Good for you. Take my advise and schedule your final fit of the dress as close to the date as possible. Your body will definitely be pulled in by then. Good luck. You can join us anytime on the Callanetics Challenge thread.

Yes you should take some pictures. There are moments when you look in the mirror and think "there's not really been much change". It still happens to me, but I can laugh and gently tell the voice to quiet itself because I have the pictures to prove it.

Keep up the good work. We would welcome your input on the Callanetics Challenge thread. Lots of sharing, encouragement and learning going on there.

Happy pulsing.

These are four months and two weeks since my last post. The previous ones are posts # 35 & 47 on this thread. Slow but steady incremental changes. I am quite pleased with the continuing progress. Callanetics will be part of my life from now on, so there will be new photos posted every four months from this point on. I've also lost a little over 10 pounds since New Years, without any dietary restrictions and occasional overindulgences. I'm human after all.

It's worth noting here that I've had to cinch up the waist on those shorts since late December. It's fascinating how Callanetics pulls the body in as a balanced event. That's why it sometimes looks like no changes are taking place. It's all happening simultaneously.

I worked these up to help with the perspective of change.

It's about seven months between them.

Back to Basics

After 10+ years on zero exercise...I am excited to try Callanetics once again.
I need to lose 25lbs and seriously tone up...as my muscles have gone to waste from lack of activity!
So motivated by these posts and pics!

Your arms have pulled in very nicely. What is really impressive to me is how your underarm area looks.

Even slim women, in their twenties have skin that pops out. I am talking about when you put your hands on your hips and you see that skin between your armpit and the band of the bra.

This area on you is tightening up. I always thought once you got past a certain age, it pretty much stayed loose. That is because I have never seen anyone tighten that up (who wasn't a bodybuilder), even with before and after weight loss pictures. Here's my proof in these photos it can happen. Very nice!

Also, look at how smooth the line of the silhouette is from your armpit to waist. It's very pretty.

I know Ouida. I'm fascinated with that sweet line myself. These photos prove that with Callanetics anyone can gain a more youthful level of fitness and form. Age is no longer a limitation.

Debra, sorry I missed your comment under these photos. The Callanetics secret to the underarm tightening is rolling the arms over as much as humanly possible before beginning pulsing. I always envision wringing out a wash rag, trying to get every drop of water out. Another secret is learning to keep those shoulder blades relaxed, down the back and widened out to the side. This helps keep the neck relaxed so all the work is in the upper arms. It also helps you position the arms higher. I'm working towards having a nice horizontal line after the arms are rolled over and before I bring the arms back behind. Not there yet, but I'm getting closer all the time.

When you learn to lengthen along the counter extensions you create the internal openness that facilitates the pulling in. During the month that I focused on upper body Callanetics work I was playing with lots of variations with upper arms. There's a post somewhere in the April challenge thread where I talked about this. Adding in variety hits many more muscle fibers from many directions, eliminating boredom and accelerating results.

I'm 60 Debra. Before I started back with Callanetics a year ago I had totally neglected my body for over two decades. You can do this too. I guarantee it.

Wow Susan congrats! These are amazing results! Can you please post a bigger version of your 2 month progress before and after pictures like the ones above, because they're really hard to see because they're small. My body right now is similar to your before pictures and I only have 2 months to do Callanetics before I visit my sister up north. I want to gauge how much progress could be possible for me in 2 months based off your 2 month progress. Thanks in advance.
