you doing your elliptical intervals? Be specific, please!

Are you using added resistance for higher intervals, or higher speeds for higher intervals?

Give me the breakdown.

I just did hour number 2. I am having so much trouble with the stomach exercises. It kills my neck. Do you think I am doing them wrong? Also, on the hip exercises, I can do all 100 on the right side, and maybe 20 on the left. What is up with that? The weird thing is when I am tired or have been on my feet too long, it is my right hip that aches. I do think I noticed my lower back felt better then the first time I did it. I must have really needed these stretches! I am going to do upper body today also. I have done a couple of BFL challenges, so I will use his routine, since I know it, and it is killer.

Everyone have a great day........lauri

No, Lauri, I doubt you're doing them wrong. Make sure you're rolling forward completely, not upward, as if you're trying to point your nose toward your belly. For a while, you can cradle your neck with one hand to take the pressure off. There's a post by Agnes somewhere in this thread (may want to scan through to find all of hers) where she addresses some targeting for sore neck issues for beginners. As your abs get stronger, your neck issues will resolve.

Also, on the hip exercises, I can do all 100 on the right side, and maybe 20 on the left. What is up with that?

Many of us are stronger on one side than the other. Completely normal....Read Posts 210, 213, 230, 252-254 of this thread, Page No. 8 and forward.

The stretches are paramount to the effectiveness of this workout, not only in terms of lengthening the muscle after it's been taxed, but in aiding in our flexibility overall. You'll be amazed at the strides you make in flexibility after doing this workout. That's why it's been so helpful to Lisa's fibro.....It's so therapeutic!

Bottom line: Your form will improve as you get stronger. Don't veg out during the workout. Relax everything and listen very closely to Callan's instructions. It will happen and you're gonna love the results!

Yesterday was the first day I missed my planned hour of Callan. Had a migraine and had to take meds-head is still very sore this morning but I will aim for tonight. I will adapt and do only the exercises I feel I am able-that's what I like about Callanetics it's adaptable to your body and needs.
