I need to talk
There are a lot of things in my past that are still troubling me today and I don't know what to do about it. I almost wish I were Catholic so I could go to confession. I don't understand some things and other things make me feel like a terrible human being. I want to get help and move past my past. What should I do? I feel like I need to talk and sort things out and I can't talk to my husband because I am too ashamed. Should see if my PCP will give me a referral for a physiatrist or should I see a counselor. I just don't know what to do but this has been going on for as long as I remember and I want to get help for whatever "it" is.

Poor thing...
![]() Yes you should talk to your doctor about refering you to someone to talk to. Confession can be good because priests are trained in counseling...they do the forgiveness and penance thing, but I personally think that the forgiveness comes from within yourself, and your sincere feeling of being sorry for your actions. But the priest/councilor can help you understand how you are feeling. Actually I bet if you went to a Catholic church a priest would be happy to talk to you even if you aren't Catholic. Also, please feel free to PM me if you want to talk. Cathy

Well, I am Catholic and I go to confession whenever I'm feeling the way you are feeling right now. Senorina is correct...you don't have to be Catholic to go speak to a Priest! I suggest you call any parish that is near your home and just ask for either an appointment or find out when they have confession. You won't be sorry

Tex, Jesus is a great listener...He said "When we confess our sin, he is faithful and just to forgive us, and to cleanse us of our sin" He's heard everything, and He still loves us! I'll listen if you want to talk too.
