Taking a break
from LC. I have been sick with a summer cold and hubby is cooking for me. I had yesterday 4 slices of bread and a really small slice of choklit cake. I don't feel any cravings.. in fact I don't want to eat at all. Nothing.. Well at least the bread was Natures own lc bread. I am taking Nyquil at night to sleep and I know it has sugar to beat the band in it, but it allows me to sleep without coughing my head off..
Hubby said that if I just hang on to my faith in the Lord and must take a break for a few days until I am over this malady, it will not end the world and then I can resume as before. He is fixing chicken noodle soup for me today. Sure hopes that "Jewish penicillin" works... I feel miserable!! So, if I don't show up for a week, don't fret, I shall return..yeah, like I would be missed with this huge wonderful crowd of folks..lol ![]() Y'all take care... ![]() Kitt

Feel better soon. Hey there is a diabetic medicine just like Nyquil. It works great!!! Maybe have some Brooth, and try to stay LC. No reason to quit it.
I get sick real good once a year and never have to go off plan |

I have had many a cold, even flu, during my journey. Nyquil and Dayquil liquicaps work great. Chloraseptic spray never messed me up. Nature's Own bread rawks when sick. Take care!

I do hope you feel better soon. Just some humble advice from me to you for your speedy recovery Be careful with simple sugars as they actually supress the immune system therefore dragging your cold out longer Tea/plenty of liquid nyquil caplets have less sugar broths and soups Apple Cider Vinegar alkalizes your system therefore building your immune system for a speedier recovery. Again, I do hope you feel better and remember that whole real foods build your immune system and processed food breaks it down. |

Most health food stores sell sugar free cough syrup... although you have to watch out that it's a suppressant and not an expectorant... I hope you feel better soon:-)

Hi folks.. I am some better... went to church and went to see Gospel singer Terry Terrell sing this afternoon.. I just sat, but I figured if I could just be with the Lord, that I would feel better.. and so I did.. I had a prayer answered too, but I will relate that to y'all later...
I am on track pretty well.. the only thing I am using that has sugar is the Nyquil.. but only a third of a dose.. and so that should be okay.. I am defreezing a chicking to make some nice soup with, and no noodles... just broth and some fresh garden veggies and the bird.. I feel well enough to cook for myself.. hubby has no concept of what has or hasn't got carbs.. My friend Nan gave me some Wild Rice that she said to put into the soup. I will put some in.. it is whole grain and the real thing.. As far as going to a pharmacy, well I live wwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy out in the sticks, and I would probably have to put 80 miles on my car for some other cold meds....so I will just make do with what I have and try to remember to stock up on some stuff next time we go to the big city.. lol Catch y'all later folks, I am crashing for the day.. Blessings Carolyn |
