Tramatic Experience. I guess I am looking for a little shamless support?
Hey all. I have never really posted a thread such as this before, but I reaching out for some comforting words. I understand if this gets moved, because it does not relate to low carb in anyway.
A good friend of mine killed himself last night. He threw himself off of a bluff here at school. I was on a search team with the police this morning when my party found the body. He was a good friend of mine, and I am taking this hard. As in many suicide cases, this came as a total shock to us all. He was the nicest, smartest, and social young man I have ever met. I guess I am looking for a little advice or support. I have never been in a situation like this before. Here is a link to the incident: http://kstp.com/article/stories/S20541.html?cat=1 (Horrible picture of him) And this is a picture that was recently taken of him, me on the right. ![]() Thanks for taking time to look at this.

Amy . . . hugs to you. How horrible to have to experience this not only as his friend, but as a member of the search team. I work with high school students, and have had a couple commit suicide over the years. It's one of the hardest situations to grieve through. Let yourself experience all the emotions, and reach out to others for help. Look for ways to turn your hurt, anger and sadness into a positive force . . . but also take time for you. Thoughts and prayers to you, your friends and his family.

I am so sorry. I really dont have any advice for you, because no matter what I say it isnt going to take away the hurt. Just know that you are not alone, maybe get together with other friends that love him as well, and help each other get through this. ONce again I am so sorry....

It's horribly to lose a friend in the first place, but losing someone to suicide makes it especially hard. Many hugs to you.![]() |

Awwwwwwwwwww Dear I'm sooooooooooooooo sorry, it is always so difficult when a friend chooses to take their own life. we always wonder if we could have helped to prevent it somehow, unfortunatly something real or imaginary made the dear soul's life unbearable. Let's pray for his dear soul, and for the family and friends who are suffering right now. ((((((((hugs))))))))) to you sweetheart this has been a terrible event for you. Try to find comfort with your friends who are sharing your shock, disbelief, and grief. God rest his precious soul, Love Carole

Wow, thank you so much. This is really touching that you all care so much. I am thankful for all your wise and heartfelt words.
There were about 20 of us on the search team with the police, that have been in and out of school counseling sessions all day. We all gathered together at our friends house after and just were together. While we were there, however, the police called one of his roommates and said that his body is being shipped to St. Paul because they think that foul play may be involved. Again, thank you for your support. This is a realy reality check, and a lesson that life is so precious. I posted this to get some support, but also as a little reminder to us all that life is the most precious gift that there is. |

I am so sorry for your pain and so sorry for him , he was so handsome, soulfull eyes.
My sister killed herself almost a year ago, Dec. 18, 05. My mother killed herself when she was 35, I was 18. I never thought my sister would follow her path. Never thought it would happen twice in my life time. I have fought my own demons but always found reasons to stay, and struggle through it, although I can understand why a person does it. I know when I felt that bad,,,,,, I was very sick, so very physically depressed , chemicals all out of whack and honestly not myself, in a deep dark place. Wanting to end it , is the only way a person in that mind set can get relief. That is how they think , to the best of my knowledge and trying to figure this whole suicide thing out. Yet,,,,,,,,there are soo many things I dont' understand, so many questions I would love to know. I think my sister , did not plan this well in advance , I think the 2 beers she had was enough to put her anorexic body chemistry even more out of whack, add to that a cheating , abusive husband and it was a toxic combination. If it had been a workday instead of a Sunday, who knows, maybe she would not have done it. I think for my sister it was an impulse choice. Remember the good times you had, and don't blame yourself, as I have both in my Mom and sister's suicides.....even thou I know I did the best I could, I still wish I had done more, but I know I went the extra mile and could not have done more. It was a personal choice they made and I try to figure it out but have to live with not understanding fully why. I wish for you peace and comfort, and just as I wish for my sister , I wish for your friend, that they are in a better place , free from their pain.
