Judgement

It's one of the ugliest words I know, yet I see it every day and I myself am guilty of it. Nobody is perfect. Nobody. We all just do the best we can to lead a happy, healthier life. Some of us eat too much, some don't eat at all; some spend money they don't have and others are way too frugal for their own good; some are religious, some are not; some smoke and others don't; some have an education and others do not. My point is, regardless of the differences in each and every one of us, it is okay and I for one want to embrace it. We may not always agree with each other and I'm glad; if we did, what a boring site this would be! I think almost every one of us here has felt judged at some point in our lives where our weight is concerned, but it does not stop there. All of us come here for support and guidance and many of us let our guard down and share quite a bit of ourselves with total strangers, sometimes more than we anticipated. This is where I have seen the judgement commencing. I know of one instance just recently where I judged Coal and that has been bothering me and I wanted to say I'm sorry to her and bring this subject to light. If you see a glimpse of yourself in what I have written, maybe you too will think a bit longer before hitting that send key. Acceptance is a beautiful thing. Please don't flame me. Just something that's been on my mind.

I don't think anyone will flame you. If anything, I think you will hear a lot of "Amens." I think this is a well-timed reflection and post. Thank you for posting it.

I agree. You try so hard to be above it, but no matter what, you find you are doing it about something or another. Yep, just makes us human.

It's one of my worst qualities and one that I pray about and ask forgiveness for constantly. I find that I am more judgemental when I am dissatisfied with myself. It's something I work on a lot and am only partially successful at. I find that a lot of times when I am judgemental GOD whams me with something and I learn a lesson.

It's interesting that there is a fine line between being judgemental and just disagreeing with how someone does something. You can disagree with the way a person does something but still respect the person's point of view and the person. I think you are judgemental when you don't like what someone does and think less of that person because of it, label them, or regard yourself as being better.

Perfectly said.

We all have failings, and I believe one of the most important parts of life is to constantly strive to be better human beings.

Thanks, Jenny.
