Please don't laugh at me - I tried doing the exercises from the written descriptions and hurt myself. I'm such a klutz! I think I was holding my arms wrong. I pulled a muscle in my shoulder and my neck. lol! Yes, I feel foolish

I can't afford the tapes, but I can't afford not to lose weight, so I went ahead and bought both BF & SS on eBay.

I googled and read the reviews about the SS website, and didn't want to take a chance on having the same problems lots have other folks have had dealing with them.

I'm hoping the tapes arrive sometime next week, and then I can understand both programs better.

I'm actually going to try and do both every day (masochist) plus 30 minutes on my exercise bike every day. I'm up to 17 minutes, and am trying to add 1 minute a day (I'm a wuss!).

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome

I went back and copied the other lower body SS movement (in the chair) (so easy to find your posts all in pink!) So are there just the total 4 movements or did I miss others? 2 upper and 2 lower, minus the face ones? Sorry for all the questions, I want to try and find the tapes at a lower rate, it seems that if you see them once or twice you wouldn't need them anymore and they are so expensive. Like you I think, I have spent so much money on expercise tapes, it is hard to justify spending more right now. I really appreciate your patience in answering all my questions and so quickly too. Good Luck to you, I will be reading to see how you are progressing
I didn't have them, but yes, I do now... A wonderful friend gave me a copy of her's, for my Mom. I watched it, before I sent it onto Mom, so that I would be able to help her thru if she had questions... Then when I felt like I could get them, and I'd do them, I found the set, online at a good price...

I agree, after seeing them, you'd probably be able to do them without the tape, but... I personally like to have the timer on the screen, with someone 'doing' it with me, even tho she really isn't.. I'm easy to fool...

I have always had the BF {Body Flex} just not the SS { Slender Secrets}

I'll have to look at the DVD, and compare to what was posted on the moves. Honestly, I don't remember how many there were... Not a lot I know that.. I'll check it out after while, and let you know for sure...

To funny you mention my posts easily found. That's the ONLY way I can find them too... Even with my picture there...

***I bought 3 more workout DVD's today... All dancing ones, which is a great workout! I used to just turn the radio on, and dance around the house.. Try that!

Glad you found them. I was the same way. No messing with the SS site, I went the way you did...

Don't over do, and get tired of doing! That's a mistake I always seem to make. You'd think we'd learn huh...

The PG is a hidden forum... You have to be a member for a certain amount of time, and have a certain amount of posts, then it magically appears to you...

You have plenty of posts, and I think are very close to the time... I forget the exact amount of time.. It's in the TOS, I 'think'..

You could PM a mod {I suggest Cheri} and ask for sure...

Be warned tho, when you get access, you need you big girl panties, a lot of times...

Hi Kiki and friends..

Gosh..I need to start back on BFlexing..I was losing inches like crazy when I was doing it...

So, I need to be accountable..I go to my faux Curves for about 45 minutes or so every day, but I need to get more of an aerobic exercise..The BFlex breathing is the key I do believe..(even though she was sued for false advertising), I do think it works for me.

I'm starting back tomorrow.... Let's be accountabile, K?

Carolyn, Let me be another to Thank you for posting the SS exercises for us on this thread so that we did not have to put out tons of money for three moves - I wish I had the DVD but I think I can make out with your descriptions and Kiki's clarification, now adding that wacky breathing is another thing.

Question for you, when you stopped BF did you gain back the inches lost or just stop losing more??

Good luck to you. Let me know how it is going, I am so hoping SS works for me, nothing else has lately and it is very discoraging.

Going up now to do SS and then to bed. Good to finally meet you.

Don't feel like that! I'm sure a lot of people don't know, who have been here... It is addicting, I'll say that!

The TOS is, terms of service, think. You had to agree to it, when you signed up. And like most everyone, you just did it, without reading...

I think it's on the front page?

Sweetie, you aren't a pest!!!

I'll check the moves tomorrow, if that's OK. Been familying here...

Carolyn!!! Good to see you girl!

I'm thinking of maybe tomorrow or by the weekend, starting back with the BF..

I agree, it's the breathing.. I could see her being sued over 'stealing' this from her ex SIL, who is a lovely woman. But the suit and saying it's a rip pff/fraud, or however they worded it... I also visit a BF board, tho haven't for a while. It's not very active, but I read all the old posts, and belong to a BF email board...

Pushing, just to clairfy, the breathing is for the BF, not the SS.. Altho, I guess if you wanted to try to do the breaths with the SS, you could...

Kiki, You are a wealth of information. Found TOS and you have to have 60 posts and be a member for 60 days to get into PG- I have a few more days!

As for the breating, I think someone posted that the abdonda exercises are the SS with the BF breathing so I was trying to put together but I feel like an idiot and don't know if I am doing right. I am looking at a set of Abonda VHS on ebay I hope I win, I don't care that VHS as I think I will only need to watch a few times.

Thanks again for all your advice and help - Your Great!!!!

Pushing, you're right! I don't have the Abdonda, so totally forgot about that... Yeah, the breathing is pretty much something, IMO, you do have to see done.. It's hard to explain..After your last hard breath out, you pul in your stomach and 'lift' it up towards your rib cage... That's the only way I can think of to explain it..

I know my book is around here, close... I'll look for it too, to see how Greer explains it, then post...

I think I really tightened up the flab when I did Bodyflexing on a regular basis.
My favorite program is the 9 minute Advanced program. I do have the "bar" and should use that more, too..grumble..

I'll try to describe the wacky breathing..I do the advanced breathing which is a bit harder and more effective..Let me tell you about that.

Step 1. Breathe in deeply through your nose..and hold it for a second or two..
Step 2. Then breathe out through your mouth making a "pah" sound..
Step 3. Suck in your tummy and hold your breath for 8 seconds..(this is when you do your exercise thing)
Step 4: Then repeat Step 1..breathe in deeply...

Note: The 'pah" sound should sound like dying horse..LOL or it is like pushing the air out of your mouth..

Make sense???

My BF dvd and bar arrived yesterday. I watched the review last night. My first thought is how am I ever going to get through this with people underfoot all day. I have 2 daughters in their early 20's and my husband in an out off and on all day.

The breathing with your tongue sticking out and your eyes rolled back in your head is hilarious. My family is going to think I'm out of my noodle!

I did the full breathing and basic exercises today. It was a bit hard for me to get the hang of. I'm surprised how much of a work out it really is. I was ready for a break when I was done.

Also I was mortified when I tried to do the exercise where you cross your legs. Ummmm . . . you want me to do what?!?!?

I'm tickled to have one day under my belt.

I also joined the Biggest Loser challenge thread and have met some nice folks over there. Starting for me is always the hardest part. I feel like I'm on my way!

Thanks everyone!

re: the 'pah' sound. That's the sound exactly! I think the important part of that step is to use your lower lungs and diaphram to forcefully blow the air out, not your upper chest. So it's a really deep PAH. (not a huh in the back of your throat).

I know the DVD's are expensive :-( We are on such a shoestring it was a hard decision. Even so, I think they are worth it to get it down right. They were a treat for myself, as I'm trying to learn that yes, I'm worth it!

Caroline, You do a great job of explaining these things thank you. When you do the breaths to you do the tongue hanging out and eyes rolled back like in that demo tape and Addie-rose is talking about - really really crazy!

Kiki, I did not win the videos YET there are other sets on there so I am going to keep trying. for now I am just going to follow the directions you guys have given. Thank you, Thank you again. Like I said before I really need this to work - I really don't need the upper body work only lower body but I have been doing them all for now.

Addie-Rose thanks for the extra clarification, each little bit helps. I am trying to get the abdonda videos on e-bay - being patient for a good deal. Good luck to you just started. Great Job. Please post how you are doing, it seems that everyone who was doing regularly has checked out so no results posted lately that I can like vicariously through until I start seeing results of my own

Pushing 40,

I didn't do the BF tapes yesterday, but I did the full regular workout today. Today is day 2 and I'm getting the hang of it better.

I hope you can win a tape. Bidding at the last minute really helps get a better price. I bought the BF set with a best offer. The CD w/bar was $15 and $9 shipping, so not too bad.

The SS set was a LOT more, but still less than the website. It still hasn't arrived. I'm hoping it does in the next few days.

I'll keep everyone posted how it goes :-)

Hello Addie (I love that name). I did not win those tapes but have my eye on some others. You got a good deal on yours.

I only did the standing butt SS yesterday and I still need to do them today. I really only need the lower body, hips and thighs, but I am afraid if I skip the others too much I will compromise my results. I did sneak a peak with the measuring tape and I did not see any difference yet - I want this to work for me, I swear I will do it everyday for life if I can get those last few pockets of fat to go away. Help with joint pain?

Hello Everyone

I was wondering if someone could tell me if doing BF helps joint pain.

I have been in terrible pain since july. In the right knee I have a meniscus tear(I think it finally healed) and osteoarthritis in both knees. I was wondering(hoping) BF would help. I'm desperate for some relieve. I have tried everything.

Thanks for any help.

Well, I haven't BFed for two days. I came down with a cold and can't breathe through my nose. Oh, woe is me! Hope those Zycam melts work like they are supposed to.

Pushing 40 I would seriously recommend the book, Be A Loser, rather than the BF tapes. You can probably pick up a used copy on Amazon for cheap since it is out of print.

Thank you for the reccomendation. I will try to find it.

I just bought it on e-bay for $5. Thanks again.

Hi..

Pushing, I'm so sorry I haven't gotten back to you... Life has gotten in the way around here.. I check out what you asked for tomorrow...

Personally, I like the tapes along with the book, as it has Greer showing you just how to do the breathing part, and the positions, and I think it's good to follow along with her a few times, till you get it down well... When I stop for a while, I always have to go back for a refresher on the tapes... I have no way to copy the tapes or I'd be happy to do that for you..

The book does have more positions in it, than the tape.. And it kind of a good read.. No way tho, do I really believe she had the weight problems she claims.. She has not ever shown a picture to prove it.. I could be wrong... I just have very strong doubts about it. Either way, it does work, so whatever...

I'm one anyway, who needs to really see it done. Especially that breathing and tummy movement...

Thanks for any help.
Have you tried fish oils and MSM?

Hi Kiki, I agree, I do need to see it. I still have my out on ebay for the tapes too. Just the picture you showed me helped tremendously.

I have a question for you. I really don't need any upper body or ab work it really is all in my hips and thighs do you think I can get away with just doing the lower body stuff - I know it is just a few minutes but I hate the arms, I will do it though if you think it helps to do it all. So far no real results although it has gotten easier. I really am at a stalemate with my hips and thighs!!!!! I just want to lose about two inches off of each - but they don't
