This is terrific

I'm so happy the OP posted and I found this thread. I wouldn't normally look into the exercise board since I'm simply not interested in running like a hamster or sweating for hours.

I'm not doing SS but instead just started doing isometrics. I feel so much better. This exercise idea is perfect for me. No getting changed, no special equipment, so showering afterwards.

So I'm going to try it out with Victoria Principal's book The body Principal from the library.

I'll post back at the end of January.

As you can see, I'm a total newbie. I just joined the forum to tell everyone what a big impact this had on me. My legs and tummy are already tighter.

Hi Mrs. Cleaver..Totally agree with "running like a hamster" thing. I like to walk in my neighborhood/or on the treadmill, but I would rather do the Bodyflexing/SS or isometrics.

Need to get more regular at it..

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie and hoping someone can help me with advice!

I'm around 320 pounds right now and I'm 5'4", to be honest - a year ago I was about 80 pounds lighter, my mother committed suicide and I lost my job and I've spent almost all of the past year in bed.

I haven't been eating huge amounts of food but I have definitely been eating the wrong things and well, what difference does that make really when weeks are passing that the only time I move is to go to the bathroom?

I guess I'm finally starting to get over the loss of my mom and who knows what else is going on inside of me, thinking about my kids and the fact that I'm only 35 and sometimes I wonder if I'll make it to 40 and I'm not even being dramatic.

I've decided to save myself. I started eating low-carb a week ago and I've been successful, the problem is, I'm so horribly out of shape that I can barely move. I want to go out for walks and I can recall when I used to think 30 minutes of brisk walking was no big deal. Now, when I have to go to Walmart for shopping, I seriously consider getting one of the motorized chairs for handicapped individuals on my way in the door, I haven't done it yet but I've been mightily tempted, and after walking around the store at a snail's pace, hanging onto the shopping cart for dear life, I hurt so bad it makes me cry.

End of story, here's my question - I want to go out TODAY and buy Shapely Secrets, those of you who've done it, in your opinion, is this something someone like me can do?

Thank you in advance for your help and advice!

Hi stephiebug- I am also new and am going to start SS soon- I plan on ordering this week- This will be my last weekend of free eating and am starting on a low carb diet on Monday- I am too afraid to weigh myself, but will be forced to do so on Monday am- so, maybe we can go into this together- I am sorry to read about your past year and the death of your mother- but I am sure (speaking as a mother myself)this is what she would want you to do- improve yourself and make a positive change in your life and be happy...

Thank you for responding!

Yes, yes, yes... can we please do it together? That would be great!

I saw another thread where a lady bought the Shapely Secrets at Walmart, and I thing I saw the program at my local Walmart the last time I was in there. I'm going to be leaving soon for a shopping trip and if it's there I'm buying it.

Thank you also for your kind words

I will be starting tomorrow- there are some really good recipes on this site for low carb- Just to let you know more about myself- I am 40 yrs. old, 5'8", and weigh approx. 240 lbs- I don't know for sure- I will weigh myself tomorrow morning-

Good Morning

They did have the Shapely Secrets at my local Walmart, I can't find my receipt but it was around 40 dollars all told. The thing I liked was, it had everything in the box that she includes when you buy online, except, instead of the necklace, there's an additional exercise DVD which I can surely use a lot more than a piece of costume jewelry.

Yes, I've already started the low-carb diet, I'm doing Atkins Induction, I started the 29th of January. I haven't weighed myself yet and I don't know when I will, I don't even own scales. My clothes feel loser and my breath is stinky so I'm pretty sure I've lost some weight and that I'm in ketosis, I don't think I will buy scales because I have a very obsessive-compulsive streak and I'm afraid I would become obsessed with weighing myself. I do need to get some ketostix though.

Just let me know if you're able to find SS at your Walmart then we can start the exercises at the same time. The nice thing is, she recommends finding 3 friends and sharing with them what you're planning to do and out of the 3 enlisting one of them to do it with you as a buddy. I don't have 3 friends anymore, I've isolated myself so much for so long, everyone who ever cared about me has sort of drifted out of my life, so, I think it's wonderful and perfect that we can do this together.

So, I'll recap a little bit - I'm 35, 5'4", 300-320 lbs. I live in Alabama and my name is Stephani. My e-mail is stephiebug@gmail.com in case you ever need it Yaaaay!!! I'm so excited!!

Oh great- I will have to go to Walmart after I get paid this week- funds are a little low after christmas- so I did bring myself to weighing myself today- and I was absolutely correct- exactly 240 lbs- so I decided to not wait another day and to start today. I am also going to get in some walking for aerobic exercise- I live in NY State so the weather is pretty cold now - but I have a treadmill. So I will buy the SS this weekend and my daughter is also going to do this- she is 14 yrs old.

I'll be the 3rd friend if you don't mind? I'm the one that posted about findinfng it at Walmart and I'm so glad that I did. It was $34.88 and came with everything needed included the advanced DVD so it was a great deal! I started today at 10am and as I sit here at 3pm I can really feel it! I even filled out the book like you're suppose too. Of course that meant that I had to get on the scale but I managed. Good Luck! I beleive that once I get into it a bit more I am going to add Isometrics too. I bought the beginning calanetics tape, but I haven't looked at it yet.

Stephanie,
I am so very sorry for the loss of your mom. I lost my son, Michael, to suicide also. I understand your pain. As a matter of fact that's how I gain all this weight that I now have to lose. Depression. If you don't mind, I'll drop you an email and we can chat.

Jan

shamrock67 - I have been doing the tapes and I can feel that they're working! Don't get bummed right now, you are being super good and strong by just sticking to the eating plan so don't get discouraged! Your tapes will arrive soon enough and then you can get underway with that, too. I'm thinking you're going to love it!

jamo - I replied to your e-mail

More than welcome to be the 3rd friend!!

What is wrong with the walmarts in NY State? It would be so much easier if I could just buy it there- oh well....Hi jamo- have you tried the tapes yet? I am glad there is someone else to talk to here- there hasn't been much activity on this thread- I started the low carb diet on 1/6- I havent seen any results with my weight, but I feel pretty good- I am more alert in the afternoon when I have been feeling sluggish at that time at work- so I'll hang in there and keep trying- stephiebug- did you remember to measure yourself? I am so glad the tapes are working for you- but it will be satisfying to see a measurable difference- you guys should check out the recipe section on this site- there is a great sounding pizza recipe that I am going to try to make this weekend-
talk to you later- take care

Good morning! I started SS yesterday and after about 3 hours I could definetly feel it. Still can this morning. I did take measurements so I'll let you know about that next week. I started LC on 1/8/08. I was on again, off again and decided that I would wait until my girls went back to school from Chritmas break. I feel so much better when I don't eat refined carbs. One of my biggest hurdles will be to fix meals (LC) that my family will eat. My 16 yr old could live off of a bag of sugar and a bag of flour her eating habits are horrible. Logan, 11, thinks no meal is complete if it doesn't included fries! DH doesn't care what I make but he's not very open to new "recipes" we'll see!

Yeah, I know- my daughter is a vegetarian- has been for 2 yrs.- and it can be challenging to have to make 2 meals- but she is looking forward to trying that low carb pizza- she is trying a low carb vegetarian diet- she only has a few pounds to lose- I want to lose approximately 60 - 70 lbs.- I can't wait to try SS- if it is really only 7 minutes per day- maybe I will do it a couple of times a day- it is exciting to find something that will not feel like a chore and takes up a lot of time. I am trying to fit in 30 minutes of walking also. I think I have to stay from the scale- like stephiebug said before about herself, I will also obsess about weighing and get discouraged- I am glad we are all in this together! It is nice to have someone to talk to about it.
Talk to you later- have a good day

Hi everybody-

I am still patiently waiting for SS to come in the mail- I can't wait to get it- Hi Circles- I was wondering, when you do the BF, is there a recommended diet with that? What is the recommended diet with SS? Is it low carb? I have been following the low carb- I don't know if anyone has tried it- but the recipe for "Linda's Deep Dish Pizza" is really good- it was one of the best pizzas I have ever had- so it was exciting to be able to eat that - I felt like I was cheating- does anyone know about the ketone strips? Is there a certain time of the day that it should be checked? I have only gotten into the low to moderate range so far.....I have to fight with that scale everyday when I want to keep weighing myself- the other day I was 4 pounds lighter, now today it is back again.... that is really depressing....
Well- hope everyone is doing well- let me know what is going with all of you!

Question on SS

Hello everyone,

I've been catching up on the SS thread with enthusiasm. It looks like something I'd love to try. I've just started on the T-Tapp program as well, and it's great, I can feel it in my muscles. But I figured an extra 7 minutes of help would be wonderful, as I'm probably getting married in 3 or 4 months and want all this extra weight to disappear! lol Heavens knows I'm slow as a snail when seeing progress...

My question is, did most people buy from the SS website or off of Ebay? I was hearing some horror stories on other sites where people had lots of trouble with shipping and being charged for extras....

Thanks

Kavitha

Where to Buy

Oh really? I checked my local Wal-Mart here in KS, and they didn't have it. Maybe I'll have to check couple more stores.

It's as if my sub-conscious is saying.....ah well, you can do it, so what's next?.....make any sense?

Have no problem with my eating plan, since I'm well established in that arena, but my exercise routine, which includes walking, SS and T-Tapp sometimes gets a bit ignored, so hopefully these CDs will get me back into the mind-set of permanency as my WOE.

hi barbara i was wondering have you tried self hypnosis and does it work because im very interested in that?

Iluvgreen4eva,

Yes, I do believe in self-hypnosis, because my mind is open to it.

I have one in particular that I use frequently, because it applies to my bowling techniques, and my husband and I are very avid bowlers.

I also use an exercise CD with subliminal messages.

There are many self-motivation CDs out there to be had, so just Google 'self-motivation, and you'll get a lot of info.

Hi--

Has any of the new SS users seen any results? I am still waiting to get it in the mail- Could someone tell me what the SS diet plan is? I have been doing low carb for 2 weeks and have lost about 4 lbs...so, I am kind of disappointed....

Hi Shamrock,

I'm not a new SS user, but I can tell you that it does work if done properly.

The SS diet plan is low cal, I believe, and am not remotely interested in following that.

Low carb and SS is a great combo.

How much do you want to lose? 4 lbs. is a good start. Have you lost any inches?
