![]() God Bless you all. Hope you have a wonderful day in the Lord. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Time for Everything There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and at time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. The secret to peace with God is to discover, accept, and appreciate God's perfect timing. The Holy Bible Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Rise and Shine girls, it's a beautiful morning. I don't know what is the matter with me lately but I have been waking up at night being very nauseous. This really kind of concerns me.
Anyway, you girls have a great day... |

Patty, I am here today. Wonder where everyone else is!
Not much going on with me today as usual. We are going over to our daughters house tonight for suppper, shes makeing some shrimp jambalya and wanted us to come eat to. She is having others over to. I think its one of her friends birthday or something. Boy its getting HOThere and my sunburn I got last week is still alittle pink but its gradually tanning. I should know with my fair skin I needed a high uv sunscreen on instead of the lighter one. The news last night on TV was warning people at the beach that the UV index was high, it was 11, and that you can burn real easy. YOu sure can burn easy to............... I love keeping a tan so I usually take it alittle at a time and not all at once like I did this time... Went shopping and got me two new pair of capri pants and some sleeveless tops to go with them for the summer. I love wearing them when we go out. I have been trying to get rid of some of my older clothing and buying some newer updated ones especially tops. I gave the church alot of them for their clothes closet. Will see ya all alter. Be good and God Bless. __________________________________________________ "Twinkies, Root Beer & God" There once was a little boy who wanted to meet God. He knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so he packed his suitcase with Twinkies and a six-pack of root beer, and he started his journey. When he had gone about three blocks, he met an old man. He was sitting in the park just staring at some pigeons. The boy sat down next to him and opened his suitcase. He was about to take a drink from his root beer when he noticed that the old man looked hungry so he offered him a Twinkie. He gratefully accepted it and smiled at him. His smile was so incredible that the boy wanted to see it again, so he offered him a root beer. Once again, he smiled at him. The boy was delighted! They sat there all afternoon eating and smiling, but they never said a word. As it grew dark, the boy realized how tired he was and he got up to leave, but before he had gone more than a few steps, he turned around, ran back to the old man, and gave him a hug. The old man gave him his biggest smile ever. When the boy opened the door to his own house a short time later; his mother was surprised by the look of joy on his face. She asked him, "What did you do today that made you so happy?" He replied, "I had lunch with God." But before his mother could respond, he added, "You know what? He's got the most beautiful smile I've ever seen!" Meanwhile, the old man, also radiant with joy, returned to his home. His son was stunned by the look of peace on his face and he asked, "Father, what did you do today that made you so happy?" He replied, "I ate Twinkies in the park with God." But before his son responded, he added, "You know, he's much younger than I expected." Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. People come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. |

Diana No dear, I don't think it is because I am hungry, something else is going on. Every time I get nauseous, I start the chronic itching, so I know it is stomach related.

I think obesity is a sin and I have tried everything I can to lose the weight and eat the way God wants me to but i have failed so many times.
Now I am prayeing to God about my eating habits and asking Him for His help and guidance. I am now thinking about what I put into my mouth and not just stuffing it in without any thought of what it is. I eat slowly and enjoy me food and really taste what I am eating. I know food is for nourishment for the body so i am treating it as such and not something to fill a void in my life like I was doing. Praying has really helped me control my eating, I suggest you all try it to. Found this article and thought you all might like to see it. ________________________________________ "Are You Ruining Your Christian Witness?" What's so wrong with overeating? Consider the effects it has not only on your body, but on your Christian witness to the world. Being overweight: Destroys your body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit Steals your energy, zeal, and ability to serve the Lord physically Is public proof of your lack of self-control Reveals flagrant hypocrisy which ruins your Christian witness Reinforces your values of instant and excessive gratification Displays your obvious self-centered overindulgence These are hard truths. But only when you face them can you ask God to help you eliminate this sin from your life. In the Old Testament, when a child was rebellious and completely unrepentant, his parents were required to take him out to the city gates so that he could be stoned to death. Read Deuteronomy 21:18-21 and notice what sins he was guilty of: "If any man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey his father or his mother, and when they chastise him, he will not even listen to them, then his father and mother shall seize him, and bring him out to the elders of his city at the gateway of his hometown. They shall say to the elders of his city, 'This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey us, he is a glutton and a drunkard.' Then all the men of his city shall stone him to death; so you shall remove the evil from your midst, and all Israel will hear of it and fear." God regards gluttony as a serious offense which is linked with stubbornness, rebellion, disobedience, and drunkenness. Fortunately for us, we are no longer under the old covenant, so we don't have to suffer stoning for our sins! However, we still have a responsiblity to ruthlessly cut all sin out of our lives. Mary this may be well in good, but you know what? There are people that eat very little and are overweight and yet I know some really thin people that can eat 3 or 4 platefuls of food and never gain an ounce. Most thin people eat a lot more then we do. There are other things that make a person overweight, such as Medications. There are a lot of them that will make you gain weight, even though, you may not be eating much.
Granted, we should try to take care of ourselves, but I refuse to starve anymore. The Lord made us who we are and we need to be happy and being thin will not do this. Happiness comes from within. My Aunt Phil was one of the best Christians that I ever knew and that lady weighed over 200 lbs., but she was beautiful. We don't have to be a size 0. The media has ruined us on this, and I know a lot of people that are overweight and are very healthy. Anyway, I just wanted to bring my thoughts in this...

Obesity is not a sin, gluttony is.
I believe that if we put the wrong foods in our mouth then of course we are going to get fat. It's choice. God gives us a choice and if choose to eat incorrectly then of course we will get fat, but if we put the good food in our mouth then we will see the benefits. It's like Paul says, "All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any." And again he says, "All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify." I also believe that we will not be judged by our physical appearance, it's the condition of our heart that God looks at. So we need to get those thoughts out of our thinking. "For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving;" I think we just need to use our minds that God gave us use selfcontrol. I know it's hard and our flesh gets in the way, but God knows that about us. He knows we are not going to perfectly eat how we should. That's why we are in His grace. Because He makes a way for us when we are tempted. Ladies we just need to commit our ways to Him and walk in faith. We can do this, God had given us the means!!! Love ya!

Diana, what you said is what I meant and Baby you said it so well. Thanks for the input.
Back to CAD today. I just cannot control my eating unless I eat protein first and then eat dinner, I do so much better. The Chronic Itching and my Stomach was so bad yesterday. I just hope that I get over this soon, especially since the girls will be coming at the end of this month. |

This is really interesting and educational to. I bet you never knew this information before, but you should..
Its about our country and God.................. ---------------------------------------------- (Laus Deo ( Praise be to God ) On the aluminum cap atop the Washington Monument in Washington, DC are two words: Laus Deo. No one can see these words. In fact ... most visitors to the monument have no idea they are even there and ... for that matter ... probably could care less! But there they are ... 555 feet, 5.125 inches high ... perched atop the monument to the father of our nation. Overlooking the 69 square miles which comprise the District of Columbia, capital of the United States of America. Laus Deo! Two seemingly insignificant, unnoticed words ... out of sight and, one might think, out of mind ... but very meaningfully placed at the highest point over what is the most powerful city in the world. And what might those two words ... comprised of just four syllables and only seven letters ... mean? Very simply ... "Praise be to God!" Though construction of this giant obelisk began in 1848 when James Polk was President of the United States, it was not until 1888 that the monument was inaugurated and opened to the public. It took twenty-five years to finally cap the memorial with the tribute Laus Deo! "Praise be to God!" From atop this magnificent granite and marble structure ... a visitor can take in the beautiful panoramic view of the city with its division into four major segments. And from that vantage point one can also easily see ( whether plan of the designer, Pierre Charles l'Enfant , or Divine Intervention ) a perfect cross imposed upon the landscape ... with the White House to the North. the Jefferson Memorial to the South ... the Capitol to the East ... and the Lincoln Memorial to the West. A cross ... you say? How interesting! And ... no doubt ... intended to carry a meaning for those who bother to notice. "Praise be to God!" Within the monument itself are 898 steps and 50 landings. As one climbs the steps and pauses at the landings the memorial stones share a message. On the 12th Landing is a prayer offered by the City of Baltimore; on the 20th is a memorial presented by some Chinese Christians; on the 24th a presentation made by Sunday School children from New York and Philadelphia quoting Proverbs 10:7, Luke 18:16 and Proverbs 22:6. "Praise be to God!" When the cornerstone of the Washington Monument was laid on July 4th, 1848 deposited within it were many items including the Holy Bible presented by the Bible Society. Praise be to God! Such was the discipline, the moral direction, the spiritual mood given by the founder and first President of our unique democracy ... "one nation, under God." I am awed by Washington's prayer for America. Have you never read it? Well, now is your opportunity ... read on! "Almighty God; We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy holy protection; that Thou wilt incline the hearts of the citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to government; and entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow citizens of the United states at large." "And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication, we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." Laus Deo! As you might have guessed ... I kind of like the idea that our Pledge of Allegiance includes the phrase "under God." It is clear when one studies the history of our great nation that Washington's America was one of the few countries in all the world established under the guidance, direction and banner of Almighty God, to whom was given all praise, honor and worship by the great men who formed and fashioned her pivotal foundations. And when one stops to observe the inscriptions found in public places all over our nation's capitol ... one will easily find the signature of God. We are a nation under God!!! Laus Deo! |

Any plans Ladies for Mothers day? We're going to celebrate it on Saturday so my mom and sisters can have their time on Sunday. It will be fun! What's for dinner tonight? I need some ideas, lol! Just wanted to let you know that I had a good check up this morning at the doctor. I had even lost more weight to.
Since about April 15 until today I have now lost 5 lbs. I am proud of myself because I did not think I was doing that well. My weight loss is usually real slow but I will take the 5 lb. lost if he said I had lost that much. My blood pressure and everything else was good to. My arthritis still bothers me alot especially my knees and he gave me some pain patches to use on them, they are a prescription kind, never had them before so hope they will ease the pain up some. My daughter took me to the doctor today and we went by Olive Garden and had their soup and salad for lunch afterwards. It was nioce, i did leave the bread sticks alone though, I was good today..... You have a great week-end and a Happy Mothers day on Sunday. ____________________________________ "Searching For God" In my lifetime quest For peace and happiness, I looked for the God of creation Seeking my eternal salvation. I sought God everywhere Vainly searching in despair, In no place could I find This Savior to call mine. I read the worlds religions Trying to see a vision Of where God might be But the Lord escapes me. I've searched for God in mind But He eludes me every time, My thoughts cannot make clear Why the creator is not here. I sought God from preachers And world famous teachers, I sought from priest and rabbi But God's grace passes me by. I studied the Bible and other books And pilgrim journeys I took, Searching for God in every place But in none did I see his face. I searched holy places and shrines Looking for divinity signs But each time I feel God is near His presence disappears. In desperation I fell to my knees Crying, "why have you forsaken me?" I've searched for you again and again! I hear a gentle voice whisper---- " You did not invite me in" |
