Thanks for the welcome...
Tonite is W1D2. I'm not as sore as I was afraid I would be at this point. Itsnot2l8-I can already identify with what you said about there being 4 days in which I dont have to jog congrats on the actual running...even if it was only for 30 seconds...FaithM- I really cant image jogging (running) for 3 minutes..its almost too much to think about at this point. The first nite I had no idea how long 45 seconds was Yesterday I went out on my lunch hour and walked, I dont know what the temp was but it was cold. BRRRRR...Kissa- Thanks for the welcome and for being so encouraging. Hoping that your muscle is getting better. Slow and ease back into it ... mslaster-I was glad to read your post about staying on a certain week longer if necessary. I think I'm going to have a few weeks like that, but like... msgirl- said it is our program so we can personalize it. So true... Marvin- you and I are about the same place, except that I've never ran a mile in my life and you have ![]() Will post more after my run (jog) tonite. Thanks everyone....

Is there a place to download to an mp3 player or is that the same as the download for the ipod?

jokath,
I found that I could not download directly from iTunes to my mp3 player. I think it comes out in a different format (not mp3). Maybe I'm just missing something. But what I was able to do was burn a CD directly from iTunes. Then I "ripped" the CD onto my computer by using Windows Media Player. Once in the WMP library, I could move it onto my MP3. |

Thanks Marvin. I tried the same thing to download to my mp3 but it wouldnt do it. Different format was the message I kept getting. I'll try burning to a cd and see what happens.

Good luck. I had a hard time understanding how to get it on to a CD. There is a "Burn" button kind of hiding at the bottom of their page; not very easy to find. I think they don't want you to. They want you to load it on an iPod! Let me know if you have problems. I have to download some of the additional weeks yet, so I can document the process, with screenshots to make it easier if you can't get it to work. |

Robert Ullrey has the podcasts in MP3 (non-iPod) format, google robert ullrey couch to 5k training mix, it should be the first link in the results, just click on the MP3 Podcasts link at the top.

It's so great to see everyone doing so well!
Jenny, you're getting close to 'graduation'! Have you thought about what you'll do after? Marvin, starting week 2 tomorrow, you're off to a great start! msgirl, I didn't start using the podcasts until Week 5, which one are you using? Did it just stop in the middle and nothing but silence? Hey, you're almost halfway through! mslaster, every week when I started day 1 I thought for sure I'd have to repeat that week, but most of the time by the end of the week I was ready to move on. Did repeat weeks 4 and 5, do what you need to do to keep going. Kathy, that was the other thing that made C25K work for me is that it didn't hurt, neither during or after a run. Muscles & lungs definitely knew they'd been worked, but never any real pain or discomfort. Faith, there's definitely a difference jogging outside (from what I remember of the last time I was on a treadmill). Those gentle slopes you barely notice driving turn into long, steep grades when you're jogging. Cindy, good for you for keeping moving even when you can't run. What's a cross-trainer, is that like an elliptical? One Hour Runner Week 6 Day 2 done, I even added two minutes for a total of 35 minutes. I don't feel very light on my feet.

Complete W1D2 last night and I was surprised that it wasnt as difficult as the previous run. The recovery time between jogs was shorter. Of course, my lungs still got a workout, as well as my leg muscles and it still wasnt anything that I want my family watching me do
I'm not very graceful...My hips ached last night in bed, has anyone else experienced this? Have a Great Day ![]() |

Yes, go team go. (clever graphics, wow)
Can't say I ever had hip pain from the running. I used to have bad hip and knee pain when I weighed 180 +, but it went away as I lost the weight. Makes sense really. So nice that Shelly and Tymom stay with us to give us support. 35 minutes and 32 minutes sound incredible to me. Yes cross trainer = elliptical. Body Pump this morning, hope I don't hurt as much as last week. |

Hi everyone,
Just completed W3D3. Not bad, but I will be repeating for sure. I do have a small delimma tho-jumped on the scale at the gym and notice that I have gained. Very disappointing, because all the hard work that I am putting into this and that scale needle is pointing in the wrong direction. Okay--enough of my whining--did this happen to any of you. I am not eating anything bad, keeping carbs low, and staying away from junk. So what gives! By the way, I WILL NOT be quiting. |

Repeating W1 D3 tomorrow. Glad I repeated the week, not sure I could move forward without this second week. I have gained and lost the same 2-3 pounds the last few weeks. I hadn't exercised before so maybe its the addition of the workouts that keeps me fluctuating. I don't care really, I feel so much better working out, and am determined to become a runner!!!
Good luck to everyone today!! |

everyone. Last week my baby was sick and this week I've only done day 1/week 7 b/c I feel a cold coming on. I don't want to run when I'm sick so it looks like I'll be repeating week 7 again. I am determined to finish though. KUTGW everyone. |

W1D3 (repeat week) completed today, while practically pulling my hair out..
I was just wiped out even before I got to the gym. This is only the second week of me going to the gym everyday before work, and I'm exhausted. I know it will get better as my body adjusts, but this morning, wow, glad nobody got in my way..... ![]() |

Hey there Everybody! Wow, I cannot believe it's the end of the week already! Sorry I didn't get to check in the other day, really haven't spent that much time on the computer and when I did I was over at cool-running.
I must say that is an addictive place! Wednesday I did my W3D2 and just now completed W3D3. Today was not any easier! And I thought it would be, LOL! I don't think my knees/thighs were feeling it as much before now. And that 3 minutes felt like double! Does it sometimes feel that way for any of you once you've reached the end of another week?Giving a shout-out to every one of you and hoping you all have a wonderful weekend! |

You are all doing so well!
I finished Week 6 of One Hour Runner yesterday, jogged 41 minutes. Remember I started C25K less than 4 months ago, huffing and puffing after 60 seconds, feeling like I couldn't go on to the next week (and a couple times I didn't), worrying about who might see me plodding down the street, thighs all a-jiggle. Well, I'm still huffing and puffing a little, but my thighs don't jiggle nearly as much Keep going, you don't have to go fast, don't push too hard, just keep going. |

Wow, Shelly I just have to say that is amazing!
Another thing that is so great about this program is we've all started out at right around the same fitness levels (barely moving, lol) to progressing to stages we never thought possible for ourselves! It's empowering to know that each of us can not only graduate the C25K but also go beyond that to accomplishing new goals. Of course I'm still at the point where it seems unimaginable for myself but so many of you here have proven to all of us "beginners" that it can be done! And that keeps me going!Last edited by FaithM. : 01-27-2007 at 04:22 PM. |
