I wanted to stop by and mention that I had no idea this thread would continue on as it has. When I first started it, I thought I was starting a thread that would generate a few posts and then die out. BUT, GOD proved me wrong. I feel such friendship here among you all. I don't post as much as I should, but I do pop in from time to time. There is LOVE here, JOY here, PEACE, here and GOD is definitely here !

Well, I live in Wisconsin and am currently on medical leave for bi-polar disorder. I am bi-polar 1 which means I am depressed most of the time and hypomanic some of the time. Although right now I am feeling much better, but I have been off of work for almost one month.

I hate my job which has a lot to due with the reason I am off right now. It creates a lot of stress for me which I have a very low tolerance for due to the bi-polar.

I have a great husband and two dogs. I became close to the Lord in my late 20's and find him to be a great strength for me when I am having trouble.

My husband and I love to ride motorcycles (I have my own bike) and I like to draw, read and cook. I really like the low carb way because it makes me feel so good. I am really hoping it will help (and I believe it already has) with my mental illness. I have lost about 5 1/2 pounds in 8 days. Yeah for me!!

I enjoy walking and riding my bicycle also.

Thank you for welcoming me to your site. I will keep you all updated on how I am feeling and pray for you all.

It's so nice to learn more about you. We know that GOD is a healer of "ALL" things. You have come to the right place, because your life will not remain the same. I know there is POWER in prayer, and you have my continued prayers as of today.

Low carbing has truly been a blessing to me and many on this site. It allows you to be in control, feel better about yourself, be that healthy person you have always wanted to be; and the weight loss is just a bonus.

Oh I am so glad that you shared with us your story... I too have had bouts of depression in my lifetime, so I know where you are coming from... Our Lord is bigger then anything that we have to face, and he is here for us...If it hadn't been for God, I would still be in a depressive state, but his love for me has brought me through many things and I am so thankful...

I'm sorry about what you've gone through. I just meditate on what Paul say's in Corthinthians 2 12:9-10

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

That is such a powerful scripture for us Believers.
I know that Gods grace gets us through each day no matter what our situation is, no matter if we get sick, no matter what happens to us, Gods grace is suffiecient.
We are strong in Him, despite the things that happen to us. If we never get healed from anything, His grace is sufficient enough to get us through the day.
I believe that is what we have to remember and recieve that by faith.

Because when we wake up in the morning to a new day, we think, Wow, I did I get through yesterday! It's by Gods grace!!! Hallelujah!!!

Not feeling to perky today but did want to say hi to you all before I got off the computer.
Just having A down day thats all and depressed. I get this way alot and don't know why.
I just pray to God to help me get through the day. I know He knows how I am feeling.
My knees are hurting me bad, I took a pain medication but it doens't help much.
Thinki I will just go lay down and rest some..

Mary, Dear, it could be the diet you are on. Now I don't want to put a kink in it, but the whole time I was on LC I was down and depressed. I had to get off of it, because I was so moody. Now I know some can do it without problems, but I always felt down and didn't want to be around people. Are you hypothyroid? If you are, don't get under 30 grams of carbs a day. You need that many for your thyroid to work right. I have come to realize that we all are not going to be a size 0, that God made us all different sizes, and I am one to come to realize that I really am a Happy Fat person, and I would much rather be that way, Happy Fat, Skinny Depressed, so I find joy in the Lord and, if I lose weight it's great, if I don't then that's ok too. I don't put in store so much about being thin anymore and I can praise God for making me who I am...

I love you Mary, and want you to be Happy...

Oh and one more thing. My Aunt Phyllis was a big woman and she was the prettiest woman I ever saw for her size. I never thought of her as being fat, while I was growing up. All I could see was the love of God she had and for the love, and caring she gave to people. She really was beautiful inside and out...She was the one that lead me and my Mom to Jesus. We both went to the alter when I was just 9 years old and I gave my Heart to him..My Mom was 28...

Thank you so much for those beautiful words. I almost cried when I read them. I believe bi-polar is my cross to carry and some days are harder than others. But if Jesus can do it, so can I.

Andrea, I never thought of depression as being a cross to carry, but you may have something there, but then God can deliver you of the Depression. I just don't believe that God wants us to be depressed for depression does not come from God. Only good things come from him. He wants us to be Happy for he says for us to have Joy in the Lord. Just a thought and wanted to share.

Morning Ladies,

Yesterday was Canada Day for us canadians. I had to work but that was okay, because I got the monday off making for a long weekend. I celebrated by getting 2 t-shirts customed with canadian decos put on them at the t-shirt shop. One for me and one for mom. I can wear them anytime and for next year's celebrations. My church has it's annual Canada Day celebrations for the community and although I couldn't volunteer this year, I know that it is a blessing and people love to attend even if they don't attend our church.

Andrea, I suffer from depression too and my nephew is bipolar. I take an antidepressent a very low dose because I have a chemical imbalance, it keeps me happy and I'm thankful for that. God is in control and He's healing us daily and giving us a fresh day day each morning. Praise Jesus!!!

I feel okay today. I was up on the scale today but I think that is because I had too much cheese last night.

I notice that I feel so much better when I am taking Omega 3's. Does anyone else out there take them?
