Hey everyone........ well today will be W4D2 for me.....
I am not looking forward to it, and the reason being is that I have been off track with my eating the past few days. I am back on plan today, not loving it, and struggling through it. It is weird how when I am not eating right that I dont want to exersize either.... I guess they do go hand in hand. But the other day I sucked it up and did W4D1......... and I will do the same today, I know I will feel better after I am done, its just getting started.
It sure does suck after falling off the wagon....... but I am scrambling to climb back on..

Hello,
Congratulations to all who stuck with the program. You are great inspiration.
I am joining you guys
I think success is contagious.
I was never a runner.
Even in 5th grade I could not run.
But I promised my son that I will run a 5k road race with him in the spring so I better keep my promise.
Today was W1D1 for me.

I ran a straight mile today. I know it's not part of the C25K plan but I wanted to see if I could do it and I did. I was so excited. This is the first time in my life I have ever done it.

Thanks Betty. I was so excited. I know it may not seem like much but to me this is a huge accomplishment. I can't wait to continue with it and see where it goes. I would love to become a runner.

Hi Everyone!
You are all doing so good!

Gavinsmom -- slacking off for 2 days doesn't count if you pick it back up again! That's just listening to your body and taking an extra rest day!

I have been MIA a lot lately. Actually I've been MI-not-in-A(ction). I was sick with a flu last week and now feel like I am on the verge of upper respiration crud. My allergies have been awful and now the congestion is pretty bad. I am resting and missing my workouts. I am hoping that I can pick things up again next week. I am sure I will have to go start the c25k again, maybe in the middle, so I can build back up again. I may just walk next week then start the tougher stuff. Not sure what to do.

Anyway... I hope you are all having a nice TGIF and have a nice weekend ahead of you!

I love C25K. I ran the mile in high school (not very impressively, only got into it 'cuz I had a crush on a pole vaulter ) but never since, and never thought I would again, but here I am...

I'm on W5D2, I did weeks 1-4, then repeated 4, then last week I did W5D1 all three days. I've got a question, weeks 5 and 6 seem kind of random, why run 20 mins straight W5D3 then back to 5-3-8-3-5 on W6D1?

Once again, can I say I love this program? Six weeks ago I couldn't imagine running 5 minutes without stopping, or even wanting to run at all, just knew I had to do something. Then I came across the C25K thread in the Main Lobby (don't know how I missed this one ) Now I believe I'll be running a 5K next year! Maybe not very fast, but I'll finish!

Great job everyone!!! I am so so proud of all of you! You're persevering and that's the key!

Itsnot2late, I was so where you are back in Nov 2003. I had just started 'jogging' .. well, it was pretty pathetic and I thought "can I ever become a runner?" The answer, in a word, is YES!! Its through persistence and commitment that runners are born. Believe me, when I started, the farthest I could go was past about 3 mailboxes on my street! But I kept trying. It wasn't easy and it wasn't pretty. Heck, its still not pretty, but its a heckavalot easier now! I am totally hooked on running now and you couldn't pay me to stop! Girl, no doubt you will finish a 5k next year and many many more after that!

All this to say, that you guys ROCK and I'm proud of all of you!

PS .. Hope you feel better soon, Spongeblonde!

Betty

Tymom! I'm almost where you are, I did W5D2 today. Will repeat it Weds and move on to W5D3 Friday, although not anywhere near as cool as a beach in Hawaii.

I got an MP3 player yesterday and downloaded the podcast, the music isn't anything to write home about but the signals to change pace made it much easier than timing it on my watch or cell phone.

Betty, I hesitate to even use the word 'jogging' to describe what I'm doing, but I'm doing it! And looking forward to doing it when I'm not carrying around an extra 35 lbs Thanks for the encouragement!

Hi Everyone!
I feel better today but am still congested. Lovely! I guess I will continue to get extra sleep for a while longer but am really missing my workouts! <whine>

gavinsmom -- Thanks for the well wishes! You are now on week 5, right? Good for you for sticking with it!

tymom -- Wow! That is awesome! I can't think of a nice place to run! Doesn't it feel good!

Betty -- Thanks for the well wishes! I am sure this is setting me back with running. I may just try week 1 of the c25k and see where I am when I do start back.

ItsNot2L8 -- Congrats! You are doing great! The podcast really did help me a lot. I pushed harder because the little voice on my iPod told me too! LoL! Once I got to the final weeks where you run w/o stopping I made my own music mixes because like you said the music is not the best.

Keep up the good work everyone! I hope to be well enough to do something soon!

Today it was raining and I couldn't go out for my run.....I debated running in the rain but thought I would look like a nut being the only person outside.

Funny you should say that because, even after 3 years of "running" .. I still hesitate to think I am a bonafide runner! I dunno .. maybe its the same type of thing that even after you lose the weight, you still don't see yourself as thin? Anyway, the way I run is THE WAY I RUN, so I guess I am a runner! Believe me, you're out there doing it, therefore, YOU ARE A RUNNER!

HANG IN THERE SWEETIE! You'll be back to where you were in NO TIME. The body is an incredibly adaptable thing .. I've had to take a full week off several times due to illness, but it was amazing how quick the recovery was! I am sure it will be the same way for you! Just don't give up! YOU CAN DO THIS!

Hey everyone........ OK I got my butt back in gear. I just did W4D1(again ) I must say that I had no problem what so ever. I will definitely be ready to move on to week 5 next week. I am going to be gone for thanksgiving but I am just gonna get up early and go do my run in the morning. My in laws have a treadmill, but dont know it they have it put up or not. EIther way I am gonna get my run in. I have also been slacking doing my 3miles on my off day, and I am gonna make sure that I get that in tomorrow as well. I also added my crunches back in starting today. So hopefully I will be able to keep it up. Thanks guys.....

I'll throw my 2 cents in here....I did w4d1 yesterday and it kicked my butt! Wow, what a jump 5 minutes seems. I go slow like alot of you too. It was still a strain. I do the Power 90 circuit training on the off days of running, and the stretches are helping alot with soreness. I'll look up the pod casts you guys mentioned.

BgDogMom........ I have repeated week 4 um... this makes my 2nd time.. because I got lazy and never finished the day 3. But I planned to repeat it the first time. It was hard for me too. I mean I made it through but it wasnt easy by no means. Now that I have repeated it, My endurance has built up and today when I did day 1 again..... it was very doable. Which I am glad that when I do go on to week 5 I will be ready. NO shame in repeating a week.

I repeated Week 4 too, and last week I did Week 5 Day 1 all three days. Week 5 Day 2 yesterday and tomorrow, going for Week 5 Day 3 on Friday.

I am a runner?

It was just the 1st workout for this week, and it seemed to rev it up a bit! I'll fisih out the rest of the week and see if I need to repeat it, hope not, I am feeling some accomplishment by doing each week. But if it's kicking my fanny, then so be it!
