Mary~ It sounds like you got a nice little, yet demanding, workout in!
100 seconds is 1 minute 40 seconds, although it equals about 2 minutes if 5 seconds is taken between each 25 second set. That is equivalent to 6 minutes without the face exercises. ![]() |

Hello Everyone!!
I am at work, (been pulling 12 hour shifts) , so not much time last few days, when I'm off to log on at home. I'm sorry for not having the time to do any personals right now, plus I need to go back and read any recent posts before I do... Anyway, I just "Had" to sneak on here quickly, LOL to update my progress and share my good news with you all..... Well as some of you may already know, I only weigh 1x per month, normally on the 10th. ( I used to be a real "Scale Junkie"...) Anyway I weighed this morning, ( yeah a whole day late, LOL) And I am pleased, .....NO I'm totally darn Slap-happy to report that I am now at 182.6!!!!!!!!!!!! I am almost OUT of the 180's,...can ya believe that?.....( coming from a once 330+, you have no idea what an accomplishment that is for me to finally achieve!!)...I so clearly remember that day I got on my newly brought WalMart scale which went up to 330lbs....I was all excited to get an official starting weight. I stepped on, looked down.and the numbers read..."Error"...Being in denial as I was, I thought it was the scale,..ya know..as in "defective / broken"..and was even going to return it to the store, until I had my DD get on..and it registered her weight..exactly I can laugh now, ..looking back, but trust me emotionally...at that time,..it was So NOT funny... I feel way confident now that those upper numbers are forever behind me!! Even before stepping on the scale, I just Knew I had loss, cause of the way some of my clothes were fitting. For instance, yesterday I had on a pair of my "normal" what I call ...my everyday-hanging -around -the -house -kinda jeans and get this...they were touching the floor!!....When I say touching almost dragging the floor, I am talking about the bottoms / Legs. At first I thought I was shrinking in height, LOL...But quickly realized that the legs were longer...because those jeans were fitting much looser and thus much lower on my hips!!Ok, now back to the potential question at hand..."Is doing SS responsible for the weight loss?".....In all honesty,..."No"...I honestly had to limit and watch what all I've been eating lately. Now "Is SS responsible for the lost inches on my hips and thys?"...Answer is...an absolute YES!!...A thousand yeses!! ....My arms are coming along nicely, however I am far from seeing myself going sleeve-less...Perhaps by summer...who knows..... Ok gotta run...I hope everyone here is doing well...Catch ya soon... ![]()

Anna~ I am SO happy you posted today! You're excitement is contagious! I am sure seeing your new scale reading "ERROR" was not a laughing matter, however what an incredible recollection of where you were and now how far you've come!
I WILL be doing SS today! I did it for one week, then nothing for a week. I am due! ![]() |

Hi,
Just checking in for an update. I made the mistake of not measuring before I started SS, but that's OK, cause it's being noticed. Hubby made a comment to me about 4 days ago, and commented that I was looking smaller, but yesterday.....Wow! He told me that my derrière 'was definitely looking smaller' and believe me, he is not one to give empty compliments. We went to the Gate River Run marathon yesterday, and did the 5k/walk (with an additional 2 miles), but before we left our hotel for the Start Line, I did my 9th session of SS. Anna I can't thank you enough for introducing SS to me, along with all your advice. I have a special place in my heart for you. I took today off, cause I usually do on Sundays, but I did go for a one mile walk just cause I felt like it. I agree that SS will not do too much for losing weight; only good eating habits and consistent exercise can accomplish that. But for firming and toning, and cumulative inch loss.........SS it is!!

I'm SO happy that you are enjoying SSLuvslipstick & marmoura....Welcome ...... to the Both of you for giving SS a try and adding it to your exercise routines!! Oh and ..I can SO relate to the arms hurting afterwards...been there...many times...Just wait till your behind starts feeling the same way too...wowza.. There were several others here that tried SS but seem to have faded away...Or perhaps ,.. ,.. ...they are just too darn sore to type ....On a serious note, I truly hope that they have not ( as I have done a ba-zillion times )...Tried something for a day or so or perhaps even longer...then for whatever reason...kinda gave up....telling myself...that ..crap..this too...did not work..either.. .....Like I said before...Consistency is key!!.... Hi there.. I'm one who was around at the beginning of this.. I didn't just fade away!
What I did do was get really, really sick.. And before I did, girl child was sick with it.. It took us both out for almost 3 weeks each.. I was so tired and stressed, the last thing on my mind was any kind of workout... Add to that a few other issues and a sick kitty...My plan is to get back on the workout track tomorrow.. The treadmill, some DVD's and the SS... We're getting teased with beautiful spring weather here {which won't last at this time} But by the time the real thing gets here, in a few short weeks, I want to be in shape for it.. I plan on checking in and reading everyones progress, as well as posting my own..

Wow, I'd say that being that ill would take anyone out of the exercise routine. So glad you're feeling better, and glad to have you back with us. I am still in awe as to how SS is working. Even on days I have to abbreviate my other routines, I always do the SS and my walks. Here in Florida, Spring has already sprung, so I really have to be diligent now and not slack on any routine. But, I will admit, I was out in the garden the past couple of days, and I was hurting. So, it won't be a complete loss of exercise if I do miss something. |

Gracie and Anna, thanks so much for the well wishes.. We're happy we're all better...LOL
I just did my first SS session in who knows how long.. I'm so not sure I'm doing the arms ones correct.. At first I was holding my arms out to each side and moving up, then I see the baby analogy.. So tonight I started with them at my sides, elbows at waist but bent, with my forearm going out in front of me {like I was holding a tray on them, or baby} I did the 25 sec sequence, then moved them up so elbows are now in the same position, but moving up to approx. mid rib level, and so on.. Is this right? Did I explain it so you can understand? I want to do it correctly... I have my grandmas arms, and it's not a pretty sight...LOL I loved them, but I so don't want their upper arms... |

Hi Ladies
![]() Kiki sounds like you Are doing them correctly!!...Oh can I ever Relate...to the "Grandma arms"...I have upper arms like that myself... During the Winter, and Fall and most of Spring,..I can deal with it, no biggie, however during the hot humid days of Summer, dressing for things like going to the beach, takes some creativity, as I dare not expose my arms too fully or wave at anyone...least I might frighten innocent children away.. oh well, I'll keep on keeping on cause they are looking better and in the mean-time, I won't let that stop me from having fun anyways... Have a wonderful day All..Catch ya tomorrow.. |

Hi SSers,
I, too am just popping in to say hello. I've been doing my SS routine every day, and it has now become an ingrained habit. Took less than two weeks to get to this point, and I don't want to break it. Trying to incorporate Callanetics into my day, but finding it difficult. I really want to do Callan too, so I'm working on that bit of time management. Today we walked another 5 miles for charity, and we just got home after spending the remainder of the day with son and dil. My feet are hurting, cause I really put some extra effort into my power walking, so am gonna go get a cup of hot tea with VCO and just chill. Keep up the good work, and let us all know how each of you is doing. |

I'm just checking in too.. I haven't been keeping up with them as well as I'd like.. I'm having a new medical issue...
I tell ya what, it does seem like when it rains it pours.. I'm not really complaining, because my family and I have truly been blessed with no major health issues.. It's just very stressful and I've been down more than up, it seems..Oh well, this to shall pass, and I am going to do my SS right now... May not be the best thing, as I'm going to a play tomorrow, and I can feel the pain already, just thinking about applauding... Anna, thank you for confirming I seem to be doing them right... I apprecite that... Let's get rids of our grandma's arms! |

Don't feel bad Dani, I don't feel it in my legs either.
Does anyone else shake while you are squeezing/holding? I shake. I wonder what causes that. |

Hi all.. Puter offer here...LOL I have been so good at not doing anything, because of stress and all that stuff..
I swear I will get to this and do it daily, starting tomorrow! I can't keep letting the stresses and garbage of life, keep me from doing anything... I am good at that tho... Anna, the 'play' was more of a musical review of 50's songs.. Not sure if they think the audiance wouldn't catch it, but there were some 60's songs in there, and they were doing the twist, which didn't come about till 61-62ish... We were all talking the next day at the soup kitchen, and mostwere like I was.. It was good, but not what we were expecting... Oh, it's called, The Tafetta's... I hope your work situation is getting better, Anna... Thanks for the hugs too.. I had a biopsy this morning, and now it's hurry up and wait for those results... I'm believing it's going to be just fine, and this is just another in their being overly cautious, thorough, and making sure.. I'm just getting old, that's all... Hi Dani.. Welcome to LCF and our little thread... If you use your leg muscles that you use inthe move, you may not feel it. Or yes, you might be doing it wrong.. Would you want to post how you're doing it, and maybe we can help? I know there are times tho, that I don't feel it much, then other times I just wanna cut off my legs they hurt so bad.. Not from the SS, as you read I haven'tbeen good at doing it so far, but from Callanetics, which has a move that is pretty much the same.. Sorry, I can't help you on the diet. I never follow any of the ones that come with any workout... I learned years ago what works for me, and unlike my makeup, stick with it... |
