Here is a copy of my post this morning at the cool running site on the weekly c25k thread:

1) What week/day are you on? w9d1!!!
2.) Are you repeating a week? No
3.) How do you feel? Absolutely wonderful
4.) Will you move on next week? I will finish this week!
5.) Tell us your thoughts. I really enjoyed my run this morning! I was a little bummed cuz when I got out there I reaized I had never downloaded the week 9 podcast, so I had to add on at the end. I think I ran more than the 30 minutes and could have gone longer!! But it was maybe my best run ever! I am so happy!
6.) Are you taking extra time off to recover? Nope.

Kissa: Take the rest day from running (ok to do other stuff at the gym) but your body needs the break in order to build up., I have regretted it each time I have run 2x in a row. Don't worry about the schedule so much, just run 3x week with at least 1 day between runs. And, I recommend outdoors at least sometimes... a truly different experience! In a good way.

Tymom, you're almost done (with this phase, are you going on to the One Hour Runner next?)

I did Week 8 Day 2 today I'm going to finish this! When I started I thought there's no way I'd be able to finish it. I didn't even tell anyone IRL until I got through Week 3, because I figured I wouldn't last more than a few days. That old Nike commercial had it right, just do it!

Great job you guys, its amazing that you are almost done. I am kinda jealous, because if I would have gotten off my lazy bum and not repeated week 4 twice, and done only one day of week 5, therefore starting that one again....... I would be right there with ya. But in all honesty, I guess it did me good to prolong it a bit.

Week 6 day 2 done...

itsnot2L8: Yes, I think I will go on to the one hour runner thing. I think that having the schedule and GOAL of finishing this has kept me on track. Frankly I am SHOCKED that I am doing this. To look at me you would never say that I look like a runner by any stretch, and i have never stuck to anything like this before. So OHR might be just the ticket to keep me going until his really becomes a habit.

Gavinsmom: Hey!
Congrats on your progress!!! I loved w6 cuz it seemed so easy after w5d3! The rest is downhill!! Let's have a graduation party when we are all done!!

Thanks TY mom...... I was wondering, where do you find that info about the one hour runner program. I looked over the coolrunnings site and couldnt find it. I do well with a program too, I am kinda worried about slacking off when I complete couch to 5K if I dont have something structured.
Thanks.

Yep, the structure is essential for me. Had I followed DH's advice (which I know works great for a lot of people) to just jog as far as I could then walk for a few minutes, I would have never ever made it this far, I probably wouldn't have made it past the first day.

Keep up the good work, everyone! This is a great program, no matter where you are along the way, you should be proud of yourself for coming as far as you have.

Thanks Shelly........... um yeah If I would have tried that run till you can then walk stuff, um I would have quit after like day 2 or 3.

I think that I am gonna try and find one day a week that I can run outside. I am sure it is a totally different experience. I have to do mine on the treadmill because I have no one to watch my 3 yr. old while I go. But I am sure I can pull one day out of somewhere everyweek.

Have a good day everyone....... gonna do 3 miles on the treadmill today.

Tymom and Shelly you make me positively quiver with excitment! And you Gavinsmom, coming right on up there. I will do as you have done and I too will be a runner.

Thanks for the advice Tymom. I'll fess up. I read your post on my return from the gym, and, you've guessed it! I won't do it tomorrow though. Felt really good.

Then I went to look at the cool running site to find I've been doing it wrong this week! I've been doing 90 secs running and 90 secs jogging, so working harder than I needed too. Interestingly, my heartate is already dropping more quickly.

I must try to get out into the park. There are quite a lot of slopes, look like hills to me, and I suppose that it daunts me rather.

Gun lap!

I finished Week 8 and it was cold! 12 degrees, any advice on running in the cold, besides warm up thoroughly and dress appropriately?

Cindy and Gavinsmom, I've never jogged on a treadmill, I bought one two years then sold it last spring, only used it a few times. I like it outdoors. There are some gentle hills (and some steeper ones I'm avoiding for now) in our neighborhood, and I have it in my head that someday I might be able to run the Bay to Breakers in San Francisco. It's about 7.5 miles, it starts and ends at sea level and the highest point is 215 ft above sea level.

Thanks everyone for all the support and encouragement, it's helped immensely!

well finished week 6! I so didnt want to do it today, but I was like there is no way I am gonna set myself back by having to repeat it. I will definitely be doing the one hour runner program. I need something with a little structure, and the thought of having to repeat something also keeps me going.

Everyone is doing so great!

We never really get that kind of weather here in London. I think you are amazing, I remember that hurting feeling in my lungs from school sports when it was freezing cold. RESPECT!

gavinsmom, you're coming into the homestretch! There have definitely been days when everything in me said "I don't want to do this!" just like there are days I don't want to go to work.

DRUM ROLL PLEASE...

Good morning and happy Sunday to all. I just finished week 9 and have officially graduated! Such a beautiful day for it too! I am so happy, I stood there in the park when I finished and burst into tears....

Just came home and my very darling DH presented me with a gift certificate to the running store. How sweet and supportive he has been thru all of this!!

Keep it up everybody! I will keep checking in on this thread!

Hi, Jenadlite! This is a fantastic program, I love it.

Keep it up, Cindy! You're doing great!

gavinsmom, you're almost there. If Sue or someone else doesn't start a one hour runner thread by Monday, I will, and will post the schedule as well. But I'll still hang around here to cheer everyone on, I'm so very proud of us all!

Speaking of motivation, today is week 9 day 1 but I got caught up in an early morning work emergency and did not get my run in, so I'm going home now and do it before dinner. Even though this is one of those days I really truly would rather lie on the couch and fall asleep watching TV, I'll do it anyways. Now I'm going to post this quick so you can hold me to it

Did it. Week 9 day 1, 30 minutes straight. My thoughts bounced back and forth between "I don't want to be doing this" and "I can't quit, I have to go back to LCF and be able to say that I did it." So I did it and now I'm going to park my rear on the couch and fall asleep watching TV.
