ADLMA, wow sounds like you sure have a solid plan in place!! I have heard many good things regarding Curves!!! Congrats on joining!! Please do keep posting here and keep us informed of your progress!
Hmmm,..so ya gonna be doing SS twice a day!! ..but.... I think you will quickly find that once a day will become quite enough!! I can't remember who it was here that tried doing it that often?, but anyways her arms became so sore... Now you may indeed be different and can handle it.....and if so...then I ....
You sound SO determined and thats IMHO 50% of the battle...the other 50% is..just doing it!!...and I believe you Will!!

I have been doing them twice a day for about a week now. I guess arms are sort of in shape already from lifting children all the time. On the other hand I still don't have my SS DVD's yet, so I may not be doing them right. I suppose I am at that eary stage when a person just wants some results FAST!

Wow-this is such great info, I am loving it!!!!!! Huge THX!

I have just ordered, I am one of those who has to see it
to make sure I am doing it right, God forbid I waist my time!!!LOL!!
(perfectionist I guess)

Okay so for everyone reading and still asking Ex#1 Bicep questions
I am confused too.

I forgot to get everyones names but,
the helpful person who writes in pink
mentioned arms are at side, raised as if
making T, others have said elbows at sides
with arms infront, fist pointed up as if
holding a baby.

Is one the callan way and one the SS way?
They both make me feel the burn.

Also someone mentioned Maximun, doing w/o
breaks, holding 100secs.
Does Greer say to move to this level?
Like going from 25secs, to 50secs, and up to 100?

Oh and tried the chair thing and boy my abs hurt!!!!!

Hugs to all, and best of luck with this.
I am really enjoying it!!!

Hi everyone!!! Can I sulk back in? LOL Life just jumped up and bit us all for a while..

I haven't done a thing... And so far this month, I ws going to change that.. And of course the past 2 days, I've been called on to do things for other people... That's OK, not complaining at all But tomorrow, as far as I know, my life will be my own again...**crossing fingers**

Hi Beth.. I think I messed up when I said arms out at the sides.. I had tried it that way, and I got a better burn from it, but everyone else says the holding the baby, way.. Honestly, I'm still confused... I never held a baby, the way my mind is seeing this movement...

Ooooooo, ya know what would be helpful to those of us who don't have the DVD yet.. Someone taking a picture of the proper position... **hint hint**

The one your asking about, if it's Callan or SS.. That move from SS is similar to Callan, but still different.. With Callan, you put your arms behind your back and raise them as far as you can, and do little pulses continualy, to 100.. With no fist or arm tightening... But palms turned up...

The SS way is to tighten your arms/fist, and squeeze your shoulders together for 25 seconds, release, then repeat raising your arms 2"...

Did that help you on those? Well, other than the one we're both confused on...

After three weeks since I ordered my SS, I still had not received my shipment. I called, after holding 15 minutes, I was told my order is on back order. Sooooo, anyone ordering now, be prepared to wait a good long time. It sure seems odd that others posted that they received theirs in about a week. Huuummm, makes me worry a little. Also, I called the same number yesterday, and message stating that the number was disconnected played. Yikes!!

I ordered mine directly from Greer, To ascertain the location of my order, I first E-mailed them, telling them I had not yet received my order and that the number on the site had a recording that it was disconnected. They did not E-mail back information on my order, but did ask if I called a certain number. As it turns out, I still had the number on my redial, and yes it was the same number. I then called the number again, waited my 15 minutes, before I got the answer.

I just ordered a book called, "The 7 Minute Miracle: Breakthrough Program To Banish Spot Fat Forever"... It sounds a lot like SS... I guess I'll find out when it gets here! And I'll be sure to post my thoughts about it... I got it used, and with S&H, it was still under $8.00.. I admit, I like DVD's so I can see exactly what it is I'm sposed to be doing, and there's no down time refering to the book, but, after a while those get pretty boring...LOL Yep, even a few minutes..

Ive read through all of the post in regards to Shapely Secrets.
I was hoping to find more post regarding actual results.

Is there another thread that focuses specifically on results? If not can anyone state if they have ...as the infomercial suggest...lost an actual dress size?

OK, for all wondering if SS works. . .I offer this: (I visited C's 5 times and did SS everyday -- sometimes twice a day during the past two weeks)

-6 pounds
-1 inch arms
-1 inch waist
-1 inch hips
-1 inch legs

The only things new in my life were the C's and the SS. I stil don't know if I do SS right or not, as I don't have my copy yet!

C's

ADLMA....would C's be Curves.
I joined last year and loved it. Lately my schedule hasnt allowed me to go like I should but I plan to get back into the swing of things soon.

I was considering combining my workout there with SS

Yes, it is Curves. I have only been seven or eight times and I love it. I do SS every day and Curves three times a week. Which one contributed most to the changes in my body? I am not sure, but I am not about to change a thing, just in case! I do SS basic in the morning now and advanced in the afternoon.

Haven't posted in awhile, but still doing SS. I have found that it is so effective and even though I've been doing it for some time now, my muscles still feel the burn when I'm done. With such a short routine, who would've thunk.

I've been thinking about Curves also. I can work out at home, but I need more structure to my routines. I do well for one week, then sluff off, either because of life getting in the way or whatever, so am going to take a run over there today and see if it's for me. If I have to put money out, I'll be more sure of sticking to it.

I too can work out at home. Over the years I bought this and that, for that very reason. I decided on C's, as it allows one to work out as hard or as light as they wish. In other gyms, I felt a little behind, when I was zigging and should have been zagging. At C's everyone does the machines the same and does their own thing at their own rate on the blocks. I joined with my sister, so we police each other and make sure we show up. I like it, and they will push you, if you ask them to. All I know is, I see results. Be it from C's or SS, or a combo, I don't know, but I'll take it any way I can get it!!!

Hi Mscreneet,
Thank you for your kind words. I am down another 4 more pounds in about a week. I only measured my waist, which is down one more inch. I encourage you to get back to C's as fast as you can and get SS'ing as soon as you get it. I even started BodyFlexing again. I am at the point that I will try almost anything to get the weight off, as I have tried for so so long without results. Now that I see results, I feel encouraged and want to add more to my routines, especially the things like SS and BF that don't take much time. I am considering T-Tapp, Calenetics, Bar or something along those lines, but can't decide what try. I am new to those types of workouts and am maybe not too well informed. I just know something's gotta help even more than what I am doing.

Hi! I am new here

and just wanted to chime in about the Body Flex program. I first started doing it in 2000. That was a year and some significant weight gain after my thyroidectomy. I saw results immediately and for the first time in a long time I saw my figure changing daily for the better. I never bought the video, but worked form the book. I came across the book in my local Borders and couldn't resist the title, "Be A Loser". I continued with the program with fantastic results until I took a new job the was very high stress and long hours. I gave up on BF because I didn't have the energy to do the 15 minute series of exercises. That was in 2002.

Recently I was diagnosed with the inability to convert T-4, Synthroid to T-3, metabolism. It took me three years to find a doctor who cared enough to keep running tests to find out why I continued to gain weight even while watching my caloric intake very carefully. She put me on a combination of Armour Thyroid and Cytomel and now I am well enough to begin Body Flex once again.

I just started about two weeks ago. After only four days my daughter came over on Sunday and told me how flattering my "new" jeans looked on me. Well.... they were the same jeans she told me at Easter didn't fit well and were not flattering at all. Way to go BF!

I also just ordered "The 7 Minute Miracle: Breakthrough Program To Banish Spot Fat Forever". The Body Flex program was nothing more than isometric exercises combined with breathing so I figure this is similar to The Seven Shapely Secrets, and much less expensive. We'll see.

Bottom line here is that no matter how goofy BF might look or sound while doing it it does work. At least for me.

Hi Everyone,

Haven't posted in a long while, but am still doing SS, and I am still loving it.

For the time I have to invest in this routine, it sure does give back lots in return.

Along with walking 3 miles a day, Callanetics, and SS, I believe I have found the ideal workout. I do mix it up a bit with my Total Gym, but since that is located on the lanai, it is too hot for a workout these days, so am doing the other routines.

I will add that SS was the routine that worked the quickest, and results were seen within one week, not by me, but my husband.
I had so many pairs of shorts put away cause they didn't fit me anymore, and so just out of curiosity, I tried a few on, and they fit, and fit well.

So to any of you who are doubtful about SS, please, you owe it to yourself to at least give it a try for awhile. You won't be sorry, trust me!

Anna who introduced me to SS, was my biggest motivator and is my champion. Thank you, gf!!!

HELP ! just notified me that "The 7 Minute Miracle: Breakthrough Program To Banish Spot Fat Forever". won't be available until the end of July. Does anyone know where I can order a copy to use now? I would like to try that before I spend almost $60 on SS.

Dee Len you look amazing!! Was SS all you did?

I paid the whole price and don't regret it. If it is cheaper online, wait and just do the work out as per, I think Caroline's instructions. I was, and I was doing pretty close to right!

Thanks for all the advice! I found the book online and went ahead and paid full price for it. They said it would ship tomorrow. Can't wait!

I am hoping that this will help to lower my blood pressure some.
