Pam, I did the same thing that you did about my weight loss this morning, mostly because right now my time is so limited with watching DGD2, working and going to see my Mom at the rehab because of her accident. I think you're fine, (mostly because I'm doing the same thing. haha)

Like I said, no offense was intended. If I came across as condescending, I apologize. I thought you mentioned something about posting the same question to several threads. If lots of people did that, we'd all go ![]() We all have different styles and personalities. Plus, not being face to face doesn't help. Clearly, we got off on the wrong foot. So... I've completed the C25K. I've also done some running beyond that. If I can help you in this program, let me know and I'll do my best to support you. -Paul

Okay, so today was day 5 on week 4 because I couldn't handle the knee pain on the first time around. I am going to do one more day on it and then move on. I am terrified of the 20 minute run but time to bite the bullett I guess. I think I have the knee pain under control now. It is 6:45, just got in from running and it is already 78 degrees, good thing I went early since I don't have a treadmill. Time to start looking into the Y or something. I just hate to justify a gym membership but it is really getting hot.

. I don't know who exactly who figured this schedule out, but is was like they wrote it just for me. Every step was a stretch, but not too much.I have a couple more runs then I "graduate." I think I'm going to do the One Hour Runner program next and think about a training-type program (after I have lost some more weight) after that. I have a 5K scheduled in November.

Hi guys, I actually just checked the Couch potato thingie thread. I'm going to start day 1 week 1 on Monday. I have a very busy weekend, DH is coming home from Canada tomorrow night/Sunday morning so I'll have all this fish wormy chothes to wash on Sunday. Also meeting a girl from the shorties thread for lunch on Sunday, we've never met in person, she's coming through Ohio from WV on her way home from vacation, so we're meeting at Red Lobster for lunch.

Meant to say the website for the Couch potato to 5 k. I think it's doable, it's just with having another 52 pounds to lose, I don't want to take it too fast, I seriously don't want to die from a heart attack. But I know in time I will get there, a girl that I work with lost 80 pounds with running. SO, I know i can do it too. She's got an awesome body now too, even though I'm almost 52, I wouldn't mind having a pretty darn good body someday.

Me too Rebecca. I am going back to bed. The ONLY reason that I am up at 6 on a Saturday is because Zoey, the puppy, INSISTED on going to the bathroom. I had to take her out after she gave me kisses to wake me.

I finished week 2 on Sat night. Will download and start week 3 tomorrow night.
Crazy how I fret...wondering if its possible that I can even do it then suddenly I'm a couple weeks in on the program. It all starts with day 1. Anyone peeking in wondering if they can do it...dont worry, its at your own pace and its alot of walking to start out with. Give it a try! Commit 30 min to yourself. |

Hey folks!!!
It's been FOREVA since I posted but I just wanted to drop in to let you guys know that I'm still a C25ker!!! It may sound crazy but I think this program has actually kept me sane! During the last 3 weeks, everything at work turned upside down (layoffs, having to work late, taking work home in my head, etc.), stress has been on my like a winter coat and we lost a very close friend (wake is tonight, funeral tomorrow) but I've still managed to get my butt on the treadmill and struggle with these intervals! ![]() Today was W5D2 and, lemme tell you, I NEVER, EVER thought that I could run 8 minute intervals but I did...TWICE!! I'm really thanking God for blessing me with the strength to keep moving even when I wanted to quit! W5D3 will be Thursday and, yes, I'm worried as he!! about running 20 minutes non-stop but I'm approaching it by telling myself that I know I can run at least 8 minutes and anything over that will be LC gravy! If I can only get to 10 minutes or so then have to walk for a couple and go at it again then so what? Hopefully I'll find the time to come back and post soon but, if not, know that I'm still wishing you all the best and I'm proud of each of you for even trying this program! ![]()

![]() I hear ya on that. Last night I had the same experience with running "only" 3 minutes on Week 3 day 1. Its the first time Ive actually felt I can do this thing...this thing called running. This is what Ive learned from doing the C25k: -Dont eat much if anything right before but do have something right after (protein) -When running, stand straight up, eyes up and breathe through your nose as calmly and smoothly as possible -Try to land on your heels -Hydrate up about a half hour before -Its VERY important not to treat the walking part as a slowdown rest. Keep that walking pace up so the transition isnt so dramatic. anyone else? I'm a total amateur... have to share this: Last night while running I passed a turtle trying to cross the road. haha...seriously. Slow and Steady towards the goal. it was a great analogy for me to see and remember that I can do this...

Hey, you guys. I've been inspired by your own: Gina!
Thanks, Gina.... .....and congrats on your recent graduation.I'm waiting for some answers/help on how to download Robert's podcasts if you're not an Itunes subscriber. I want to download only the C25K program podcasts. I don't have an Ipod. I have a Sansung MP3. Does that matter? Anyhooo, completed the first session tonight. Boring silence. Not my style! Gotta have some tunes! But I did it. Yeah |

![]() Congratulations on finishing your first day I'm sure it will be the first of many great runs.I just sent you a pm with DS15's best instructions for getting the podcasts downloaded. He thinks you have to go through iTunes, but its free and so are the podcasts. That's the way I did it. As soon as I tried to load them iTunes popped up (but we already had it on the computer). If there is another way I'm sure someone out there in cyberland will know it. |

I think that there is a link from Ullery's site to download the mp3s that will work on any mp3 player.

Thanks, Pam & Gina.
I get it now! I'll get around to that today for sure! As I said in the reply PM to ya, Gina, I just assumed Itunes was a "snag" subscription service deal to lure people to buy only THEIR songs, etc., and locked you into a year long deal or whatever. Am I a skeptic or what? Sirius Radio did it to me .... another story.Everyone have a good day. |

Twyla, is that you in your avatar? If it is, you look awesome, if it's not, whoever it is does!!!
Didn't use the treadmill today, my lower back is KILLING me. Thinking about taking some Soma but it's so hard to get that from my doc that I only take it when I can't stand it any more. I feel like I'm coming down with a summer cold, so I don't know what in the heck is going on with me tonight. TGIF is all I have to say!!!! |

I am still sidelined with this sore leg. I am beginning to wonder if perhaps it is a stress fracture. It is slightly sore just moving it.
I did the bike for 20 minutes tonight instead. We went to look at ellipticals too, but I have not yet decided if I want to spend my money on one. |

Okay. I sort of goofed on my second attempt at C25k...well, sort of. I downloaded Week 1 and Week 2 to my laptop, and mistakenly loaded Week 2 onto my MP3 player early this morning.
When I returned from running errands this evening around 8:45 p.m., it was getting dark, so I quickly changed into my running clothes/shoes, grabbed the MP3 and out the door. Off I go, and I'm listening, walking briskly along for my warmup, when I hear the guy say, we will be doing Week 2 for our run today. HUH? Then I realized what I had done. I didn't have time to go back inside to upload Week 1, so I decided to go on and see how I'd do with Week 2. No issues. Did fine. Really enjoyed this!So I guess I should just stick with Week 2 for the next 2 times, and then move to Week 3? Anyway, it was great. I'm gonna really like this. GINA!!!![]()
