You jumped right into Super? WOW!
Umm- yes, I did jump right in..ONCE!

I was so crippled after the fact that I have since bought 10 in 10 to do for awhile instead...I haven't gotten it yet, but it's on the way!

Quick Abs is fine- I feel in in my gut but I can still walk afterwards...I can imagine the results you'd get if you could stick w/ Super consistently- WOW!

Thanks for any thoughts!
Callan states in both 10-in-10 and Super Callanetics that people with knee problems should avoid certain exercises in the tapes (these notes are at the END of both videos), but that many people have alleviated their knee problems by doing her exercises.

OK, my turn for before and after (before was Labor Day 2007 - after was about 2 weeks ago). I do 10-in-10 twice a week, Super Callanetics once a week, and Tae Bo Original Advanced workout twice a week:

did you all do these everyday or take a break and do the tapes like every other day??
Did you do something besides callanetics? Weights or cardio??

Tylar,

Most people do the Callanetics workout (one hour) 3 x a week for best results (you need the day in between to allow your muscles to rest/recover).

In my experience, I combined this workout with upper body weights (2-3 x a week) and cardio (30 mins, 2-3 x a week).

Callanetics (10 Years in 10 Hours, and Super, which are the two I've done) doesn't offer enough upper body, so that's why I incorporate lifting weights thorughout the week as well.

Hope this helps.

qtvet,

I just saw your Before/Afters in the other thread. Wow!

How did you lose the weight and how long did it take you? How valuable was Callanetics in that journey?

Thanks.

I was so inspired by these pics I actually did my first hour. I said I was going to months ago when I saw other before/afters and didn't. Now I am kicking myself, I would totally be in awesome bikini shape if I had started earlier. Oh well, 1 hour down and many more to go...my goal is a body like Twyla's...amazing!

I know how well callanetics work, I did them for about a year ages ago, and found the book again recently, so this thread has got me going.
Thanks everyone

WOW all of these pictures are great very inspirational. I think I'm going to start this too. gotta find the dvds.

I have huge thighs( thanks to genetics) and they look like they are never going to get slim. i've had so many people even my coach say "fro a short girl u have some huge thighs" i know some of it is muscle but i'm also trying to get rid of the fat.

If you do this exercise will it help in eliminating cellulite?

Yes, Callanetics targets cellulite, and with commitment will give the legs a far smoother appearance by utilizing the Callanetics concepts:

Quote:
Callanetics concepts utilize precise positioning to isolate specific muscle groups and then by using tiny yet powerful movements which cause the muscles to work even deeper requiring more muscle fibers to be recruited. More muscle fibers recruited means quicker toning and results you can feel in one hour and see in as little as two! Each muscle group is warmed, worked and then stretched to ensure total body health increasing strength, flexibility and endurance.

Cellulite is the result of subcutaneous fatty tissue pressing upward through the connective tissue of our skin. The development and severity of it has a lot to do with genetics and hormones.

Clean eating is the first order of business in getting rid of cellulite.

Remember to drink plenty of water, because it helps to wash away toxins from the body, improves skin elasticity and helps to metabolize our fat.

Stress also can contribute to cellulite. Stress causes a buildup of cortisol, a fat-storing hormone. The less stressed you are, the less cortisol you produce and the less likely you are to store fat. Try to take time to de-stress each day. (I find Callanetics to be completely "de-stressing" and relaxing)

Callanetics gives us long, lean, strong, SMOOTH muscles. The more lean muscle mass we have, the more calories we burn, even when we're not working out, and the more subcutaneous fat will be burned and used as fuel.
