WOE: Michael Thurmond's 6 Week Body Makeover!
Start Date: January 1, 2004 on the Thurmond Plan
Cyndi, that's the beauty of this program, it's forgiving. I went shopping today, not for clothing, but for skin care products at Lancome. Well, $180.00 later for 3 items, I decided "what the hell" and tried on some pants at another store. The salesperson looked me up and down and quickly asked, "you're about a 6 or a 4, right?" I nearly fell over in one of those California Fits (you know, where you have to put a spoon in your mouth).

I tried on the 6's and THEY FIT! The fitting room attendant told me I looked good in them and I DID!

I bought another one of those cute little blazers and a pair of heels. I'm still going to wait for a few more weeks to see what my true size will be then. No since in buying things I can't wear anymore or will only wear once or twice.

Later!

Cindyn, that's a problem when you say you hardly ate anything. Less is not more, especially in this case. You MUST eat all prescribed meals. No exceptions. Sorry you're feeling bummed. Been there done that, bought that t-shirt.

When you truly want something, the Universe will move you toward your goal, however, if there are unresolved issues afoot, then that's something a therapist needs to address with you. I did it and am glad and proud I did!

Overweight is not necessarily about overeating. There's always something EATING you.

Peace

Thanks Linda. I know that eating on schedule is key. I am so afraid of dry socket it is hard to chew things. I have been on program today with tiny cuts of chicken and veggies. Had egg white omlet with mashed banana for Breakfast. Do not want to lose momentum!!!

Cindy - can you do smoothies?? of course do not suck them through a straw! that will give you dry socket for sure!

soup is also a good option

WEndy, thanks. I have eaten soup but did not make any smoothies yet. I am a huge straw fanatic!! I ate pretty much on the plan yesterday. Cut my food really really small. I cannot do the pureed suggestions! Pureed veggies make me gag! I have been super careful. A bit bummed on the 3 pounds but they will go soon. Thanks for the imput. Are you doing the 6 week body make over?

back on plan today - i did great the first week , then wimped out for the next two - still kept my first weeks 4lb loss though! so back again for another try.....I have not been able to get in my cardio or my band workouts...goal is to get the cardio going this week. I tried the bands last week but it seemed very awkward, moving them from place to place - and i dont have a good place anywhere in my house....have you been using your bands?

I hate to admit I have not exercised. I have a brand new treadmill which I have used slightly but I like you am a bit awarkward with the bands.

Any one interested ..... Michael Thurman will be back on HSN on May 23 and May 24. His program is not on the site right now because it sold out. It was the best buy for the money.... you got alot of extras, unfortunately I missed it.... I am considering ordering on this next try (if the offer is still as good as it was).... Is anyone going to start a regular posting of achievement with this program??? Just wondered, if I get it........ The Provida boards are informative, but, I like it here better!!!!

Hello, Ladies. Stopping in the say hi and see what's happening. Ok, I'm not sure what's going on, but are you ladies following the menus in the binder? Pureed foods, etc. question: are you willing to eat like that forever? What about this dry gulch or something dry socket or something or other.

From reading your food descriptions, they don't sound too appetizing. Egg white omelette and mashed bannas. Please tell me you ate them separately (HA!)

I also read wherein one of you went on the Provida site, why don't you stop by my journal "Miss E Here!" and either pm me or just ask me outright for a menu.

That's what I was referring to when I said to prove that you had the kit at one time or another. I will help as I said earlier. I want to see you WIN!

O.K.................... please tell me your comment about purreed foods is not what I would be eating... I am seriously considering purchasing this program when it comes on HSN in two weeks, but, purreed food would not cut it. So, Linda Love, do you consider this plan better than Atkins , would it be do able to live with for an extended period, since I have around 80 to 90 lb. to drop and that wont happen in 6 weeks Do you think you lost better on MT than Atkins....????

WOE: Michael Thurmond's 6 Week Body Makeover!

OH, YES! MY GOODNESS, YES! I was on the Atkins' plan about 5 years ago and did lose weight, but it made me so insulin-sensitive, that if I ate a piece of bread or some form of starch, I was in trouble on the scale and would cry because there would be a 5lb gain. It was hard to lose it, too. After a while, I would re-induct on Atkins, and it just became a dissapointing experience. To that end, I went up to 190lbs and even though my friends said I wasn't that big (still squeezed into a size 12 and eventually headed out the door to a 16 by Thanksgiving), I was still chunky. I think my pics are in the gallery.

Anyway, I fell asleep on the sofa in late December, actually, I cried myself to sleep. My legs and feet hurt like screaming mee-mees because I was doing Tae-bo, Power 90, yoga, pilates, you name it and I was doing that shiza EVERYDAY with little to no change.

Well, I left the tv on while I was asleep on the sofa that night and at about 4:00a.m., the Michael Thurman informercial came on and this woman "Annie" was professing her success on the 6-week Body Makeover Plan and I was no where near Annie's girth, but this woman swore that it worked for her and it took her a little over a year to drop over 100 or more pounds, down to a size 8. I have spoken with Annie after I joined last January and she and the BMOS's (body makeover specialists) helped me find the proper eating program.

In 2.5 months, I dropped the weight, but still had the wrong mentality, so I started seeing a therapist to dig deeper. It's not just about eating and it was MY IDEA to go into therapy. You see, Sweetpoison, it's not always what we're eating, IT'S WHAT'S EATING US!

I still see my therapist when things get crazy like the silly bee-otches on the job who are supremely jealous of my looks. Yes! I wear a size 6 now, but they don't know what I went through to finally come to terms with my inner demons. I am a lady and ladies' deal with obstacles head-on. I get fired from assignments left and right because not only do I look good on the outside, I know my job. I am a legal assistant and I dress and act successful and the attorneys like me, but you have the overweight women who've been there forever with attitudes and they don't even know you. I should give them my therapist's number.

As far as eating this way long-term, my answer is HELL YEAH! I've been on this plan well over a year and I love it. I eat according to the plan that's designed for me with no spikes in my insulin and no weight gain.

I still have 20lbs to go, and I'm sticking with it, sister. I've never eaten so much good, fresh, and natural foods in my life. Forget the pureed shiza; it's for babies. You can't sustain an eating program with foods that aren't naturally consumed; no one can and should.

Take the blueprint and find your body type then go to town when your kit comes. There are 100s upon 100s of food ideas and preparation pairings to keep your interest.

I'll tell you what, when you get your kit, come to my journal over on Provida and post me via pm and I will be more than happy to work on an eating plan that includes mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables, breads, muffins, meats, etc. All designed for your individual body type. I can also guarantee if you follow the program to the Tee, you can expect to lose at least 7-10lbs in the first week and 2-5 every week.

Trust me. It works!

Ladies, it's "Perfectly on Plan." Me and another lady made that up last year. I was so adamant about being perfectly on plan and she coined it POP when she started her thread "100% Eaters, Not Cheaters." Her name is Lady in L.A. and she has gone from 185lbs. to 125lbs. and is still maintaining. I'm so proud of her.

There's so many women on that board that have gone from 250lbs.+ to 110lbs. or less. One woman Sharon has gone from 250lb.s to 106lbs. She's even in the informercial. She has a moto "No Enabling."

Sooo, to that, someone please pm on the "Miss E Here!" thread. I will then pm you with recipes after you let me know your body type or if you have the kit, we can expand on recipes and start the major countdown.

My size 8 jeans are loose on me now. I'm in my 6's and living fabulously. Just need some company in the Land of Fabulous!

Trust me on this one, that ditz Anna Nicole says "be envied" in her commercial for those diet pills, but YOU WILL BE ENVIED. I'm living proof that women can get really nasty when you look and dress better than they do. All you have to do is show up.

Vicki, we decided at the last minute to go camping and returned home today (Sunday). I've been cooking chicken breasts, blanching veggies, etc. and using my new food scale and Foodsaver. I will start tomorrow. It looks like it could be bland if you don't plan ahead and make different recipes. I plan on making it as interesting as possible, using lots of herbs and spices, etc. According to a lot of the posters on the provida website forum, tons of people have lost bunches.

I am a B. That means I can develop muscle easily, which I already knew. What I didn't know was that eating so much red meat was contributing to my muscle gain. I've been working with a trainer 3 x's/ week since Jan.1 and I feel like I'm bulking up (my bicep and thighs measure more now than when I started.) So I'm going to concentrate more on chicken, lean pork, and fish. Definately not my favorite things in life, but I am so ready for this.

There is a much more for my body type that I am excited to try. Let me know if you decide to try it! Oh, all most forgot about your eating out question. I will decrease how much I go out just to make it easier for me. I am going out Mon, Tues, and Wed with friends for my birthday. Am I crazy for starting now? Maybe, but I just can't wait!

Vicki, I forgot to say in my previous post that the plan gives you ideas for eating out at differet types of restaurants. For fast food they even list specific names.

I wanted to edit some spelling mistakes on my last post, but didn't see the 'edit' button. Weird...

Stacer, thank you so much for the info.... I noticed that HSN will only have MT on for 5/24 (Tues) and not today... dont know why the change.... the HSN website does not even have the program for sale... sure hope he has it for the show tomorrow.... I might call and question them... I think I will get it and check it out, if I dont like it, I WILL RETURN IT!!!! I am most likely the Queen of returns.

I have a food saver too..... Do you freeze your meat with your veggie or freeze them seperate...(for this program)? Those would be some small bags.

For those of you who are interested, Woman's World Magazine has an article that breaks down the body types and gives recipes for each one to do a 6-day makeover. It sounds like a boost. So for those of you who were curious about meals and ideas, I would start with this. Maybe if you see results you could by the program? I'm debating on giving it a try.

Did they say it was Michael Thurmond Program or just a body type program.... just wondering if there would be a difference.

Hi just received my kit.... I am a Type A and I am excited about starting But I have a question, I work at really busy medical office and I need help with my mid morning and mid pm snacks... something easy... fruit is the easy thing, but with protein I need some ideas.... to have someting that I can just bring to work and eat at my desk... without heating up etc...

I am really going to give this program 110%... I really need to lose this weight.. I am a diabetic and am having trouble with my hip and right leg...
So off this weigh
