stability ball as a chair

I saw an ad where a stability ball was used as a chair. The ad raves about the benefits one would reap just sitting down
I wonder if any one has used such a chair and do you think it would actually work the core just sitting down?

In this months Fitness Rx for women, there is a small article showing that this turns out to be a bad idea to use the ball as an office chair. It said something about it resulting in bad posture causing strain. It may be a good idea for sitting on while watching tv (trying to stay on while lifting feet off floor is a good exercise).
