Turning 30 ...
Turning 40 ... Turning 50 ... Or whatever age. I think maybe it's not so much about the number, but rather looking at who we are - right now - and not feeling satisfied. Not feeling satisfied with our bodies, our identities, our families, our role(s) or (enter your dissatisfaction here). I really like what Charski said about focusing on the positive. We only have control over three things: our thoughts, what we visualize internally, and our actions. Perhaps focusing your thoughts on what you'd like the future to look like, and taking action toward that, then turning 40 may be the best experience in your life yet... You've already taken one positive action and that's being a part of "lowcarbfriends". Lori If the Bible interests you at all, there's a verse that talks about what to set our thoughts on - what's true, what's noble, what's admirable, excellent and praiseworthy. Like Charski said, "Look at things with a positive mindset as much as possible. Realize that you can't change some things, so you learn to accept - like aging gracefully!" I think I'll adopt this too! (I'm headed toward 44 this year ) |

I am 42 this September and I LOVE MY FORTIES!!!
My girls are 10 and 13 and also homeschooled, so of course I have a ways to go to the empty nest syndrome, BUT I don't worry. I will still have my service to God, to my church, to my family, to my community. I have an at-home business that I adore. I will look forward to grandchildren someday. I will continue to be physically active and fit and healthy for so long as God is willing. Don't be afraid of aging. It's all part of God's plan and a beautiful process, all along the way.
