Greer Childers -- Shapely Secrets DVD -- Results

Now that so many are doing the "Shapely Secrets" DVD -- some for a month or more -- share your results. (Please post here, since that other SS thread is sooooooo long.)

For me, it’s hard to spend so much for a 7 minute exercise tape, and your feedback will help me decide. (Might help others too.) Thanks!

Eager minds want to know:
  1. How long you've been at it
  2. How often you do SS
  3. Do you enjoy doing the exercises or dread hitting the "Play" button?
  4. How many inches have you lost from your waist, your hips, etc.?

All of the stats and info you are looking for has already been posted in the "Yes, It really does work" thread.

bfuser, the "Yes, It really does work" thread has over 500 posts, which takes a very long time to read. I've read through almost all of it and I respectfully mention that I did not see "all of the stats and info you're looking for" on that thread. I found lots of questions and quite a bit of enthusiasm but not much specific information on results.

The Main Lowcarb Lobby has dozens of threads on the same topic (coconut oil, for example). Surely there's room for this second thread on Shapely Secrets -- especially since the "Yes, It really does work" thread is from 2006. And people who've found something that works great are usually eager to rave about it in more than one thread!!

Hi 40winks! For me it is just much easier to reply on the main thread on Shapely Secrets. I own and run two businesses so don't usually have time to run from thread to thread. I have the main thread, "Yes, It Actually Does Work" bookmarked and jump in whenever I see something to respond to.

As for stats, I have given those several times in the "Yes, It Actually Does Work" thread as have others. I go by how my clothes fit and how many sizes I have gone down. My sagging rear end is now lifted and firm thanks to Greer. I lost 6 inches in my bust after the first four weeks. I only know this because I had to buy new bras.

My doctor, who was very skeptical when I started this, has become a huge fan of SS after seeing my results. He is now recommending it to his other patients who have the same health issues I have. I have no thyroid.

Since I only have time to respond to one thread I will probably keep posting on the original thread as that has some great info. If you keep reading on the original thread you will see that I have invested in three more of her 7 minute workouts. I will post my results and whether I like the Abandonda series over there if you are interested in hearing about those.

Since everyone responds differently to any exercise program probably the only way you will know if it works for you is to try it. This program is probably not for everyone, but then no exercise program is. I only know that it has worked miracles for me.. Good luck with whatever program you decide to go with. I'll be cheering for you!

Hi bfuser. Thanks for the information and for taking the time to respond. Sounds like you're a busy gal. I may try again to read through more of the other thread, but I've already spent hours on that.

Perhaps if anyone else has had success with SS, they'll want to share their results here. (I've already explained twice why that would be helpful to me and others, so I won't explain it again, lol.) Thanks again.

Congratulations on the results you report. Since, as you mention, "everyone responds differently to any exercise program" you may be the exception rather than the rule. Nonetheless, congrats!

ss

I am so glad that you started this thread as I too find that there are too many post in the original to keep track of. I have started the SS plan twice. I didn't keep up with the first one so I started again yesterday. I can definetly feel it when I do the workout so how can it not work

I haven't heard anything about this Abandonda. What is it? Is it another DVD after the advanced?

GREER'S EXERCISE

I think it's worth trying. The exercise is easy to learn and it takes little time to do. I just started doing them since the end of May, but I'm not consistent (I'm lazy!) Sometimes I do the ab and butt tightening part of it while walking or driving.

It is important though to eat right -- keep carbs and cals low to push through for quicker results.

Remember, you can always send her dvd back and get your money.

Hope this was helpful.

WOE: Being balanced but still..LC..all the way..
Hi there!!

Well I am the OP for the thread..."Yes it really does work"...

I don't come here all that often, heck I don't come anywhere, for that matter, cause I'm..too darn busy. I work full time, attend school full time, hubby, two kids, household responsibilities, yadda..yadda...yadda.....

Anyway, funny that I popped in today and saw your post! I agree the other thread is way too long and I admit that I've not read a good majority of the responses myself...

What I wanted to say was that...YES!!! it still works,..if you use it!!! Now you may ask, if I still using it?, well technically no,..simply because I actually gave my DVD away to someone who badly wanted one. ( I actually had two and gave them both away..) Once you learn the routines though and get the concept down, its like riding a bike...you never forget.. Now, ask again,..Physically, do i still do it?,...yes!!! I still do SS combined with so much more...I am no stranger to exercise..

As I originally posted a while back,...I got great results!! Those results were mainly in my lower body ( hips and thys) As I posted too, the DVD did little for my mid section, ONLY because I was already accustomed to doing mega stomach crunches ( 200 per day) and found SS stomach exercises less of a challenge than what i was used to... I do know people for whom it made a great difference stomach and over-all toning wise!!!

Its like anything else,..you can't sit around and eat gobs of food, do a little "flexing" and breathing and expect miracles... Its the COMBINATION ( eating right and exercise) and more importantly,.being consistent that works!!...Just about anything WILL work,..if you work it

DH told me that SS techniques have been around for a LONG time and that they did those same exercises back when he was in school. Isometric is nothing new...just "New" to me when I discovered SS and the fact that it was only 7 minutes.. Although I'm very active, there are some days when all I could fit in was SS and that's still progress nonetheless!!

Would I recommend you buying it?...Yes!! and perhaps sharing it with a friend or two ...Truly, once you grasp her movements, the DVD itself in not needed. I know my local Library has her other DVD's ( the older ones) perhaps yours does too... HTH..,

My motto.. for most everything,...is
'I don't always have to "Like it", ...All i have to do is..."DO IT"!!
There are 24 hours in a day...certainly..I can devote one of those hours... to improve my health,,,NO excuses!
