Hi ladies..
Singing: Owee..please be careful...it really hurts to stub your toe.. You are doing wonderfully..Syn: I have to have tv on when I do the treadmill..We have it near the tv in the downstairs family room..so it's only us who see it...We also have a bike, but I like the treadmill better..And wow you must have strong arms..I can barely lift 10 pounds..Maybe the SSecrets will help my arms get stronger. I used to belong to a type of Curves place, but gosh..I didn't get there alot..So, I just do stuff at home..Bodyflexing, SSecrets, and treadmilling.. I hated to pay for the Curves place and not use it.. Hey, happy Tday..I'm getting up to bodyflex before company comes..LOLOLOL...... |

heh, thats my problem maybe. My rooms are so small that I can't pull my treadmill out so i can see the tv. I usually play music but i'd much rather watch hsn or qvc lol.
I didn't start out that way..I was sweating at 7 pound weights at one point. But following Body for Life work out really builds up strength gains without bulking. Well i've already made it through thanksgiving since im not cooking lol. Just making soup or chicken or something. Just me and hubby and he doesn't care for all the holiday food. Probably why he only has 8% body fat. Anyway everyone have a happy turkey day!

G'Mornin, Pahers!!
Well, we got back yesterday afternoon from a wonderful Thanksgiving vacation! We got a flat tire in S.C., and when my hubby changed the tire, it too was flat, and we didn't find that out until we were on the road again, so we called our road service, and had to be towed to Georgia to the Super Wal-Mart where we outfitted the entire van. Didn't want to take any more chances....we were only a few miles out of Georgia, so it wasn't too bad. Rather than drive home that night, we decided to spend the night in Georgia, and head out in the monring, and so glad we did, cause we got a little shopping in, and got home feeling refreshed rather than burned out. I am ready to get in the living room to test my B/F out, since hubby has gone to the post office to get our mail. I'm wondering if I should do it this afternoon while he's bowling, cause if he comes home and finds me pahing, I just don't know how I'll be able to deal with the laughter. Oh, and I'm paying for the great time we had in Phila........yep, a 2.6 lb. gain, but what do I expect after losing every ounce of willpower that I vowed I would use. Can you imagine, I ate potato chips?!?!? And, alot of them! That was always a weakness with me; love that salty crunch......more than sugar, anyday. Anyway, it's good to be back and since hubby walked in while typing this, I will wait till he goes bowling this afternoon before I pah my way into ballerinahood. Carolyn, you've got me interested in yet another program.....this S/Secrets...I'll have to study your post above and see what that's all about. I've accumulated so many exercise tapes, DVDs, books, eating regimens, and the like, that if I don't see any results within these next few weeks, then I have no one to blame but myself. Except for these past two weeks, I have eaten fairly clean, but since this back problem reared its ugly head, I've had to stop going to the gym, and eliminate walking. This, fortunately, is temporary, but boy, will I have a lot of catching up to do. Anyway, I'm happy to be back in my home! Can't you tell by this little novel? Talk to you all a bit later. Gracie

I haven't read this whole thread but I wanted to let anyone who is interested know that the Bodyflex bar is on clearance on HSN.com. I think it is about $3.00.
I think Bodyflex works but I haven't done it in ages. I was sick of my DH making fun of me. I enjoyed it because 15 minutes and you were done. |

Wow, Snergi,
What a great idea! Christmas gifts! I've been so absorbed in my own weight and fat loss, I didn't even think that someone else may want it. My bad!! But, on second thought, I didn't think of it, cause most of my friends don't take the time to exercise, and are not interested in nutrition and healthy eating.......maybe I can do some convincing, eh? |

Hi..and welcome back, Sazzie..Flat tires are scarey..Glad you are okay..
Syn: Hopefully, your friends/family will enjoy the bodyflex equipment..and use it.. Nice gift..Magna: Hey..come join us..dust off the videos and start Pahing.. Donna: You know..men do bflexing, too..and lose inches. Greer has pics of them in her book..But, I'm sure the guys kept their eyes on her in her little leotard..don't ya think. Deep breathing is soooo wonderful for us..even if we don't lose an inch, it is a great thing.. I've been doing Greer's SSecrets, too..it's a good balance.. for me. |

Well everyones quiet this week. This week Im up a pound and a half and only half inch loss. I picked up the bean..(yea i know i said i wasn't buying anything else lol) It was 48 at walmart with 6 work outs so i couldn't pass it up. I've only done the ab work out so far but I was really feeling the burn. Plus its far more comfortable then laying on the floor.
I also did 20 minutes of Turbo jam. I didn't buy this though lol. Anyway, I like it way better then Taebo. It has alot of work outs and a sculpting workout. Works outs are anywhere from 16 minutes, to 20 and up to about 45 I think. Good way to build up endurance before moving on if you wanted to do that. Anyway that is about it for this weeks experiments. I'll let you know if I have any results next monday ![]() How's everyone else doing? |

Thanks for the hsn tip. I went and ordered the dvd set and bar for both myself, and as a xmas present for my sister. I had ordered vhs tapes from ebay, and am presently using a two-handled resistance band because I didn't get the bar. So that is a tip for everyone, if the bar breaks or you loose it and these go off the market....a $5 resistance band works. My tapes just kind of have lines and stuff in them, so for $6, to get both the dvds and the bar, yeah. My sister has back problems so I thought maybe she can see if this works for her.
I actually have been bad about exercising the last couple weeks---because I still am having problems from the two falls I had...keep re-injuring my arm, and have to be careful on how I walk on my foot etc....despite this, I have lost 27 lbs in a month. I am hoping to get going more consistantly with bf again soon. Guess I just need to modify it for a while---I can't like, do the pyramid hand/ arm press thing, and any stretches of my left arm. Hope you all are doing good. ![]() |

27 pounds! Thats awesome girl! Have you been taking your measurements to see how many inches you've lost?
Sorry to hear about your injuries. Hopefully you'll be up to doing more soon. Even with them, your weight loss is fantastic.. Good job! |

awww, thanks. And no.
no measuring. I am clumsy at measuring myself and do not have someone to help me with it. So I have to go by pounds and how my clothing feels. I am wearing jeans that were too tight etc...and am seeing my shirts get loose, so something is working. |

Synergi, what is the bean? Oh no, not another exercise program....although I'm thinking that at the end of my gym's subscription, I will do most of my workouts from home and resume my power walking. Not really sure! If I continue to accumulate any more programs, then it would be a waste of money to re-join.
SLass, what a weight loss despite your injuries! Please take care of yourself, and don't overdo. I had to stop all exercise for 6 weeks due to my injury, but just got the go-ahead from my psyiatrist yesterday to slowly start back again, so now I have no excuses. Hey Sazzie..
The bean is a stability ball..sort of...its not really a ball just works like one. Its actually shaped to fit the contour of your back and is long enough for you to sit your rear on. I'm to clumsy for a real stability ball, but you can do all the great ab exercises without getting on the floor. Its also easy to do side crunches on it. If you flip it over there are back exercises you can do but I mostly got it for the ab work which doesn't take long. I was going to join the gym again...but I changed my mind since I would be going by myself and I knew there would be a lot of days I couldn't motivate myself to go without a friend going with me. |

I picked up a heart rate monitor. I did advance bf for about 3 minutes and according to my monitor i burned 22 calories. Keep in mind even though it was advanced I couldn't hold my breath for a lot of the moves so I totally messed that work out up.
I did a 18 minute Turbo Jam work out before that so i was totally out of breath by the time i got to bf lol. I waited to long to start to..next time Im going to do bf right after. I may just drop back to the regular work out but I want to do it while my heart rate is already up. For Turbo Jam it said I burned 167 calories for 18 minutes of work and my heart rate was in the ''zone'' for 7 of those minutes. That beats walking on my treadmill and not nearly as boring. Treadmill I was burning about 100 calories for 16-18 minutes of walking. I would really love to hit 200 or just below it by Jan 1st. Even though muscle is suppose burn fat faster it weighs more and I've been holding out on starting weights until I've lost so much fat. For now I'm using very light weights, no more then 3 pounds just for general toning and to add in inch loss. I also did 8 minutes on the Bean for my Ab work out and burned 40 calories. So my total is about 229 calories for 30 minutes work. I don't think thats to bad. I really like this monitor, really helps motivate if you don't have to guess at how many calories your burning. Hey Carolyn, hope all is well..haven't heard from you in a while. Ok guess off to shower for me im all sweaty lol. |

Hi gals..
I'm here!! I'm faithfully doing SSecrets everyday..and I love it..and still do BF a couple times a week..too.. Since October between BF and SS, I have lost 5 inches!! So, it's a great combination..Weight is down a bit..maybe a pound, but I am kinda at goal and SS is building muscle.. Just keep up the pahing...ladies.. ![]() |

*cheers* There you are... 5 inches is awesome Carolyn. Especially when its only about 18 minutes of work between SS and BF to get those kind of results.
I'm semi anxious to weigh in Monday. Hubby is off 3 days next week which is good but also sucks since I tend to slack off while he's home. I might switch my routines to night/early morning before bed so I don't miss so many days. I wonder when the SS will get their infomercial going. I'm anxious to see it. Oh I wore my heart rate monitor to the store. I was there for about a half hour and it says I burned 115 calories. Makes me want to stroll around the mall a few times just to see what I get. Gosh I wish it was summer. I'm getting motivated to want to walk the park. Carolyn your in the 130's now. Thats awesome. I don't think i've ever weighed that little. The lowest I got down to in high school was 142-145 and I was wearing a 14..a tight 12 at 142. Now, knowning what I do know.. I had probably loss a lot of lean muscle from half starving myself. All I did was aerobics.. I wish I'd known about weights back then. Live and learn.. Keep up the good work everyone! ![]() Last edited by Synergi : 12-08-2006 at 02:21 PM. |

Carolyn,
Ditto on the 'cheers' for that 5 inch loss. Girl, that is good considering you're just about at goal. Synergi That heart rate monitor sounds like a great motivator. Sounds like a lot of calories being burned up. Kudos to you! I may have to look into that. Oh, it's funny, cause just after I asked you what the bean was, I saw an infomercial on TV......how ironic is that! I rather liked it, and it looks as though it would be effective, but then anything is, if you work it.... I was also curious about SS and where to get it. Although I have to master one thing at a time, but always like to know what's available. I found a program that I bought a while ago, and totally forgot about it, cause I put it behind the sofa to make way for all the Christmas stuff. It's called Core Secrets, and came with a stability ball. I have to study that thing, but right now, Christmas stuff is taking up most of my time. You do not want to see my living room now, as I started the tree this morning, and I have decorations all over. Just too tired tonight to finish. Going to get my jammies on and wind down before I hop into bed...... |

I know, I have the same problem Sazzie. There are so many great programs I want to try ..like that Fluidity Bar if you've seen the infomercial for that. What interests me with that it seems like besides toning it would be good for flexibility which I have 0 zich, nada of. But I have small rooms and I have one room where all my exercises equipement is that I don't use..like my bowflex knock off, or my pilates machine, my treadmill. I'm tempted to get rid of them on ebay so i can buy more junk I probably won't use lol.
I have my weights and bench..the most important parts of my toning and building muscle later when I am ready to start that. I have my BF, Turbo Jam, and Bean..and of course my DVD player and TV. For now that is about it for me on the exercise stuff. I was watching the P90x infomercial. No way i'd buy it, that program looks insane and made for those who love punishment. Which I don't. But it also makes a lot of sense. The principle of the program is, for 3 week you do, say aerobics...and just as your body adapts and gets use to the moves..you swtich and do Yoga or kickboxing. Never giving your body a chance to fully adapt. According to them, this not only breaks platues, it prevents them. I found this theory pretty interesting. Luckily Turbo Jam has many different work outs..some with bands, weights, balls etc so I can change my workout in a few weeks. Hopefully by then i'll have the energy for it. The Bean also has a full body work out i've yet to try. That might be why Carolyn is seeing such great inch loss. She's added/changed up her work out now she's getting good results again. Anyway, something to think about ![]() |

I, like you, Synergi do not plan to punish myself by aerobics. I absolutely hate aerobics. Tried it many years ago, when I was a lot younger, and hated it then, too!
I tried Billy whatever, forget the name, and gave it away to my daughter, who absolutely loves that type of workout. I abhor jumping up and down. It bothers my gazones. Fortunately, I am extremely flexible, and even when I don't work out regularly, I will stretch, and it gives me such a sense of 'lightness'. So, I'm sticking with BF and Core Secrets (if I ever get it out) and will look into SS. Read some info about it, and am interested. Didn't Carol write a detailed post about SS? I think I remember something about that; I'll have to re-read the posts to see. Anyway, I took a break from my Christmas baking and decorating, but time is a'wastin, so have to get back to it. |

I hate aerobics to. Turbo Jam so far is the only one I actually like. But It might be because Im doing the 20 minute work outs. If I was doing the 45-50 minute workouts i'm sure i'd feel different. I don't want to go over 20-30 minutes tops..My attention span and desire to do it starts to wane dramatically if it takes more then 20 minutes or so to finish
![]() Yes Carolyn gave a description on how you do the exercises for SS. I like the fact its very short on time. I think 7 minutes. Those are my kind of work outs lol. By the way, Body Flex is now marked down to 5.34 on HSN. What a bargain. They also have this 3d Ab machine regular 60 mark down to 21 and it has good reviews. I had to stop myself from pushing the buy button. Your so lucky your flexible. I seriously have always been rather stiff, even as a child. I've never worked on getting flexible either. I hear Yoga is good for it but I need Yoga tape that is extremely beginner since I am so stiff and can't do alot of the positions correctly. |
