Hi I'm new here!
Hello,
I'm new to this site. My name is Diana, I'm 45 years old and a happily married Christian woman. I'm doing Atkins right now and I've lost about 33 lbs since late April of this year. I was checking this website out last night and saw some really nice people hear, and I hope to become friends with you. ![]() I love to encourage, support and pray for others. ![]() As soon as I read some of your posts, I really felt this is where I wanted to be. I just came from another website similiar to this, but believed that I wasn't to stay there. Right now I'm getting ready for work, but I will check in again in about an hour or so. It's funny because I work for my Dad at his home office and they just live across the street from me. I really have a long way to go huh! LOL! Well, I will hopefully talk to everyone soon. Just wanted to say hi.
I am also trying to lose weight but so far am not to sucessful lately. I had lost some a few years ago but still have a long way to go yet to meet my goal but some reason I just cannot seem to lose it lately so I have started over again with it. Yes this is a wonderful christian site to be on, I really like it alot here. Hope to get to know you better and lets lose our weight together. |

Lets meet here every chance we can and just talk about our losing weight ok.
I have a nice steak out to cook for our supper tonight and i am going to just make a salad to go with it. So far today I have eaten good and not blown it any. I am alittle older than you are and it seems like lately I have been having some problems losing anything. Think its due to that I do not get out or get as much exercise as I use to due to some health problems. I just am not burning up the calories or fat like I once did, at least that is what i think. Will check in with ya tomorrow....

I think I've been losing weight slow too, and I think it may have to do with maybe eating the sugar free ice cream after dinner. Not every night but maybe twice a week. I also heard that the Atkins bars are not as good as they claim to be, so it could be that as well for me. The one thing we have to remember is if we don't see it in the scales, then we're losing inches, as I found out recently. I've been flucuating between 213 and 214 for the that last week or two, and I thought well I'm just going to be a little stricter with what I eat. Then yesterday morning as I was getting dressed, I decided to try on a size 20 jeans, and they fit! So I thought I must be losing inches because about 4 weeks ago they were a bit snug, I could button them, but I still wasn't as comfortable and they are now. When I first started Atkins I was wearing a size 24 jean. I don't exercise like I should either. I keep telling myself I need to but haven't yet. I will soon, hehe! But other than that, I'm eating a protein and salad for lunch and dinner. For breakfast I'll eat a couple of eggs, anyway, with either 3 pieces of bacon, or turkey sausage, or a hamburger pattie. You know what I love to eat sometimes too is, it may sound weird, pork rinds with melted grated cheese. Like nachos, and a little bit of salsa on it. To me it's really good. I'll much on walnuts as a snack. I like to keep them in the freezer, they taste fresher that way. Let's see what else, sometimes celery, but I like to keep that for my salad. Other than that, I don't snack on anything else. You may already know about the website called "Linda's Low Carb Recipes". Some told me about that and it has such a big range of recipes. They are alot that are good for induction phase as well. I've made several of the recipes and they are delicious! Especially the "diner potatoes", oh my gosh, they remind me of Cracker Barrels has brown casserole. She uses cauliflower. Yummm! So Mary, I'm always checking in here in the morning. I work for my Dad and it's easier for me to be online when I don't have too much to do. I love talking to you, any time you get to write, I'm here! |

I am eating alot of protein to, I love steak and probably eat to much of it. I try not to eat eat to much bacon because the salt in it causes me to swell and i am on water pills now for swelling so I don't want any more on me.
Am trying to drink all my water but for some reason that has been hard for me. I make alot of salads including chicken and tuna salads. My problem is my exercise, I have some health problems that limit my exercise even walking so i don't burn many calories off me. I lose but slowly. When I get to a size 18 comfortably I will be ok with that for awhile but right now my 20-22 are still fitting me and I cannot seem to get back underthat. I was at one time but gained some back so i am having to get that off again. Have you ever done that? After all that hard work to lose I get ill and lay around for months and gain some back, I promised myself i would not do that but I did anyway......I must be nuts.... |

Right now I am having some problems with my eating and fighting with that but I know soon I will get back on track, always seem to at least. Do you ever get like this? I mean do good for a while and then for no apparent reason just goof up and eat everything in sight. Wonder why I do that, I know better...Wierd isn't it? My church is called " Spirit of Truth Ministries" I love attending a healing and deliverence ministry. It is always a powerful service, things happen every week. It's not just sitting and learning, it's learning and witnessing God's power. My life has changed in amazing ways since I have drawn near to God! I can not begin to thank Him for the things He has done in my life!

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing . DeterminedToLose, hope you are still losing the weight. Sometimes it seems harder to lose the older we get. I am 61 and its been hard for me. I am losing but slow. How about you? Is it coming off any faster on you?
I have some health problems so my exercises are limited or I would be out running and walking to burn up that fat. Do you exercise much? I think the exercise sure helps with the weight lost, I just feel bad because I cannot get more of it. I am making a stir fry tonight for supper, hope it taste ok because its a new recipe I am trying out. See ya all later. Be good.............. |
