Are you a shortie? I see your goal is 115. I am 5'0". I'm just curious. ![]() Last edited by deelicious : 10-31-2005 at 07:36 PM. |

Thanks for the warm welcome deelicious. To answer your question, I'm 5'5. I know 115 sounds a little small, but if I focus on 115, i'll be 125 in no time. LOL..... It's just my legs, hips, and butt that I have a problem with. I am small on top, heavy on bottom and short legged. So I look like a spoon. Does anyone else have short legs and a long torso. I feel like i'm cursed! I hope this will help me! I saw wannabeslim's transformation and it's freaking incredible!! That's what got me to buy the DVD. : ) I'll let you know how I like the DVD as well. Thanks Heatha

HI Heatha and welcome, yes I too have the dreaded short legs and long torso, ugggghhh, but when it is slim it looks okay lol, so hang in there, callanetics should do the trick, I am already seeing a space between my thighs, which amazes me, cuz I don't remember ever having slim thighs since I was a teenager. I did hour 8 yesterday, and I will do hour 9 tommorrow, I was doing them every day, but when I started skipping a day it seems like I saw results a little quicker, I'm not really sure, so some days if I feel really good, I will do it a few days in a row and then maybe skip a day, one poster made the remark that it keeps working for a few days, I believe it,
Hi Dee, I am still going, like the energizer bunny, I can't wait to reach hour 20 !! |

Good Morning! I did my 9th or 10th hour yesterday. I started out with supercallan as I'm in somewhat good shape from weights and pilates. It's still challenging but is getting easier and probably by the 20th hour or so I will get through the entire hour without resting (I'm already doing less 'breathers' than what they show on the tape).
So what do you experienced callans do when you master the exercises fully? Do they remain as effective? I assume it's no point in buying any of the earlier tapes as the supercallan is supposed to be the 'hardest' one. |

Hello everyone I love how many members we have now
I am going on hour 27 tonight I am going to do "10yrs" for a few more hours then when I get brave enough I will attempt "super callan" heatha79~yes it is difficult to get through the hour at first because you really do use muscles you dont normally use with most exercises, so even if you have done 200 lunges and squats everyday you will still struggle at first with callanetics imo...you just do what you can and each workout you will get stronger and your flexibility will improve. julielynn~ you are doing awesome, I cant wait to see your progress!I just got back OP with my eating today so I am certain my results will start showing after I get rid of this Halloween gain. here is before and after pic Amygirl ![]() ![]() this was after 16 hours of work. |

Hi, Everyone.
I began my first session Monday morning. Couldn't believe how sore I was on Tues a.m., even thought I'm used to lots of exercise, weights, etc...... wow! I did cardio on Tuesday and some floor work for my butt. Did Callan again on Wed. Cardio this morning. Question: Should we be doing this every day instead of skipping a day? I don't have the book. Not sure...???? I just figured cardio in between days will allow the muscles to repair. That's what you're told to do in weight lifting anyway. What are you guys doing? I only have time for 45 mins in the morning, so I actually haven't made it all the way through the tape yet. I've just gone back to the beginning each day. Maybe I'd better watch it all the way through to the end to see what I'm missing on the last 15 mins before I do tomorrow morning. I JUST KNOW it's working because I can feel it. I love that kind of pain.....that's when I know I'm accomplishing something! Wannabe, you look wonderful! Great inspiration to us! And by the way, I'm shorter legs than torso too, but I'm 5'7. It's just that I carry all my weight in my hips/thighs. Bummer! Callenetics! Twyla

I do the supercallan, and did the entire tape Sat, Sun, Mon, Wed. On Tuesday I did a 1 hour weights tape that includes a lot of squats so my legs did not get any rest. My legs were objecting to the abuse last night and I think I should do callan less frequently, perhaps only 3 times per week for now. The good thing is that I'm starting to feel very 'toned', my butt and hips have noticably firmed up.

Mariasol,
Good for you! How long is the supercallan? My guess is 3 or 4 x a week should be just right? What do you think? |

Watch-me-shrink
Supercallan is about 70 minutes (!!) and I just barely get through it all without skipping (apart from the split that I can not do). Yes, every 2-3 days is what I will aim for to let muscles rest in between. Cardio is probably good on the off-days and I will also do upper-body weights as I find callan lacking in this respect. |

shulamite......
I'm in the same boat as you, I have a bad knee due to a skiing accident when I was a kid. So hopefully it won't bother it too much. But I have learned to work my way around it. I am a bit extreme, so I'll just take some pain meds if it bothers me.LOL I will due what ever it takes to have my legs look like wannabeslim's. Don't worry, I won't hurt myself!!! |

wannabeslim4life~Have you had a chance to preview Super Callanetics.....you are in for some even greater results. Let me know what you think about it... you will have those splits down in no time!! shulamite~I am sorry to hear about your knee and pray it gets better. The most important thing is to totally relax when doing these exercise and not tighten your knees....it takes practice but you will get the hang of it. Hi Dee Are you still doing Super Callanetics?*WAVING* to everyone else .....Good Luck Peaches!!

Cindy - Thanks! I did my 14th hour or so (haven't kept track) of supercallan today and it's still challenging as I seem to increase the intensity at the same pace I'm learning the exercises. I can see that they will remain effective for quite some time yet.
A two day rest was good too. Especially my leg muscles get tired if I do it too often. My abs have improved quickly though, I did the full 50 of 'open-and-close' today ![]() |

Oh help give me encouragement ladies...
I did my first hour of Callanetics. OMG I wonder if I will ever be able to do this!!The arms were hard but I could get through most of it as well as the abs, with lots of rests of course. BUT the hips . I bent one leg, extended the other out to the side with arms above me and COULD NOT LIFT THAT FOOT OFF EVEN ONE INCH. What's up with that?? I can see working on these things bit by bit and building, but I couldn't even initiate the slightest of lift off the floor. And those pelvic scoops. no way jose. I can see how these would be tremendously effective. I have been lifting weights for 12 weeks and thought I would be somewhat stronger than this. I feel like I am pathetic. I am not worthy of the rest of you! ![]() |

I just finished the quick Callanetics/Hips and Behind - 20 minutes well spent! I also got the Quick Legs version and the AM/PM- Callanetics off of ebay in the mail today.
Wannabeslim4life you were the reason I ordered the tapes - I remember seeing the video cover - never paid much attention to them when they came out....don't think I can get the sweatshirt off of the offer in the package - it expired 9-15-92!! |
