Mary, that's such a touching picture of those men praying at the cross. And isn't it interesting that you mentioned how that memorial cross was built. I remember 9/11 like it happened just yesterday, and I also will never forget!!! I wrote a poem about 9/11 and posted it as a memorial on the internet that day, and want to share it with you.

The hurricane is supposed to hit us between 10 and 2 in the morning. Wouldn't ya know that it would hit in the middle of the night??? We have got all preparations done for it...

Patty we are already getting wind and rain from hurricane Ike and its not even coming our way here in Pensacola.
You buckle down ok and keep safe.
Guess Texas will get hit bad though and I hate to see that. We had talked about taking a trip down that way in October for our anniversary. But if it gets to messed up I guess not.
We take our vacation the last week of October because its our wedding anniversary and its not so hot then either.

Mary I hope that you will get to take your trip. What a wonderful time to have a vacation on your anniversary.. I got to go to a Golf Trip with my Henry and it was so much fun.

I got just about all my laundry done. I am washing and drying towels now and then I will be through... I didn't want to have to worry about laundry during the Hurricane...

We just got in from church services. DH and I are both tired for some reason. I had a busy day helping prepare the church for fall. It looks so nice decorated in all the beautiful fall colors.

Mary, thank God you're safe!!! Texas is being hit the hardest right now and on CNN news channel, they said that some people were standing too close to the waves, and a 19 yr old got sweep away into the ocean with no sign of his whereabouts. How sad. People brave the storm and just don't know how dangerous a storm can be.

Terri, you sound like you've been fighting a 'bug' like I have. I've been unusually exhausted and tired, and I think it's due to a 'fall bug.' I will keep you and your DH in my prayers. How wonderful of you to prepare your church for the fall, it sounds like fun.

Morning Ladies,

Hope you'll are doing fine. It's beautiful and sunny here on the west coast of BC, [sorry not the BC coast, I made a mistake of call it that. LOL.] this is the last week of summer and I'm off for holidays. The mornings are cool and the afternoons are warm, and we're expecting highs of 28 celius/80 Farenhiet. Last night I was looking on the internet at some Bed and Breakfasts that are on Vancouver Island, in Victoria. Victoria is a beautiful city with many victorian houses and beautiful gardens, and is a wonderful place to visit. I haven't been there since I was a child. I was thinking I should book a place to stay for a couple of days for Sept. 18 which is my birthday. Maybe I will, but I would have to book now. Probably Bed and Breakfast, plus bus enroute trip from vancouver to victoria, would coast around 350 dollars canadian. Will see if I can afford it, maybe. would be nice. I haven't done this before, nor gone on my own holiday. LOL.

I'm still praying for you Ladies to be safe and sound!!!

Hey, where is everyone???

I had a full day visiting with my Dad in the next town and then meeting my mom for dinner at Wendy's back home. You know that it's a small world, 'cause a lady that I haven't seen since High School was sitting at the next table having dinner with her DH and kids. [Her second marriage she said, 'cause she has 2 little girls and we're in our mid 40's.] Anyways, she came over straight away to say 'Hi' [I couldn't place her at at first, forgot her name. but, after she mentioned it I remembered her right away.] I told her that I'm going to the church up the street from Wendy's and sing in a worship team. She commented, "Oh still singing aye?" I replied, "ya, I guess I still am after all these years," I laughed. [You see we used to sing in the High School Choir together]. She's so grownup now!!! OH how people change. Seems happy with her new DH and kids. What a treat to see her again. God is good!!!

Patty, I'm hoping that you're doing okay. You're probably out of power for a while, 'cause of the storm and all, but even if you can't post I'm still praying for you and your DH. God is with you and keeping you safe!!!

Tammy~thanks for the complement. I never really like any pics of me so I just try to pick the one I dislike the least!

I have been in and out today. We went out to breakfast well, it was technically lunchtime. Did a little grocery shopping. Then had to go back to walmart to exchange my digital camera. I did not like the one I had just bought at all. Thank goodness they let me exchange it eventhough I did not have the receipt! It would've been dreadful to have had to keep the other camera.

Hope the coastal ladies are all safe!

I have a busy day tomorrow. We have the acceptance of the Pastor during services then at 1pm we are going to a cookout followed by a baptism around 2:30pm. Sounds like a lot to do!

I'll check in as much as possible tomorrow!

Terri, you are such a busy girl. I'm glad you were able to get an exchange on your camera, things like that can be annoying sometimes. I hope too that the Ladies are safe. Lets agree together in prayer that they will be okay.

JUST RUNNING THROUGH LETTING YOU KNOW THAT WE ARE SAFE AND SOUND. WE WEATHERED THE STORM JUST FINE... THE GOOD LORD HAD HIS HANDS ON US AND NOT ANYTHING WAS TOUCHED ON OUR PLACE... WE HEARD TREES FALLING AND i MEAN BIG TREES BUT WE NEVER COULD FIND WHERE THEY WERE. THANK YOU GOD FOR KEEPING US SAFE AND NOT EVEN A HAIR ON OUR HEAD WAS HARMED .... WE ARE WITHOUT POWER, AND USING OUR GENERATOR... I HAVE NOT IDEA WHEN THEY WILL HAVE IT REPAIRED, BUT THAT IS OKAY, WE ARE ALL FINE AND THIS IS WHAT COUNTS...

Patty, that fantastic news!!! I was so worried about you and your DH, and now God has answered our prayers!!!

Attention Ladies: We are so worried!!! Something has happened to our pastor and his family. They didn't show up on friday night at the church and haven't been seen since. The pastor was supposed to start sunday school this morning, but it was cancelled due to their absence. Nobody knows anything, [nor are they talking; maybe a family crisis??? ], but the church went ahead with sunday service, [it was short because they had to call our retired pastor who didn't have time to prepare a sermon, but gave a word from the bible and then the benediction. Afterwards, we had our annual picnic downstairs. It was wonderful, but we all had a 'pit' in our stomachs.

Please pray for the Collin's family, that whatever crisis they are facing if be, that God will intervene and bring them back here safe and sound. [They have been waiting for a year now, for their house to sell from down east, and have been staying with friends here from the church.] We are all family and are very concerned right now. It isn't like our pastor to leave like this. Hope we hear from them soon, amen.

Tammy~Sorry to hear about your Pastor. That is so strange isn't it? I'll remember them and you church in my prayers. You'll have to keep us updated as to how/where they are. That is just so odd. I do hope they are all safe and sound.

The baptism was so nice today. The winds were strong but they calmed down while we were near the water, but afterwards, man it cut loose. You couldn't even see the beach for blowing sand. But the actual baptism was so nice. After a prayer he walked and in hand with our Pastor and a deacon into the water, went under and as they came back we all sand "Bring them in". It was touching. We all had just walked back up the hill to our picnic area when the strong winds came in. Thank goodness we ate before going to the water. It was a good day!

Terri Baptism is such a wonderful experience... I was Baptized when I gave my Heart to Jesus when I was 9 years old. I still feel the experience and it was so wonderful letting everyone know that I accepted Christ as my Savior...

We will be going to Dawn's house tomorrow to do some work on it and we will be gone from 1 to 2 weeks... I wanted to let you girls know, so you wouldn't think that I was dropped off of the face of the earth, Ha, Ha... You girls keep our thread going and God Bless...

Terri, thanks Dear. I'm glad to hear that the baptism went well!!! I was baptized when I was 15 yrs. I've always thought that getting baptized in a river was a very special experience, like Jesus did, not like getting baptized in a tank. LOL.

Ladies, thank you all for your prayers and concern. Mom and I prayed last night and afterwards she told me that she had driven by the church around 7pm. Said it looked like 'maybe' the pastor's van [golden] might have been parked beside the youth pastor's truck [red], but she wasn't sure. I will keep you all posted. God has it all in his hands!!!

Oh, I'm off this week on holidays!!! Don't quite know what I'm going to do, but will help keep this thread going. I'm getting ready to go out and have tea at Tim Horton's. Will see you all later.

I just have to share something with you that my Henry said... We were kidding around yesterday and we were talking about what each one of us knows, well all I could come up with that he didn't know about is make-up, and he said well what is the big deal about make-up, and I said some Women need it and he looked at me with loving eyes and said " You don't." Isn't that just precious... Even at 61 years old my Henry treats me like a Bride...
