Wow, 8 inches is phenomenal -- and in about 2 months! Congrats!!!

A question on the fanny exercise -- hold in the stomach too while doing it?

Will SS have any effect on my thighs?

Yes, hold in your stomach while you squeeze your rear. By doing that you will feel all of the muscles in your legs contract. Remember to stand on your toes. In the Advanced one you do it sitting. Sit on the edge of your chair and hold in your stomach while squeezing your rear. Be sure you keep your feet as though you are standing on your toes .

I found that this reduced the size of my thighs almost within the first week. It works the quads, your hamstrings, your calves, and your ankles all at once.

If you are having problems or just not feeling it. I would recommend the advanced DVD. As I have said before it is only $19.99+shipping.

I have read through the posts here and I decided I just had to get this dvd and try it.
Problem is...I went to the official site and there are a few different dvd's to choose from.
Do I want the COMPLETE SHAPELY SECRETS PROGRAM or the ABDONDA VIDEO SERIES...or the ABDONDA TOTAL BODY...or the ADVANCE WORKOUT?
I'm just curious as to which one the exercises everyone listed here is from what dvd..(that sounds strange...but you get it ..lol)
I am anxious to try this...time is wasting away...unlike my middle section and bubble butt.

I skipped the complete SS workout. It was too much money for what I would be getting. I couldn't see paying almost $40.00 plus shipping to get a cheap plastic cosmetic bag, a pendant that I would never wear, and an eating program that was nothing new.

I started with the Advanced Workout. Anyone should be able to do it without having done the first one. It is a different set of isometric exercises, but in reality no more or less difficult that the first one.

After you have worked with the Advanced Workout you can then decide if you want to invest in the Abdonda series that include the breathing exercises.

Hope this helps!

Yes, SS does work. I have a thyroid issue so it takes a little longer for me to see results, but I am seeing results. I have been doing the advanced SS since the first week in December pretty much every evening, and have dropped several sizes in pants. I never did the first SS as I thought it was too expensive for what you got. The Advanced was only $19.99+ shipping.

This week I ordered the Abadonda DVDs. They incorporate the breathing exercises and are still only 7 minutes. Can't wait to get them! Has anyone else tried them?

For the person who asked if they could be done sitting, I would say yes!

Ruth
I got them, and they took quite a while to arrive. then I came down with a bug.. so, I haven't started them yet.

but.. I watched them, and I think they are a great buy. They seem to show all the exercises.. and incorporate the breathing.

I like incorporating the breathing, because I wanted to see if the breathing would help with some other things I'm trying.

Thank You...this helps me decide which one to buy.
I had debated on buying just the one advance dvd but then thought it might be way out of my ability to do it without the first set.
I am very determined to try this and knowing it won't cost me a fortune is even better.

The most important thing is to do these religiously. I started in Early October and made great strides until I got strep followed by a month of sinus infections. I had to start all over in December, but have kept it up ever since.

Let us all know how you like it!

I am cheering for you! Can you hear me?

LOL...yes...I can hear you cheering...and I am so excited to get started I'm trying to follow some of the exercises explained in this thread....I just hope I'm doing them correctly....I'd hate to 'THINK' I know how to do them and then get the dvd and discover that I've learned them all wrong..lol
I've heard it can take a few weeks to arrive...until then...I'll be trying my best.
I'm so motivated this time...I will be pretty mad at myself if I don't stick with it.

Hi: I am considering Body Flex or Lifelift. Are you still doing the SS program and what have been your results? Thanks. Carol

Having done both Body Flex and Life Lift I can attest to both of them being very effective. I think Life Lift is a little more aggressive. The developer of Life Lift says it can be broken up into to daily workouts of approximately 10 minutes each. Her face lift works well, it just doesn't last for more than about 15 minutes. Greer's facial exercises done daily do make you look like you have had a face lift after you have done them for a few weeks.

The body flex program did work faster for me than SS, but my time has become so limited that I use only SS and it seems to work well.

I dug out my old Body Flex tapes this morning, re-watched the instructional, and did the 15-minute BF exercise routine -- first time since 2003, I think. I'd forgotten about the quotes from experts at the beginning and end expounding the virtues of oxygenating the cells. Very good to hear them again.

After the workout, I felt quite refreshed. I'm going to strive to do it daily (for at least a week) so I can squeeze into some too-tight slacks.

Ok one more question for the dvds..the Abandonda...is this 3 separate DVDs so you really are exercising for 21 minutes????

(The advanced does cover from head to toe. The Abandonda DVDs have upper, lower , and general. )

Hi ladies-

40 winks- I need to get my thigh into shape also (and the rest of my body) but that really bothers me- I am hoping this gets rid of some of the cellulite also- once my legs are tightened-

bfuser- that leg one that you mentioned sounds like it could be done periodically even at work- I have to try that-

Let me ask everyone something- when I am doing the exercises I really am shaking, even when I do the bicep ones and holding my stomach in, my right thigh was really shaking- does that sound normal? Does that happen to anyone else? I am really squeezing as hard as I can- I find I really have to focus on making sure I am keeping my stomach tight when doing the arm exercise
I have to master this and then order the advanced- I am so glad someone is here to share this with!!!- I'll check in later

I think it's normal to shake when you are applying alot of force.

Hi, Shamrock: Please do keep us updated. I have Greer's BF program but haven't used it because I guess I just don't think it is going to be that effective--losing weight, that is. Probably helps with toning. Maybe, losing inches. Hope it does what it says. Carol

Hi: I am not familiar with the Shapely Secrets program but understand it is similar to the BodyFlex program. They are both created by Greer Childers. You can do the BF program sitting. Carol

Holton72-

for the lower body on the SS, the exercise is standing, leaning forward against a chair and stepping up on your toes

Can someone inform me about the advanced workout? How long does that take? are the exercises much different?

I did the exercises last night- I feel like such a fool when I do the facial one, but I know it will really help- it amazing how 7 minutes can make one so sore!

I finally measured myself last night- that was depressing- at least I know where I stand now- so I can make it better

I''ll check in later-

Holton, The advanced version, which is not really advanced, but rather another isometric work out can be done seated.

Shamrock, If you are shaking then you are getting the max workout from your isometric exercises. The shaking says you are doing it the right way.

Carol, SS is very different from the original BF program. You do NOT hold your breath in either the first SS or the advanced workouts. ALL of the SS work outs are 7 minutes. The BF is 15 to 20 minutes, and is more about stretching that isometric exercises.

Hi Carol! I think the Body Flex got the best results for me, but since I am at a point in my life when I don't have the luxury of 15 to 20 minutes the SS DVDs are great. I just got my Abandonda DVDs today so will have to give those a try to see how effective they are. I just love the seven minute workouts. Best of all they are working for me. Maybe a bit more slowly that BF, but I am getting there!

Hi-

I did the SS last night again, the 3rd night, it seemed harder last night for some reason- maybe because I am sore already- I couldn't hold as long as the other 2 nights- I'll keep at it and keep everyone informed-

Hi All! I got the three abdonda DVDs yesterday. They are much more difficult to do than the Advanced work out. I think they will be really affective since the breathing is the same method used in Body Flex. The difference in the breathing is that you hold the breath for only the first five seconds of each movement, but if you are used to BF you could probably hold it longer if you wanted to.

There are three DVDs:

The first one is a total body workout that is done in seven minutes. It appears to be the same workout that she introduced in the first SS DVD, but with the breathing included.

The second one is a seven minute upper body workout with the breathing.

The third one is a lower body work out with the breathing included.

The benefit to having three workouts (four if you include the Advanced one that I have) is that you can rotate the workouts daily making these much more affective than just doing the same workout everyday.

To those who are handicapped these cannot all be done seated. If you are handicapped and need to do a seated routine then the Advanced one would be your best bet.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info. Keep us updated on the effectiveness of these workouts. Do you do a different one each day or all of them daily? Carol
