Hello ladies....
good afternoon, good evening,..whichever..depending on where you're at..... Well ,to say that I am tired is an under-statement!!,..I am pooped, worn out, crabby, and darn right bit**y,... Earlier i Fussed out DH and DS for something that i guess when you look at some of the real problems people face in life, was actually kinda minor.... naturally, after-wards i felt foolish for over reacting . You see, I am some what of a 'neat freak' and go to great lengths to make sure everything is in order before i leave, so when i come home and things are a tad messy,..well i get ....something i am certainly not proud of that at all,...to be honest tho, i was already in a funky mood before that Every once in a while i get like this ,..not often thank goodness, but when i do, i fully own up to my behavior.....Blame it on hormones, stress at work, lack of help around the house, the odd weather...whatever......I'm just a crab-apple today....Hopefully tomorrow I'll be in much better spirits... Well, ok enough of my drama...how's everyone doing.... kiki hon, how are you doing...Is everything alright ........geeze /don't ask me why/,...but some of my keys won't work...can't type question marks and such.... Sazzie...where ya at girlie / insert question make here, LOL /... Exercise wise, all i did SS....nothing else, matter of fact this entire past week I've not been walking or doing any of my WATP tapes/dvds for cardio as I should because i am still having problems with my darn foot , today being particularly bad.... I've been having problems off an on since December. I can go for weeks, no pain...than bam..I'm back to almost limping again..Dr.said nothing was broken per all the xrays he ordered. so I dunno what to think....Anyhoo,..I sure hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Don't know how long it will last, but our weather here was really good, today was close to 80... Bye for now be back tomorrow..

Hi Everyone,
Anna, so sorry you're having problems with your foot. I can relate as last June when I was nursing my daughter with her own sprained ankle, I developed a pain in my left foot and had to stop going to the gym, my power walking, and was limping in the house from one room to the other. I had X-rays, MRIs, and none of the doctors helped me. They referred me to pt, which did no good at all until I finally saw a psysiatrist (neuromusclar) doctor. Every one of the previous doctors told me to stay off the foot, and pamper it. This doctor gave me nerve tests, and did them himself, and told me I had tendinitis, and to get a wobble board and to NOT pamper it. I started out by walking 1 mile....and did that hurt ....was limping the entire mile with my husband following me on his bike. The next day the pain was less, and got increasingly less with time. Now I'm up to walking 5k and not a problem..... Well, I'm sure you wanted to hear all that, but just thought I'd share it just in case you're having a similar problem. My SS is going along very nicely, and I've incorporated Callan with it, and I do HURT!! I was at a stall, and I've lost a full size since starting SS. I've also been taking VCO regularly for about a month, so I can't say if it was the VCO or the SS that broke my stall.....I suspect it was a combination, but I will say that SS is shaping my body beautifully. I mean to tell ya, it sure is worth the 5-7 minutes a day to get such awesome results. Hey, I've got to stop yapping, or I'll bore you all, and wouldn't want to do that! ![]()

Hi all..
Yesterday was a total lose... Itwas cloudy, rainy and cold.. But at least it wasn't snowing feets of the snow.. We did get about 5-10 minutes of it mixed withthe rain tho.. Today is a bright, sunny, beautiful day.. Spring time in the Rockies... I had such plans for yesterday, but all I did was sit here, and I did get 1 1/2 miles in on the treadmill.. That's all tho.. Anna, you're just so sweet ask about me.. I'm doing OK, Still waiting on the test results.. Hopefully they'll be in no later than Wed... I'm believing they'll be just fine and dandy, and I just have great Dr's who want to leave no stone unturned, just to be safe.. I'm sorry to hear you had such a crummy day, and I do hope things got better for you.. And I pray your foot is feeling better... Forgive me, but I don't remember if you've posted in this thread what happened to you...Sazzie, I'm so happy you found someone to help you get relief.. Who woulda thunk to do more for it, and not baby it! |

I've never uploaded a DVD to my computer as I'm still learning. My pc does not have a DVD player, but I will try to upload it anyway to one of my web photo sites after my league this afternoon. In the meantime, what exactly are you unsure about? Maybe I can help you via posting. |

I was on an antidepressant for 6 years and think that contributed to my weight gain. I need to lose 50 lbs!!! Anyway, any support I can get I NEED! thanks everyone to great posts. Very encouraging!

1st one.. According to the instructions given, hold yourt arms straight out to your sides, making a sort of 'T' using your body and arms.. Then bend your arms up at the elbows, like a man flexing his muscles.. Squeeze for 25 seconds.. Raise your arms, keeping that position, 2", repeat the squeeze, raise 2" more, repeat one more time, raising 2"... 2nd one... arms will be straight, but you have them behind you, pointing out, at the wall behind you... Squeeze them tight, release, raise 2', for a total of 4 squeezes and 4, 2" raises each time... 3rd... I've already told you.. You MUST stand on the balls of your feet.. [TIppy toes} The balls are the fatty part, right below your toes... Push out your pelvis {lower ab, basically} pulling your butt in, towards the front of your body, and squeeze your butt for 25 secons.. release, and repeat 3 more times... If anyone else can explain it better, please do.. And if you still can't get it Dani, order your own DVD, so you can actually see it being done... I hope this has helped... Last edited by RockyMtnAngelEyes; 03-26-2007 at 10:08 PM.. |

Dani,
I do apologize, but am unable to load the DVD to my computer. I have been having intermittent problems with the pc, and since I don't have a DVD player on the pc, I don't think it can be done from this end. |

Good morning,..
Dani, Kiki, Sazzie, Daisy,.......and most certainly Everyone else... Happy Palm Sunday...to all..... Sorry that I've been kinda slack round here lately, i've seriously not been on line that much,..unless i get a few moments to sneak on while at work ....Speaking of work; i finally made a decision and am currently in the process of changing employers. I will be moving from an acute care setting to doing something I love which is Home Health, only this time it will be via a private agency. My last day at the hospital will be the 10th, I will be taking a few days off then begin my new job there-after. I am excited to be back out working in the field again!! My hours will be some what flexible too....and...NO nights or weekends So,..do share,..how has everyone been? I am actually doing a tad better with my foot!! I remembered what Sazzie posted about being told to NOT pamper her foot...and so little by little I've been pushing myself to get out doors and do more ( meaning walking) I also ditched my ole Nursing clogs and brought 2 good pair of "New Balance" cross trainers. one pair for exercise and the other pair for work and let me tell ya after being on my feet for 12 hours, altho they might not be as cute as my clogs, they sure DO make such a difference and my poor tired feet at the end of the day...feel great! ...I'm a convert now for sure!!I am still SS-ing....and will post some pictures soon...Several of my co/ Nurses are doing it now too!! I always stress to them to still get some form of cardio in daily if possible... Well I better get working on dinner...So far i know that i'll be Roasting a whole chicken, not sure about the side dishes yet....have a wonderful day my friends...oh and kiki i have been meaning to tell ya , altho i suspect that you already been told this a ba-zillion times,...but anyways ...your pic reminds me of Pam Anderson.... catch ya later ladies.. |

It sounds like the 2nd and 3rd exercise is something that is done very similiar with callanetics. But I could be wrong, as I haven't seen the particular exercise. This does sound interesting, but I don't want to waste my money as I'm already doing Turbo Jam (the program that sculpts, firms and tones) as well as Callanetics.

Laura,
The 2nd exercise in SS is similar to Callanetics....holding your arms behind your back in 2 inch increments pinching your shoulders in for your triceps for 4 reps. 25 seconds each. Callan reaches back at full length as if to touch thumbs. The timing is different, but in essence they are similar. The 3rd exercise in SS is also similar to Callanetics; however, I am finding it easier to hold my butt in a lot tighter in SS when I stand on my toes. I am doing both Callan and SS, and find they compliment each other very nicely. With Callan and SS, and my walking, I think I've hit the jackpot as far as working out. I get my muscles burning, and my cardio. As a matter of fact, since I've started these programs, I hardly get on my Total Gym anymore, not because I don't like it, but there's simply not enough time in my day to include more. |

Hey
Hey Everyone! I haven't even been online much since I first joined this thread. My computer is crashed and I have to use my husband's at night when he gets home. I got my ss dvds TODAY!! I did the first work out, it seems silly it's so simple. BUT, i like her diet plan and the way she shows you to write stuff down and chart your success. Have any of you had any good results since getting your dvd/s? I remember reading that some of you had ordered them after hearing about Anna. Well, I hope your new job is working out Anna. take care everyone, not sure how often I can post, but I love reading about all your successes. Thanks for including me into your little thread!
Take care, DAISY |

This sounds interesting and I am going to start do the excercises as well. I just want to make a note and the fist hands. I read somewhere that clenching the fist can higher blood pressure and create a risk if you are at risk. It T-Tapp we do doughnut hands, you make an O and press your fingers really hard into thumb if that makes sense, and that is the way I will performs the arms.

I was up around 5 AM this morning when Shapely Secrets infomercial came on and I watched the whole hour hoping that she would give away some secret or atleast one workout to do.
I've read pretty much every post on this thread...I've used some of the directions that someone already posted and I was really impressed!!! The thing is...I'm 16 and have absolutely no job. So I have no way to order the dvd's or anything. So, most of the things are posted, maybe I missed the others, but is there anything else to this workout that I should know? I'm trying to lose a few inches in 3 weeks! Please and thankyou!!! |

Hi All,
I've not seen any recent posts about anyone doing SS. I am still a SS fan, and am doing it as a regular part of my workout. Still loving it, and feel it is an integral part of my routine. The results are awesome as my husband so clearly points out to me! I have Anna to thank for introducing me to SS. Where are you?!!! |

Hello everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wanted to quickly pop in to let ya know that i am STILL here, still SS-ing ( altho NOT as much as I once was..) I started a new job recently, matter of fact even earlier that I was expecting...and let me tell ya...lately I am tired...tired...tired... ( hey did I mention that I was tired.. ) The job itself is not so hard, just that I am still in orientation and been "floating" with several Nurses ( a different Nurse every couple of days.. ) So trying to learn the routes, all the different patients and their varying needs, the paper work involved ...and all the other stuff...has really been keeping me busy.. My days are Long!!..The major plus is that I am off every weekend ,..ah... but for the last couple of weeks, I've been spending just about all my weekends....catching up on all the household things that I let slack during the week..... Once I come off orientation and begin holding my own...things will no doubt settle down for me some...I So very much NEED to get back into my regular work out routine!!! Weight wise, thankfully I am actually holding fairly well I just miss my daily walking and SS-ing....I have only been SS-ing 2/3 times per week,..if that much... Oh and I also MISS you all here too ... Hi and ~~~ waves~~~ Sazzie,...Daisy, Rocky-mountain-eyes...and most certainly everyone else!!...geeze I am so darn tired I can't think right,..much less remember everyones names....I will be back again tomorrow...take care and please do still keep SS-ing, cause it really does work!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Hi Anna,
I am new at all this. I purchased SS, then had major regrets, before it arrived. I searched the WEB for information. I too called it Slender Secrets, which brought me to your posts. I read them all. (My SS still has not arrived.) I feel it is important to thank you for motivating me to lose weight. I go today to my first meeting at Curves. Reading your posts and an incident Monday spurred me on. I'll share my "incident". I decided to grill a low carb meal for my DH. I brought the grill to the paved driveway near the house. The meal turned out great. The incident happened when I decided, for the safety of my children, to move the hot grill far from the house. This is when the pavement, grill, and my DH's car conspired against me. From what I recall, the grill, (one of those Webber's that looks like an alien with a big black ball for a head and skinny silver legs) grabbed my leg and would not let go. I jumped a few times, nearly releasing its grasp, when my DH's car jumped forward, blocking my escape! The pavement sucked my body to its hard surface. Praise God I missed the hot grill and the orange coals it spilled about! Now, I'm in a fix. As I lay on my back, wedged between hot coals and a large car, I realize a slimmer woman would simply sit up and rise to her feet. I, however, being not so slim, remain on my back, after landing on my side, hands, and elbow (all of which are filled with pebbles and I don't want to think of what else). I pondered several things during my respite: how blue the sky was, how nasty the car must be, how close those darned coals are to my super long hair, that silly old comercial jiggeting in my mind, "I've fallen, AND I can't get up!". I hear my 3-year-old's little sneakers patting across the pavement, then the slam of the house door, then her faint cries, "Oh Mommy, Mommy, Mee! Oh Mommy, Mommy, Mee!" I can only assume she slammed (and locked) the door to assure the ill tempered grill did not persue her next. I heard my 2-year-old crying too. I was able to move just so, and could see my 8-year-old, wide-eyed and gapping mouthed. About this time my DH, a trained observer, detects something gone wrong in the front yard. The door flings open with great speed, and his tall frame exits the house, yelling, "What's going on here?! I want answers!" Feeling the crime scene spoke for itself, I only answered that I fell. Then came the pulling and tugging, in an attempt to force the pavement to release its grasp on my body. Needless to say, he required coaching, to wit I began, "Pull, Huuuun! Imma big woman! Brace yourself with the car!" Good grief. I was happy that big car was there to block the view from passers-by! Needless to say, my DH took the grill into custody, and escorted it back to its home in the garage. I moved that thing again yesterday, and don't you know, it tried to attack me again. I was much wiser the second time, and escaped with minor injury. Anyway, it was a huge dose of reality. I need changes fast! I began the SS and described, I think by Carolyn. I feel sore muscles. I got inspired by your story and honesty, Anna. I am not as large as you were when you started, but I know witout consitancy, I may well be. I admire what YOU did! YOU GO GIRL! AND thank you! I am so sorry for your incident. I'm glad you weren't injured, but I'm glad it got you motivated. I am trying to follow this woe so I don't have an incident like that. It could happen so easily.
Good luck with Curves and your life changes. It sounds like SS is a good investment. I have been doing the ones that are posted. (Not sure if I am doing them completely right, but I feel it, so it counts!) Take care! |

Thank you for your concern, regarding my attack. It can happen very easily to anyone, but us heavy girls run more risk of injury. I am not sure what stopped me from being quit injured, but. . .I am OK.
I wish you the best in your endeavor! I hope I am doing SS right too. My copy still is not here! I am not sure what takes so long. I will say, be it right, or be it wrong, when I do SS (as described on this thread), I get more burn than I got at Curves. Also, I read that the advanced SS is sitting in a chair, knees to the front of you, then turning to the right, holding the arm of the chair (I use the back), draw in and tense up your tummy, just like when you SS your arms and bottom. Hold for a 25 second count, and repeat, until you complet 4 reps. Then do the left side the same way. I guess this answers the question of, "What about the abs?" I don't know if this makes sense or if it right, but I do know, it gives a burn, just like the other SS. If it is right, it saves us all on buying the advanced. Maybe we will elect someone to buy the advanced! Har, har, har! Last edited by ADLMA; 04-28-2007 at 08:34 AM.. |

Hello Ladies...
Welcome: ADLMA,.., Laura, thisrightnow, Purrgirl and Brandy1..... ~~waves~~ to Kim, amandaorr, Sazzie, and daisy106...and certainly everyone else!! ADLMA,..Thankyou for "your" thankyou.. ..As hon I am happy to just be here and sharing my experience!! I'm still a work in progress tho, but SO blessed to not be...where I once was.... I'm glad that you were not seriously hurt...geeze the things ( well the weird and unexpected things) that can certainly happen... Well, I am ever so grateful to finally be back to my former exercise routine!! I am now SS-ing everyday and really feeling it.... I decided to STOP waiting for my hectic work schedule to calm down,...and stop using that as an acceptable excuse to slack up... ...I already know fully that exercise is key..cause I not only want to look good...but feel good as well......and exercise sure does make me feel good I decided a few days ago to get back on track..NOW!!,..not next week, next month or even after my orientation is over,..but Now, meaning right then!!...and so I'm full speed with my continued healthy eating and increased workout routine. I've been power walking 30-40 minutes a day ( in the evenings),then coming home and doing my 7 minutes of SS followed by my 200 Ab crunches.. I decided that there was absolutely NO Kim, hon how ya doing? Sazzie, I LOVE how you got it all put together,..incorporating SS along with everything else!!....Its still kinda funny ( and I guess a tad sad) that there are still some who don't think SS, mainly the "only 7 minutes" part, could do anything, let alone produce such great results... I've seen first hand, several "nay-sayers"...give it an Honest try...and have now become "Yay_sayers"...take care everyone, have a great evening and I'll pop back in tomorrow.. Anna ![]() |

Anna,
I wrote down all my inches and pounds. I do Curves 3 days next week, after joining last Friday, SS twice a day, 200 crunches, and try to get in a 30 min walk every day. The only thing that is new in my routine is the SS and Curves. After two weeks of SS and one week of Curves, I'll report back any changes. I think I am the only one that mentioned that they measured when starting. In the past, I would drop pounds then, without reason, gain them back. . .no change in anything. I packed on 85 pounds in 2 years. I found out my thyroid is off, so began medication for that. I am anxious for some changes fast! I wish you well on your new job. I hope you love it! ![]() |
