Congrats HarleyGirl on hour 10! What do you mean ~ small change in hips/thighs? After 10 hours you only see a small change in your hips?
Thanks, Snuckles! I meant the change was only about a half an inch, but I have a long way to go in the saddlebag/thigh area.

You can see what I mean by checking out this link. Harley-Davidson | Accessories And Apparel | MotorClothes Merchandise

I did a shoot for the Harley clothing catalog in December. I'm on the far right in the "curvy" (no kidding that's what they call them) jeans. I think the full catalog comes out in a few months, but for now, my thighs are on the internet...ugh!

Today was my cardio day, so I did an hour of spinning and some shoulder and chest upper body work. Can't wait to do another hour of 10/10 or Evolution tomorrow!

Different ones talking about the pelvic rotations...when my friend and I get to that part, and they're SMILING (I have to watch not gritting my teeth.
That's not "You're body is a ragdoll!) We often yell in unison "Stop smiling!" Or in CallaneticsEvolution during the front/side/back standing leg work, the young blond doing the medium intensity...big ol' smile on her face. "Stop it. Don't you know we're in agony here." This afternoon, took a 3 mile walk outside, it was so beautiful. We've only had about an inch of snow twice this winter. All around us, we're right in the corner of Oklahoma, just a few miles from Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas, where they've had lots of snow. However, we made up for it this past July with a horrible flood and two very bad ice storms since December, so took advantage of the 60 degrees today to walk outside. I planned to take the day off from Callanetics, but don't think I'll make it. Kind of like brushing your teeth or hair, can't go to bed without it.

HarleyGirl, you're a model . . . how cool! Let me tell you I don't see any saddle bags in that picture. In fact those jeans look quite nice!

Hello everyone. I have been naughty and not exercising for the past few days. I just finished 10 in 10, though, and I'm getting back in the groove!

I'm so bored in the office today. I'm doing my Office-Callanetics. It's amazing what you can do in the office. I do the Underarm Tightener sitting in my chair, the Inner Thigh Squeeze around the desk, the standing-up Hips and Behind ones from Super Callanetics (holding onto the filling cabinet), the leg exercises from CallaneticsEvolution and a kind of variation of the Open and Close sitting in my chair! Hey, if you're gonna be bored you may as well do a bit of exercise!

Hey Ladies! I've been a lurker here now for a week or so. I bid on a 10 in 10 on Ebay and if I don't win that I'm just going to buy the DVD off Amazon. Would 10 in 10 be the best place for me to start? I have still have a little over 90 lbs to lose to reach my goal. I started Atkins Induction in Feb. and have lost 20 lbs. I figure Callanetics can only help me tighten and tone. Do you think I need to lose more weight before I begin?

Zinny, I can't speak to THOSE workouts (I've never done them), but on the standing leg work in Super, I exp the same fatigue in the supportive leg, and so I always bend over at the waist and do deep stretching between shifting from left to right to relieve the leg and aid in the relaxation.

I'd say it's normal, what you're feeling. Stretch more, if it helps.

10 in 10? Perfect place to start.

There's never a better time than the present to start! Do join us.

HARLEY, HARLEY, HARLEY! Girrrrrrl! You da woman! I think it's great that you're incorporating a mix of workouts along with Callan.... You're gonna have to call for a new photo shoot before long!

I overslept this morning. Hate when I do that, it screws up my whole day. So I will have to do Super C right after work -- I prefer mornings, less hectic, sanctuary for me -- while juggling baseball practice, dinner preps, etc.

I'll get it done. Just annoying.

Everyone is staying very accountable....

ZInny,
You may be tensing your knees/legs/hips(without knowing it) and putting pressure on your standing leg. With Callanetics evolution go through the Callanetics Concepts and listen very carefully to what Sandra is saying, also review both CardioCal & Callanetics evolution without doing the workout and see what the girls are doing. Your best bet may to follow Mckenie and copy precisely what she is doing. Relax your body, keep reminding yourself to relax.

Thanks Twyla--they do do one stretch between changing legs but I don't last that long! With this one I really have to go at my own pace and stop to stretch!

Thanks--I will study up before I try again tonight! Do you think that counts as an extra hour of completed Callanetics?

Planetbenjamin, you inspired me to actually schedule an appointment with the 'local' (ish) Callan teacher! I've been saying a couple of times that I would make the trek but tomorrow morning I'm headed out for a one-on-one lesson--not sure if I hope she goes easy or hard on me! I'll let you know how it goes!

I'm so happy you're going. It will be worth it and I hear the South African Callanetics teachers are very good.

I was thinking about your problem with the standing leg in CallaneticsEvolution. I do get a similar problem sometimes with the standing hip. It's like a burning sensation. It's a good pain rather than a bad pain though. My advice is don't worry if you can't do all the repetitions. Just work at your own pace. You'll get there eventually. Also, when you do the little stretching exercise after each leg make sure you actually feel a stretch in that standing hip. Keep moving your position slightly until you feel it.

Also, while doing the exercise try to feel yourself lifting up to the ceiling. Imagine you have a helium balloon attached to the crown of your head and it is lifting you up to the sky. Enage your abdominals and feel them lifting upwards rather than just tensing them. Think of your whole torso floating upwards and taking all the pressure off your legs. The lighter you can make your upper body feel the less pressure you will have on that standing leg. Imagine you are a ballerina standing up straight and proud. Think light and floating like a feather! Geeze, I hope that doesn't all sound too corny!

Hope that helps a bit.
